Good he was caught, should be no room for racism anywhere.

But still wondering why would a Tranmere fan travel all that way on a Tuesday night to watch a meaningless end of season game between us and Fleetwood? Mental.

Crawley have been fined £2000 & Gillingham £3000 for failing to control the staff and players after our recent match.

Gills coach, Livermore apparently, walked on the pitch and punched Ronan Darcy after the game because of a foul. He has been fined £1400 and banned for 4 games.

Not quite sure why Crawley have been fined for a Gills coach punching a Crawley player.

Obviously you needed a ninja stationed by the technical areas ready and waiting to pounce in a situation like this.

The only time punching an opposition player is acceptable is if it is Harry Pell.

Seems a bit lenient for a punch. Barton got a fine and 3 game stadium ban just for calling the ref a c**t

Crawley have been fined too because their players were involved in all the pushing, shoving and foolishness.
According to our players the whole thing was started by the Crawley keeper.
The punch came after the melee had already started.
Guess we will never really know exactly what caused it as both sides will have their own version.

Seems fair enough. Foul and abusive language is a 3 match ban for a player isn’t it?

I was at the game and was walking out as it kicked off (the melee not the game) and I couldn't tell you who started it so I won't argue the point.

While it's pretty normal behaviour for 20's something lads to lose their composure in these situations (testosterone and all) a coach should know better. I didnt see the punch but the coaches should be held to greater account than the players as they are ostensibly older and wiser. I'm not sure the punishment is strong enough.

I tend to agree with you Casey.
The coaching staff should be guiding the players.
We had enough of this sort of shit when the lardy one was here.
No more thanks

Isnt a punch worse than words? If it happened around town you'd be arrested

Yeah possibly, but the point is reds for both foul & abusive language and violent conduct tend to result in a 3 match ban. I think most players/coaches are aware of that, so can't really complain.

I mean you could argue a red for serious foul play, like a potential leg breaker, is worse then a punch, but both are still usually the same punishment.

I see a certain ex manager of ours is back on Twitter. Must be desperate to get back into football.

Conveniently forgets to mention the myriad of poor decisions he made in that season and blames others for his own mistakes.

Lives in Chester so I reckon Tranmere may well be appointing him soon...

He does literally mention two of his own decisions he'd do differently in that tweet.

Dawes looked so out of his depth, and more bedraggled with every week.

its not often a caretaker manager becoming permanent is a success. It will probably be well suited to Artell

Came across this stats table in Wiki. Thought it interesting enough to share.

EFL2 was created in Season 2004-05 (19 years ago).
Of the current members only three: - Grimsby, Mansfield & Notts Co, were original members.
Indeed only Notts Co are only team to have won Championship and been relegated.
Swindon Town is our yo-yo club with 4 different spells and two title wins.

That 4th place finish for us too we were in the top 3 for the whole season until the penultimate game when we could only draw with Macclesfield so it was then in Orients hands going into the final game.
Then going into injury time in the final game we were promoted, (we were winning and Orient only drawing) and then the football gods decided to fucking troll us with us conceding an equaliser in injury time and at almost exactly the same time Orient scored their winner at Oxford which meant it was play offs for us instead.
17 years ago now and it still sickens me talking about it.

Was that the goal which sent orient up but also oxford down?

If I remember rightly, Oxford hadn't been in the Bottom 2 all season until the final day as well.

Same as Bristol Rovers in 2014...
We were nailed on for relegation, spent half of that last day down then we pulled it out the bag and Oxford dropped, or at least I think that's right, we've had that many close shaves they sort of blur.
The year Stags and Wrexham dropped we were very close too.
We deserved to go down in the end for not being organised and taking relegation seriously enough. We were a shit show for years and squandered millions to be that bad.
Even then we should have had a reprieve because Bury were never going to start the following season and dragged it out until June 1st knowing they were bankrupt.
