Cambridge and Shrewsbury fans - Shilow Tracey, will he be any good in League Two?
Didn’t play too many games for us but I quite liked him. Very pacey, not afraid to take a man on and will shoot on sight. Should be good enough for League Two, yeah. Also not sure if you remember, but he did score a hattrick against you boys at Gresty Road in the Pizza Trophy in 2020.

We have resigned Ali Koiki on a 2 year deal. Very happy with that as expected he would leave. As he is under 24 we would have been due some compo and that probably meant his options were a bit more limited. Provides pace and an attacking threat from LB.

Very much need wingers and strikers in the coming weeks.
Wait what? You can get compensation for a play you signed when he was roughly 21? I thought they had to come through your youth team?

Been that way for quite a long time. It's the reason we got money or to be more exact our former owner pocketed about £2m in sell-on fee's for Jordan Hugill who was only with us a year.

Did you negotiate the sell on with Preston or did a tribunal decide it?

Can't the clubs come to an agreement and a mediator last resort?

If I remember rightly Micky Adams ended up stepping in to negotiate it otherwise would have gone to a tribunal. Not sure how we wangled it to be honest. It was the one year we ran a development squad and just stumbled on him knocking around the lower levels of non-league. One year later PNE are signing him.

Jevani Brown to Bristol Rovers according to a very reliable ITK who’s got a lot correct lately.

Was really excited when we signed him from the Saints. Southampton fans said he could be a real threat given game time. Alas he was pretty poor for us and in 21 game involvements managed 1 entire goal.

3 year contract!? As mentioned, he must have a miraculous agent.
shows you what scumhampton fans know about football :bye:

His legal issues still ongoing? Bit of a risk if so, good player mind.

His trial is on 6th July, but it’s highly likely he’ll end up avoiding jail time.

It is a risk though nonetheless. I’d have been happy for him to re-sign with us but can understand why some wouldn’t want him back. I expect this will divide Rovers fans too.

Yeah, this is true of almost any fanbase but it’s one of them that if he scores a couple of goals then it quickly gets pushed to the side. That said the Her Game Too campaign was created by some Rovers fans I think, might be a little awkward that one..

Her Game Too just seems like a sure thing vanity project to boost their careers and go to all the fancy corporate events. All easy on the eye and not a minger between them...

Fair play to N'Lundulu's agent. Not just a three year deal but at Bolton as well!

Not sure when your mate mentioned it but it’s been on our forum a couple of days and our local rag has an article on it earlier today ;)

Not sure what to think on this one. As mentioned, it’s divided the fanbase already, add that to our manager being Joey Barton of course…

I guess I’ll see what happens in the court case before making a judgement. On paper though - Wilson, Thomas & Brown are 3 brilliant signings for us

Yes, looks like us and Rotherham were waiting to see and Joey pounced. Why am I not surprised?
To be honest, I could do without the pantomime and am happy to look forward with, er, James Scott...

Our media team are on top form thats 2 great signing announcements. Luke Thomas on a 3 year deal!

Luke Thomas is a proper little c*** so will probably learn a thing or two from Barton.

He had a ‘Greenwood-esque’ incident when he was with us - he was swiftly moved on for character issues. It was nowhere near as bad as Greenwood, but it did involve him cheating on his mrs, her filming it and him responding somewhat repugnantly. No idea what his character is like now, but just get the feeling that deep down he’s a wrong’un.

It sounds like there is definite interest in Conor Washington from our side - the list of strikers called Conor we’ve had recently have been historically bad. Conor Sammon & Conor Doyle. Third times a charm?

Depends how much Rotherham would want for him, hopefully we don’t end up paying much for a player who has proven to be, at best, an ok work horse.

He may be all the things you say -- But we have signed him for his football attributes so I could'nt give a toss. I bet you have had players in the past with some sort of history -- Like all football clubs.

He's from the Forest of Dean - they're all a bit backwards from those parts.

I say that as someone who married a girl from the Forest of Dean.

Sums it up perfectly
Fans never do… our fans gave Lee Hughes absolute hell when we played Notts County… year or so later they are all doing the “Hughsey”. Nothing more fickle than a football fan!

Tbf we also know Luke from his year spent with us on loan in the promotion season.

Many wanted him back, so hearing a fan favourite(ish) is a dick you cheated on his gf is a bit of water off a ducks back tbh.

Brown is different though

I quite like Washington, he works hard for the team and is definitely a Warney type player.
I'm not sure whether Taylor holds the same view because our team was decimated by injuries for the last 8-10 games, so picking a team was more about who was fit enough to get through 90 minutes rather than who he might have preferred.

I would be happy enough to let him go, if we can adequately replace him obviously.
Its a good move for the player in that he's going to a big club in an easier league, to a manager that totally believes in him and probably will provide him with a decent pay rise in the twilight of his career.

I think Taylor will let him go for a reasonable fee TBH.

We've apparently offered Curtis Davies a deal and are expecting a response this week.

Not sure about this - his experience could be invaluable, but is he still up for the rigours of League 1?

Although the Taylor link to Brown seems like an obvious transfer, there's been no inference up here that he wants/wanted to sign him.
