1162 Tranmere at Crewe watching there 25 year wait for a win at Gresty Rd continue.
And we'll take a big number of there in late April and we'll probably fail to end our 25 year wait for a win at Prenton Park. Crazy to think there hasn't been an away league win in this fixture in a quarter of a century.

If only Scott knew how much he’s pissed off the online fan forums around the country with that one comment. Rather amusing actually :shifty:
I'm not bitter at all, I know exactly what we are. Beaten by a better squad with a better budget today, I'm fine with that.

Those comments from your manager and player are just ridiculous though. All I'm saying is that the reality is that you're a bottom feeder at L2 level at best as shown by your away following today.

1105 pissed off Gills at Swindon after the last minute shit show. Players don't deserve the numbers that keep turning out to support them.

Just? How many were you expecting? From my experience on Tuesday, the terrace and seating section is around that capacity and it's around 20% of their overall space. What's the fume?

Try not to take my posts too literal. It was a tongue in cheek comment aimed at our thick fanbase who whinge about point scoring systems. Because they don’t wish to attend the shit away days, they whinge when they don’t qualify for the better away days.

Where’s that Morecambe attendance come from?

BBC has it as a total crowd of 3,666 with 960 away supporters.

Sky Sport offered 7366 attendance.
BBC offered 3666 attendance? !!!!
I've amended my figures to the BBC total.
Thanks for bringing conflicting numbers to my attention. Ta

We may be beleaguered, but we still travel well. Our allocation for Salford (1,366) in a fortnight has sold out.

Forget the transport links. Surely any clubs numbers would be seriously effected if they had only won once away this season, only had secured 4 points and more importantly hadn't scored in the previous 4 games on their travels.

We had a much worse away record than AFC Wimbledon (before beating Harrogate 1-5 this month, we had not won away since April) and we were not allowed to use that as a defence for poor numbers so no, fuck them. It’s a shite following.

It's rare that a Southern team in this division travels well to a match up North.

That be honest going vale as an away fan is a crap away day really. All pubs home fans only and crap facilities in ground. It's probably up there will Gillingham Stevenage and Crawley as ones people look to miss.

As a habitant of the Bycars for the best part of 30 years, I can attest to that. Awful stand with awful facilities and it's a shit view from where they position away fans.

I would say however that there were a few away fans in both the Bursley Ale House and the Bulls Head on Saturday, so they're not all home fans only. I've always thought that as long as you don't go wandering in with the full strip on, you'll be fine. Seemed a pretty friendly bunch did the Wimbledon lot.

It's certainly a better pre match experience than Derby or Stoke, where it's essentially a retail park. Absolutely hate those grounds.

View isn't that bad is it? Looks decent on the Vlog the Wimbledon fan put out and the Knappers one the week before, seems like a steeper rake than the Hamil for instance. Facilities are bad, not sure what the fan zone is like in the away end or where its located though actually?

Tbf our away support has improved a fair bit in the last few years, while our home support has got worse during the same time period.

I think all the kids who used to go to home games with their parents have grown up and are now full blooded young adults / yoofs causing mayhem on the streets of a town near you instead (don’t blame them, the experience at away games is infinitely better than our home games even with our previously shite away record before Lindsey joined). It has also coincided with more and more crowd trouble at our away games so would align.

I think we now actually take more / at least the same away on average in a fairly northern L2 while doing meh than we did when we were in L1 for many years competing at the top end.
I thought you brought a decent following tbf and created more noise than our lot - BP is a morgue these days , it used to be one of the more atmospheric grounds but not so much now .

That’s nice of you to say. Yeah I thought our fans came across loud and clear on the TV considering there were only 303. I did think Grimsby sounded quieter than usual (even when 1-0 up).

The option to transfer to the Osmond on Saturday and make some noise failed. Only about 300 home fans were spread out in there.

The best noise comes from the Upper Block A. With 75% of home capacity presold as season tickets and no allocated singing section its difficult to get coordinated noise.

In the fan survey I suggested two blocks of the pontoon be allocated as unreserved seating with an unreserved seating ST available. I expect the SAG would block that though. Mansfield and Lincoln have a block of the side stand where the fans are allowed to stand, the equivalent of our Upper A, but their stands are much bigger than the Findus - we couldn’t allocate 25% of the best seats at BP like that.

The best would be to fill the corner Harrington corner with a new safe standing area to join with the end block of the Pontoon. I expect 1878 have enough on their plate with the backlog of maintenance though.

Is that normal for Wimbledon? It seems pretty low considering their home crowds. Would have expected 800 or more. It's a direct train from Euston and it's not that bad to drive as my mate does it regularly.
How many do Vale “take” to AFC and how many of those actually travel from the Potteries. I expect we’ll have 800+ at AFC in 2 weeks - I’m going in group of 9, none of us live Lincolnshire never mind GY.

We've never played at the new place.

Its the last away game, or second last away game though so if in the mix for title, auto's or play off chasing it will be a total away sell out.

We just installed safe standing in those blocks to get SAG off our backs. Only way to let it actually be allowed.

Doesn’t work for the Pontoon - a terrace converted to seats then converted to safe safe standing ends up with an even lower capacity, apparently.

lol that does not surprise me, how much less?

The Bishop street stand was suppose to be safe standing but SAG stopping us now, something to do with the terracing and the roof - so it’s got to be seating instead?!?! How can that make a difference I do not know.
