If Curle isn’t sacked by the weekend, I’m not going to our FA Cup game against Sheff Wed, I’ll instead attend Newcastle V Luton which is actually close to where I live anyway.

No doubt our spineless board will be happy with our season fading into mediocre misery.

We are proper shit and are swiftly heading back into danger. I can't see us signing anyone that will keep us out of a scrap at the bottom.

An amazing 9th away win of the season - and we’re pretty shit.

Sort things out player wise in the window and surely we can only improve in the second half of the season.

That wasn't one of the better Carlisle sides I've seen at field mill, putting it politely.

The first 2 goals were comical by your defence, and though you had a nice 10 minutes after that, and another 10 in and around the penalty (see can't believe he gave it) you offered little. The back 4 looked dodgy as.

Curle realised playing us at football wouldn't work so he reverted to falling about like pansies.

The ref was poor all round

I find it hard to believe that he set his team out to even try to play football. That’s why we are so shit. If we did play football we’d probably do a bit better despite having the worst set of strikers in the football league, it’s all down to the clown in charge.

As for Curle reverting to falling about like a pansy... that would have been funny to see

You’re not anything above average and yet you managed to see out the rest of the match pretty comfortably
.
Our first half performance was a lot better than previous horror-shows as circumstances forced McGhee to play our strongest side but his inability at in-game management was shown up today.

Average is about right, but the standard is really poor. A decent window and we should improve.

Comfy win for Crewe Alex as our win-loss-win run stretches to 8 games. Such a strange team, when we win, we win by a couple or goals or more and deserve it. When we lose, we lose by a decent margin or play so poorly, we don't deserve anything from the game. If we could turn some of those shit performances into middling ones and pick up a few draws, we'll finish comfortably in mid-table. Things could go either way at this stage, although we have won 4 out of our last 8, so picking up points.

The thing is with Artell we're winning games we wouldn't win under Davis. Today is a big example of that. Games like Blackpool and Mansfield at home last season where they came to our place showing very little ambition to attack and were pitiful and we drew both games because Davis was far too cautious and didn't want us to take control of the game. We'd have drawn today under him that I'm sure of.

On the other side though, we're losing games that Davis would've drawn owing in part to his negativity which can bring benefits when you frustrate sides away from home. I do think Artell does try to make us win every game but, as the away form reflects, we show far too much tactical naivety away from home to even trouble the top half. Once one goes in, we're chasing the game but displaying the naivety which ends up opening the floodgates. There's a lack of battle when we go 1-0 down in games and if we addressed that we'd be in a much healthier position. Obviously, the run of 3 big collapses in 4 weeks where we took the lead in games only for us to lose (Colchester, Lincoln, FGR) really was frustrating but since the FGR debacle we've started to learn how to kill off games and that second goal has been crucial in all three of those.

Very frustrating season, this team is far more capable of achieving more than it's doing so now and hopefully we've learned from our mistakes of this Autumn and finish strongly now.

Carlisle were pretty shite at the back but surprisingly quite good going forward.

However when it came to putting the ball in the net they were again shite especially Bennett who hit the woodwork when any six year old should have scored when the score was 2-1. A defining moment in the game.

I haven’t been impressed with us at all this season. Aside from Taylor’s set piece delivery, some of Matt Preston’s earlier season form and Woollery’s promise in patches we’ve been a let down.

Our home form this year has been appalling but away from home we seem to have a knack of winning which sees us only 3 points off third with a game in hand.

It’s a pretty shit league based on the very little I’ve seen and so if we can bring in some decent players in the window I reckon we could have a shot at the play-off lottery.

Yeah, I agree. With Davis, it was either shite or middle of the road stuff. With Artell, there is good stuff and shocking stuff. Some of the defeats I've seen us play out are Davis-esq, but I've seen far more goals and comfy games in the ones we've won than I did under Davis.

The 'who scores first thing' is so big for us at the moment. We concede first, there is almost a 0% chance we get back into the game. We've scored 3 equalisers in the league all season and got 1 point from a losing position. I can't understand why we look totally beaten as soon as fall behind. But on the flip side, when we get infront, we don't often look like throwing it away. As you said, that spell where we went ahead in 3 straight games and lost all 3 was shocking, but generally when we get in front, we're fine. In fact, 8 of our 9 wins have been to nil and the 9th, which was Chesterfield, they only scored at 4-0.

We've lost one of the last 18.... not bad form that. We need to turn all these draws into wins. Two in a row now its starting to look good

I was visiting family so couldn't travel the miles and miles for the close holiday season game but reports say Yeovil had one player off for two yellows and one off for the denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

The 88th or 98th minute goal is due to a stoppage caused by a drone flying around the pitch. The ref took the players off for ten minutes.

To me it sounds as though we got a tad lucky today.

We're better with ten men but Wycombe are seeing it out give or take

ETA Yep, full time

You had a right good go in the second half, we were dogshit - I thought we were going to bang in a couple of more in the second half once you went down to 10 men but oh no, we did it the hard way, sat back and just let you play.

And we didn't even snap out of it after you scored. I don't know what Ainsworth's been saying in his half time team talks for the last couple of games but from the sounds of it it's something along the lines of "relax lads, you're home and dry - don't be too hard on yourselves".

Thankfully (for us) nothing goes your way when you're at the arse end of the table - been there, done that - hope you get out of it but you seriously need some new signings in January or you're gone - not telling you anything you don't know I'm sure but there you have it.

I thought Wishart looked good for you - especially when Bean came on (who is our 4th choice right back, given that he's actually a holding midfielder and has the pace of a seal on land), it was serious squeaky bum time.

By all accounts some shouts for Johnson to go yesterday - and it appears to be getting more vociferous on Twitter.

We're always shite at Stevenage, but this has been a very poor Xmas period for us. We've only won 3 times since October as well. Whilst we appear to be quite safe (still closer to the playoffs than relegation), the over-riding emotion is that Johnson has taken us as far as he can. His summer business (Mo Eisa aside) was appalling, and by not bringing in a specialist right-back or back-up left-back we've been forced to play our most creative player at full-back since the first game of the season.

I'm a massive proponent of not cutting your nose to spite your face, and we're comfortable at the moment so do we really want to risk another Paul Buckle? I agree with what a couple of our media guys have said - give him January and the rest of the season then weigh up how we progress in the summer.

We are chalk and cheese at the moment either score a hat-load or play poorly and lose. We have scored 9 times in our last 2 Home games and haven't lost at Home since October, conversley we haven't picked up a league point away since September against Carlisle. It's our Home form stopping us been dragged into a scrap at the bottom.
I wasn't their yesterday but it sounded like at 2-1 we rode our luck a bit and Cheltenham hit the woodwork and had the ball cleared off the line before we went 3-1 up.

Sarrl has been in charge for 2 1/2 seasons now and don't really see any improvement so if our form doesn't improve after January give him this season but look to get someone else in the Summer, IMO. I genuinly like the bloke and want him to do well but I can't see it unfortunately.
