Wouldn't you prefer Murphy up front with Done, plenty of skill and pace to have a go at defenders? I'd like to think Adkins is a bit more advanced in his thinking than having a bit lump (ref. Higdon) up top. If we do get Woolford, hopefully his role will be to beat his man and cross balls in early for strikers to run on to, as opposed to the end of Clough idea of turn back and pass ineffectually for a bit longer.

I prefer Murphy on the wing, providing service to Done + a more physical player-who doesnt need to a be a lump like Higdon. Someone in COG's mold would be great.

McBurnie to Swansea is a weird one as he's not proven himself to be any good at all at this level and he's 19 so not like he's too young. Even if they've spent a couple of hundred grand on him through I guess it's nothing for them so in that respect its not risky.

Decent enough winger for us last year, took too long over agreeing a new deal and asked Smurf if he could now sign last week before Smurf told him where to go but a very good player.

Not entirely accurate, scored a few including a last minute winner where he beat about five Barnsley defenders leaving a couple on their arse. He was good at home but not as strong away (bar Coventry away) seemed to benefit from Vale Parks wide pitch. Didn't want to move from London though hence stalled on a new deal with us for too long, Smurf withdrew it before he rang Smurf last week... Now he's got to leave London realistically!

Nice chap though and left a touching thank you to Vale today.

I can see where Palace are coming from, it'd be easier to monitor him if he was closer I guess. He'd take up the third centre back role in our side no problem, but I worry about his injury record

Fantastic player. Followed his career since he was 11, was on the brink of being called up to the Portugese senior team but he heard about his potential move to Coventry City and he was on the first plane back. I heard the only reason Spurs got rid of him is because they have a ban against any Portguese players for them now.
