The detailed planning for our new stadium site have now been revealed. Site will include a hotel plus training pitches, offices/green technology centres etc. Work on the site has already started with an archeological dig, work on the training facilities should be finished in the next 12 months.

Good news about the train station likely re-opening too, though saw it's a bit more of a walk than I first thought.

All power to your elbow and all that but that does look a little excessive for a league 2 (league 1?) club with around 2,000 supporters.

I would be thinking the same if Crawley did it.

Yeah it’s the Stroudwater Railway station they’re reopening isn’t it?
Not sure, think I had it confused with the one in Stonehouse which possibly never closed, been away a bit too long. Last thing I read is it's maybe a 25 min walk wherever it is, which is pretty decent.

Capacity's 5,000 with potential easy upgrade to double that so not too nuts if their belief the location will increase rather than cut crowds, might crack 3,000 regularly and can accommodate Bristol Swindon etc in something better than a bus stop. Plus the wooden structure pisses off all the right knobheads.

Where’s the pub(s)

Well there will be home and away bars at the stadium apparently plus you’re obviously pretty close to Eastington and Stonehouse.

A lot of development going on in the area, so despite the renderings it’s not an isolated location by any means.

I was pretty agin it in the early stages but want it to succeed now they're going ahead and it does look like it might be a general boost to the area too. Good to have the women's and youth sides properly brought in too, hope the pitches see some community use.

I didn’t think it was possible but I think FGR will move to a stadium with even less atmosphere and character than the current one!

At least you’ll be able to get in and out quicker and won’t get wet in the away end though. Very convenient for away fans being right on the M5.
