Ajose is a good goal scorer - other than that he is bang average. His record of 24 goals and no assists sums him up.

The word 'poacher' was invented for him.

If all we get from him is 24 goals, I'll be absolutely fine with that.

At the very least we'd effectively be taking 20+ goals from a divisional rival and at best we'd be adding them to our team.

Until it's all confirmed I'm not taking anything for granted anyway, now that it's out that we've had a bid accepted and how much for I would not be surprised to see this hijacked by a Championship club.

Although in saying that, local paper is reporting that the fee agreed is actually less than the £800k that is being touted.

Where's that from fella?

:lac:
Being reported down our end today mate, was in the Bristol Post this morning.

Don't think he'd cost you more than £300k - he's not going to get game time here and with one year left on his contract I think we'd be wise to cash in.

He's a good player in L1, Novak, Ajose and Agard would be fanastic options to have!

Just seen it cheers, appears to say that a move failed to materialise now that we've signed Novak.

According to our local rag, we're leading the way for Byron Moore, winger from Port Vale. Seven other L1 clubs after him, no idea how good he is though.
Divides opinion Moore does, bit marmite, i like him, his brother commited suicide about 18 months ago and it affected him really badly, but on his day is decent

Considering the L1 title is one which can be bought, this is very good business for Charlton

A Championship club won't take Ajose. He isn't good enough for the Championship.

Byron Moore is the next to leave Port Vale, signs a 2 year deal at Bristol Rovers. He's well and truly peaked in terms of what kind of a player he is. A bang average L1 player who has moments of brilliance interspersed with long periods of nothingness. Dunno what Port Vale fans think, but if Rovers have designs on anything more than a lower mid table finish, Moore isn't the kind of guy that will help them achieve that.

To be honest, after the last few seasons of pain/excitement/nervousness, bang average L1 mid-table mediocrity is something I'd certainly take. I can sit there in late April, asleep in the stand whilst we draw 0-0 at home with Shrewsbury in the fight to finish 16th.

That's what I mean. If lower mid table is fine with you guys(and it probably should be to start with), Moore will be an ok signing. Just think in season 2, you'll be pining for someone better.

To be honest I don't know how much prominence he'll have in our squad, presumably he's a left-winger? Bodin should start on the right.

I remember Moore being a threat in L2, but that was a few years back.

Rarely had good games would often drift out of games quickly. One of the ones Smurf wanted out.

I liked Oztumer but his inconsistency just meant he was never going to nail a place down constantly. He blows hot and cold. When he's hot, he's good but when he's cold you're carrying him.

His passing is wayward at best really but if you're looking for someone to score from midfield rather than create, he's a decent signing.
After having the opposite, a passer who doesn't score (Sawyers), I think Walsall fans will appreciate Oztumer more.

Southend
Best right back I have seen down Walsall. Quality.

Not trying to put down Southend but I'd imagined he would go to a Millwall or a Charlton.

I'm waiting for them to hijack the deal tbh. Source has come from a mate who was with his brother yesterday who says he has 2 options but is choosing us as closer to home this coincides with the latest from local paper which is Brown is talking to a full back who was a 'reg starter in L1 last season.' Sounds pretty solid to me.

Much the same as Tom Nichols to you, then.

Maybe.

I haven't seen enough of Nichols to comment as he's only made about 3 appearances before a knee injury ended his season.

Come back to me in December with that and I'll let you know.

Fleetwood have signed 22 year old attacking midfielder Elliott Osborne from Nantwich Town.

Good young player, has a stellar season in the NPL Premier Division, scored 22 goals. Could be a non-league gem for them.

As well as the young lad Osborne from Nantwich weve signed right back Michael Duckworth from Hartlepool. Know nothing about either to be honest.

Very happy with Oztumer, I'd presume he would be a likely replacement for Sawyers. Right sort of age, space to improve and fits into our style of play. Hopefully he can be expansive and shoot/score some goals from distance. It's nice to see after a couple of better years we are moving away a little from the likes of Hereford's reserves and absolute nobody's by signing players who are actually wanted by other clubs at this level.

I'd say it's a good start to our recruitment.

I thought he was meant to be quite good?

Yes, very good. I'd say he and Jackson were widely regarded as the best right backs in the division for a lot of last season.

Solid enough defensively, but very creative on the ball down the right, almost plays as a winger at times.

Excellent addition for Southend, the best right back I've seen us have. Gutted to lose him, but he's an Essex boy and wants a move home.
