Yes, but it's how you sort of dissect it. He's built the stadium complex and financed the football team as well but everything has been done to further his propery and entertainments empire. The football team was a part of the equation he needed to get the whole thing up and running. He bought the MK Bowl ostensibly to turn it into a training facility for the club however there are more concerts scheduled for this year already than about the last 5 years council owned put together.

He isn't a bad owner by any stretch but the football club is a small blip on his radar.

Jesus. And there's me compaining because Winkleman doesn't put his hand in his pocket enough for us. A question about your ground? Who actually owns it now? I'm presuming there are protections in place to stop an owner selling out from under you again or doing some malarky deal to seperate club and ground?
We’re OK re the ground. The council sold it on a 50/50 basis to the owner and our Supporters Trust so we’re pretty watertight with that. I bet we’re not the only club where ‘shenanigans’ are rife. Now is the time for it all to come out and whatever the outcome take it on the chin. We’re all sick and tired of it.

I'm not sure if this really goes in here but in amongst all the media circus that comes with us you get some interesting things too. This interview with Ollie Palmer is about his time at Wrexham but there are some wider bits about Mansfield, Grimsby, Wimbledon and (in passing) Crawley that may be of interest to others.

Hint - he calls one of those places a shithole with whining fans and a dressing room full of dick heads...

No prizes for guessing who that’s about, the same club that took a chance on him and bought him to the FL. It’s a good job he got in the gym after leaving us and beefed up abit or he wouldn’t get a game for Oak Tree Mangos in the Mansfield Sunday league back then.

To be honest he’s done really well since leaving us, he’s not the first and gone onto have a decent few years at this level, just a shame he can’t let it go. He goes off like he was some sort of scapegoat here but he wasn’t at all, he was just shit but so were the rest in his season or 2 here, it was when he left folk said no loss etc and his bird started piping up on Facebook about how the club had paid for his house etc. They were only early 20s at the time mind so it’s to be expected but for him to still be going on about it now…

Decent league 2 player but thinks he’s way better than he is.

His disdain for the club that made him professional is astonishing, the fact he still passionately feels that way is very sad too.

Tbh he’s embarrassing, i feel for the lad.

Not worth a listen to, but can’t understand why he’s so bitter, we took a chance on him he wasn’t good enough (at the time) mainly as he couldn’t run, kick a ball, score, head, tackle, pass, track back, jog.

When he moved no-one cared as tbh no-one thought he’d do anything, i recall him getting good luck wishes though.

We were bloody shit when he played for us too!

Tragic individual.

Superbly executed RATTLING by Ollie Palmer. Mansfield fans have walked right into that one.

about the only thing he did rattle at mansfield

Still can’t believe that miss from like 1cm against chesterfield, no wonder he got stick.

Troy Deeney given a 4 match touchline ban for his sending off at Swindon. Could he get around it if he picks himself in the team or as a sub?

For the full Doncaster Rovers 97/98 effect all we need now is for one of Vince's mates in the Palestinian (non-) embassy to try and burn the ground down. What a fucking bad joke we have become.

You need a bricky as manager and his next door neighbour in goal before you achieve that

The first two fair enough but I wouldn’t call our dressing room full of dick heads.

Listened to that in the background as I worked on Friday. Was decent. Only really briefly touches on his time with us but was all positive, aside from saying he gets abuse off us now. Can't say I've ever noticed that really, I've always liked him.

It sound like at the time he needed a bit of support from the manager as he got used to full time football. Paul Hurst gave him that but the Mansfield manager (would that have been Cox?) didn't.

He had plenty of time, we signed him as a rookie after he’d scored loads of goals down at havant & waterlooville.

He had an attitude of someone who believed he was a god after scoring for fun in a farmers league and his attitude continued as such.

Sadly for him and mansfield the step up at the time was too much and he struggled badly and it became obvious the lad wasn’t good enough (5 in 54 games shows he was given time) he still saw himself as something he wasn’t at the time and his attitude wasn’t where it should’ve been.

What the mansfield fans have never quite got is that when he left no-one was actually bothered/cared as unfortunately it hadn’t worked out, but for some reason he developed some beef with the club which is all rather embarrassing for him.

The only league team he’s had a half decent return at was crawley (where ironically he had to apologise for mocking their training facilities - rather unprofessional)

I dare say the issue lies with ollie than anywhere else, not someone you’d want in the dressing room.

Stockport County.
In my opinion some of these lads like Palmer at Wrexham seem to think they have a job for life there. Creating clothing brands etc to cash in on Wrexham's fame. Nobody will give a fuck about them when Wrexham decide they need somebody better (no slight on Wrexham- that's how fuck football works and the football pitch is their main priority). I don't actually think that day is too far away for Palmer. Wrexham get another forward in the next week and he's what 4th choice striker there?

Yeah he's got one more season left tops. If we are actually looking at people like Humphrys then he's sliding down the pecking order.

He's been a successful signing but given his age he won't be with us forever.
