What sort of player is Orsi? Seen we're linked with him.
Orsi is a hard to describe player.

Basically comes alive in the box but has added a tremendous work ethic to that and is always closing down defenders.

If someone does buy him from us it will be hard to replace him as he does the goal hanging and defensive forward roles.

Is he league 1 standard? Well Grimsby and Harrogate didn't think he was league 2 standard but 25 goals for us last season means he starts for us if he stays.

I could of sworn I posted this but more grey hairs are showing.

We have re-signed Jeremy Kelly. We signed him on a short term deal in January. American lad whose father comes from the Sussex area.

He played in the play off final on the left. He previously played in the US at the level below the MLS.

I rate him as decent but sometimes I forget he is on the pitch. It's a step up so not guaranteed .

2 year deal

Still being linked with Alfie May but not sure if we are close price wise yet and now strong links to Lasse Sorensen from Lincoln who I had never heard of about ten mins ago.

Still being linked with Ruari Paton, Orient interested too apparently.

Deji Oshilaja was finally confirmed today too.

Officially all we are after now is a striker and a defender and we are done.

Lasse has had a great season on the right side of defence but his ability to attack and create have made him a firm fan favourite at SB. To think he wasn’t rated as a CM to now become one of the first names on the sheet. Would be a bit annoying if he went to someone else in our league, he is good enough for the championship IMO.

It’s looking like a done deal now, sounds like he could work as a right wing back which Duff likes playing apparently.Shame we still don’t have Toffolo for the left flank.

Coming in to his last year of his contract so I do expect us to cash in with a good offer, I think it will have to be a good offer as he is a massive fan favourite and we're not desperate to sell. Been a big 12 months for him from most wanting him out as a CM to one of the leagues best RWB's mainly due to his relentless energy bombing up and down the ring. Great off the pitch - akin to Toffolo. Sad to see him go especially if he stays in L1. Different proposition playing at Huddersfield so if he does move, I'd be interested to see how he gets on.

He fits the profile of striker Wellens likes, quick and probably good at running and pressing. Impressive goal return in Scottish second tier, not sure if we'd pay money for him though.

A lot of talk our end is that Alfie will be going. Whether that ends up being right or not who knows but I can't imagine we will let him go until we have a guaranteed replacement lined up. Unfortunately it's practically impossible to replace a player who will guarantee you 20+ goals in the league. Not sure I'd call it a sideways move as I expect you to have a much better chance of promotion but crazy to gift wrap a league rival such a prolific goalscorer..

Things don't always work out the way intended but Jones was very determined to have the bulk of our business done by the time the squad returns on the 27th for Preseason. We've got 2 in, sounds like 3/4 imminent and in talks with a few more. IMO squad still needs strengthening in some areas after this. Current strikers rumoured are Etete and Ahadme. If we let May go we have Aneke (injury prone, can't play 90), Leaburn (out until October) and Kanu (high potential but still young and raw), so letting May go is a massive risk. Jones clearly prefers a more physical striker.

I’ll take that bet.
Ooooooo-er!......'IF' I were a betting man - so would I. But I'm not (thank gawd)

90% of Wxm fans would be happy with a comfy mid-table finish in out first season...but there's no such thing as comfy finishes. It's gonna be a hard 1st season back up here.

Steven Fletcher signs a new 1 year contract. Still has the quality in his 20min cameos but really doesn't have the legs. Puts us up to 21 outfield players at and age that have to be registered. Only 22 allowed. Need a fair few out the door soon.

Lasse Sorenson sold to Huddersfield.

Shame to see him leave but one we expected with only having a year left on his deal and not being able to agree a new one. Out of Jensen, Erhahon and Sorenson, he'd be the one you'd rather replace than the other two and in theory find easier to replace as well. Been crazy really because most Lincoln fans would have happily got rid of him in the first two seasons when he played CM but the switch to RWB towards the end of last season gave him a new lease of life.

He completely suits being a wingback because he's not good enough defensively to be a RB, isn't tricky or quick enough to be a winger but he's fairly competent, without being outstanding, at both sides of the game to do a bit of both in one role.

No-one has ever seen Sorenson look out of breath either, his energy is ridiculous. A proper good egg as well.

Sad to see Lasse go, the rumoured £300-400k for a player that can leave for nothing in a year makes sense. This is exactly what the club have evolved into doing when developing players, it’s good to see us making decent money compared to when our better players would leave for peanuts. Hudders have got a very good wing back and hopefully we can utilise the fee to add an extra body or two to tweak the squad further over the summer, I hope Lasse gets a great reception when he comes back to SB.

This is where you might struggle to get players out the door who are sitting on good contracts.
May have to take a big hit on two or three players

Zak Jules has left us after turning down a new deal and he’s just signed for fatty Evans at Rotherham. Decent L1 defender, should do well there.

Oh and Caleb Watts has signed a 6 month contract with us. Woo!

Zac Jules becomes Steve Evans 723rd signing of the window.
Shame, he was good for us, but what can you do when the fat man comes calling?

Only the 8th signing but there could be 723 loans coming in before the season is finished.
I understand that he's a left sided centre back so I guess Cameron Humphreys is off to the Championship.

Started the season as a left back but went into left centre back and kept Hartridge out, who's now gone to Wycombe.
Still he's from London originally so makes sense him moving to Yorkshire

Jack Roles re-signs for Crawley on a two year deal.

I can only think he makes a decent brew as he has only started about 7 league games for us in 18 months and if he aint starting in league 2 ...?

I hope I'm wrong and he has a great couple of seasons.

According to Google maps Rotherham is 163 miles from London and Exeter is 173.
Who'd have thought it?

This.

The excuse we tend to rollout (which I’ve been guilty of in the past) by saying were some isolated part of the world isn’t as relevant these days. You can get from Exeter to London in less than 2 hours by train, so we’re hardly in the arse end of nowhere. For us, particularly at this level, it comes down to money offered and we just can’t compete with most. I suspect we offered Jules good money by our standards, but it’s probably less than half of what he’s now getting at Rotherham. Good luck to him.

Probably takes a tad longer from Yorkshire if you factor in time taken on horse and cart to get out of Rotherham

All things considered if that is the range of fee then we had to take it and like Luke said, after two years and if his contract was up, he would be released. Great guy and will be a big miss at the club but of all positions, you'd think this is the one where we can replace and still make a good profit. A Norton-Cuffy would be nice!

Not heard but read that it's likely that Bishop and Mandriou will be off?

I can't imagine we would start the season with Waters in the squad, surely? Dalby and Bickerstaff will probably find starts hard to come by next season too.

Fingers crossed!

It was posted on vitals about £400k with add ons taking it to £500k for the fee so obviously a decent amount for Lasse.

Yep, Jez George said that both unlikely to play for us again.
