Has anyone found an accurate figure for Vale at Harrogate?

How do people normally find the away followings there?

The option to transfer to the Osmond on Saturday and make some noise failed. Only about 300 home fans were spread out in there.

The best noise comes from the Upper Block A. With 75% of home capacity presold as season tickets and no allocated singing section its difficult to get coordinated noise.

In the fan survey I suggested two blocks of the pontoon be allocated as unreserved seating with an unreserved seating ST available. I expect the SAG would block that though. Mansfield and Lincoln have a block of the side stand where the fans are allowed to stand, the equivalent of our Upper A, but their stands are much bigger than the Findus - we couldn’t allocate 25% of the best seats at BP like that.

The best would be to fill the corner Harrington corner with a new safe standing area to join with the end block of the Pontoon. I expect 1878 have enough on their plate with the backlog of maintenance though.
Think thats a fair idea .

I got round to watching the fans forum and it sounds like there is still a lot of vital work to do on the ground - I don't get how it went year on year with Fenty and no work needed apart from him scaling posts and painting , now we seem to have to spend loads on the ground all the time just to keep it open it seems

Is that normal for Wimbledon? It seems pretty low considering their home crowds. Would have expected 800 or more. It's a direct train from Euston and it's not that bad to drive as my mate does it regularly.
800 went to Notts County the previous Saturday so maybe that kept the number's down a bit. Back to back away game's. 1500 sold for MK on Sunday. In saying that it's only a tenner to get in.

How many tickets have you sold for Sunday Scummy !? Not a lot from what I've heard. 10 quid and a fiver for under 12s isn't it ? Don't worry we're bump the attendance up.

lol that does not surprise me, how much less?

The Bishop street stand was suppose to be safe standing but SAG stopping us now, something to do with the terracing and the roof - so it’s got to be seating instead?!?! How can that make a difference I do not know.
In that fans forum of ours the SAG got brought up quite a lot - they must have a lot more input than years gone by i think

I don’t what the loss of capacity is but the new owners checked it out and reported that it was less than the seated one to one of our early Fans Forums under the new regime.

It’s fucking stupid bureaucratic nonsense; we can’t convert the Pontoon back to normal terracing, even with a capacity reduced to the same as the seated capacity. This is because Blundell Park was a stadium that had to go all seater when we were in the championship in the mid-90s and the legislation doesn’t permit conversion back. It’s nothing to do with safety - Exeter have a new and much bigger terrace than the Pontoon, and there are several in rugby union grounds, including Leicester who get crowds of 20k.

What's allocation at Harrogate? We sold it out in 45 mins earlier, assume we won't get any more?

Used to be 500 or 600 only two seasons or so ago.
I’m guessing they have improved the stadium somewhat? I’ve been a couple of times and think we were at totally opposite ends of the ground each time

In Leeds based so should be able to get home end tickets but I know a few who had booked travel etc who didn’t get one and didn’t realise the allocation wasn’t massive

Wrong section. Reported.

A pretty poor effort though, your first boycott was double that, was it not?

They just guess. Think of a figure multiply by 1.2 and add the figure they first thought of. No way we're there 700 from Vale, not that it matters. In my view if the club won't give the figure it's fair to claim any number you want.

Unless you are thinking about non league days, your memory is failing you. Away has been at the south end for years. The new away stand was completed last year plus space was taken in the Wetherby Road stand to increase away space. The away capacity increased to around 1050.

We are the tiniest of tin pot clubs. Although the ground holds 5000 the council and police will not allow the club to sell more than 4000 tickets because of safety fears.

God only knows how we hang on in League 2.

We'd sold over 600 tickets as of the close of online ticket sales from Vale Park so that plus any pay on the day.

How is that allowed?

I know ground grading is based on capacity, but surely that capacity has to be fans allowed into the ground and not what you could feasibly hold.

A quick read of your forum tells me all I need to know about how many tickets you've sold for Sunday. Pathetic to be quite honest . A tenner and a quid for kids and you still can't sell tickets lol.

You need to hang on at least another season - it could be Harrogate V York the Betty's tea room derby

Perhaps the league doesn't know or doesn't care. The North Yorkshire Safety Advisory Group has advised against selling more than 4000 tickets. They don't have the power to prevent the sale but I guess there are insurance implications and the risk of corporate manslaughter/H&S prosecutions &/or civil litigation if a tragic event happened and the club had ignored the NYSAG advice.

It's frustrating because there have been times when the club has stopped selling tickets but the ground has not been full and empty seats are obvious.

Has NYSAG given any reason for the advice? Is it down to available exits etc?

Looks like we’ve sold out 3,000 for Doncaster next week - think I remember from Ches earlier in the season that they aren’t giving any more this year?
