Really pleased for Swindon fans they have finally got rid of that parasite. Just hope for Swindon’s case he hasn’t completely gutted the club on the way out the door. Been one of the big challenges our owners have had basically having to build an infrastructure at the club from the ground up after the previous owner left.

Good luck with it though regardless.

Power has ripped the club to shreds. Hopefully the FA/EFL will level any punishments at him and not the club. He had 17 previous bankruptcies behind him before he took us over. How did they pass that?

Very impressive statement, fair play. I hope any penalties are levied where the rules say they should go. Clubs need discouraging from achieving success via players they can't afford.

Success like being shit and getting relegated, you mean?

Let’s be clear here. We didn’t nearly go down the pan because we spent above our means. We went down because Power diverted every available penny into his bank account. He’s done this ever since taking charge. No reinvesting any transfer income, using other people’s money to fund the club and then shitting on them.

The bloke is a crook - pure and simple. How does a club guard against that when the EFL says he’s ‘fit and proper’ despite 17 previous bankruptcies?

Just popped on here to say congratulations to Swindon on their takeover.

Then I remembered it's Swindon, and thought no, fuck em. I hope this Morfuni bloke is as big a crook and bullshitter as Power and continues their journey towards oblivion. He sounds like a fantasist to me, so should fit in well.

Good morning, by the way.

He’d have to go some to be anywhere near Power’s level.

Hopefully, you’ll be in a similar position soon. You had yours with Uncle Firoz but he got you into non league. Still fucking you over, though.

Cheers all for the nice words. It really makes a massive difference this takeover has taken. Under Power we almost certainly would have gone to the wall as his true colours in only being in it for the money have come out. Its not going to be easy as the new chairman has admitted but having owners working alongside the STFC Trust can only be positive.

Don't think we have enough time to get a team together to be competitive this year and staying in the league is the aim. But at least I can check the Internet for players incomings and other normal football news again!

Dan - remind us which club won L2 in 2019-20, at the expense of clubs staying within their means. "Every available penny" didn't go into your former owner's pocket. Some funded signing two top scorers on loan who scored 38 between them in a truncated season.

We stayed within our means. Doyle May have cost a bit in wages but I bet Yates wasn’t an expensive loan. The rest were a mish mash of good players who more than a few had historical injury problems which is how we could afford to take a chance. Whatever cap there was we were well inside it.

There were clubs in L2 that season who spent way more than us - Mansfield, Salford etc.

So, weve got a new owner, appointed a Head Coach with assistants, a DOF, and now a new CEO for running the club on a day to day basis. Rob Angus, STFC fan for 40 years and was une grande fromage in finance at Nationwide Bank.

No more shady shenanigans, no more dubious investors, no more abridged annual accounts. Doesn’t guarantee success on the pitch, of course, but what an enormous breath of fresh air.

Feel a bit more confident now. Just need a fair price for season tickets and admissions if he's sincere regarding getting fans back onboard.

It’s no different to Coughlan doing well for you and bombing at Mansfield. It’s horses for courses. Ever thought it’s those above the manager that’s been the problem for a succession of your managers?

Not really Garner took Coughlans side from 4th in L1 to relegation candidates before Covid saved his job.
Signed a bunch of players who werent good enough that we are still trying to get shot of now.
Went into the season with Hanlan who isnt really a striker and 2 rookies who had never kicked a ball in the league. The other 2 managers failed because of the quicksand foundations Garner setup as he was given too much freedom. Good luck to you though

Football fans thinking a player or manager are 100% shit just cause they were at their club is so stupid. Let's be honest, the majority of our clubs are terribly ran and it won't work for every player or manager. People work better in difference places.

Charlie Goode was deemed not good enough at L2 Scunny a few years ago, he now plays in the Premier League.

We're going to announce away ticket details for our trip to Nerdford next week, sounds like a reduced allocation and will be all ticket for away fans going there this season. Watch this space.

I think Rovers fans are well within their rights to be unhappy with Garner's time there. Clearly if you bring in a manager when you are 4th in the league you expect him to at least guide the club somewhere near the play offs. For whatever reason it obviously didn't work out for him.

That said I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt and a fresh start. If Rovers fans can get behind someone in Barton who has a chequered past behaviour wise then I think we can get behind a manager that was poor in his first role.

This season is going to be all about staying in the league for us so if he can do that then happy days.

He was excellent for Northampton to be fair, can't see him getting many games in the Prem will probably be loaned out though.

It’ll sell out in days, the fun buses were sold in
Minutes.
Only given 600 tickets initially they will be gone by today. Then we will be given another 400 which should sell out aswell. I've spent a fortune today brought shef wed ticket Northampton coach and match ticket plus gold away shirt and blue keeper top.
