Vale can probably feel a bit hard done by today. They were the better team for the majority of the first half and I was actually hoping to get into half-time at 1-1. At the start of the second half, we allowed Vale to attack us and they took full advantage of that.

It was only when we brought on Atangana and Adebayo that we took a foothold, and once we got our 3rd, Vale fell to bits. With that being said, I couldn't believe the ref, who blew everytime someone went to ground, didn't give them a free-kick before Adebayo slotted it in. Whether it was a foul or not I couldn't be certain, but given what the ref had blown for up to then (and afterwards) it was completely shocking that he didn't at that point.

Mo Eisa is some player by the way, the first Cheltenham player to score a hat-trick in the Football League since Michael Pook against Burton (6-5 in March 2010). We don't need to sell, so will be expecting some big bids for him in the summer. That's 15 goals this season, which is his first at this level.

Don’t know if you went today, but Evans seems to think that that was ‘harshest result this season’.

With your 1 shot on target and your keeper saving a number of attempts, I don’t know what game he was watching.

Mind you, it was a change not to see a team of cheats and a crappy referee.

See you in the play offs!

Can only assume it's to try & keep the confidence in his team. He can hardly come out and say they were much better than us again & deserved to win, especially as it's quite possible that we may meet again in the play-offs.

FWIW, I thought they looked a decent side, and it helped us that they came to play football & try to win as it made it a fairly open game. Let's face it despite the numerous chances we created the goal came from a counter-attack.

We had Kevin Friend as ref for the game, and you could see the massive difference between a PL ref & the usual shite we get.
He was decisive in his decisions, and had the game under control right from the start, there was very little back chat from the players and he only gave out two yellow cards (both for tackles from behind).

Don't get me wrong, there are always decisions you don't agree with (as you expect every 50/50 to go your way, in fact even 40/60 decisions the ref should give to us :) ), but he was generally consistent.

Just a shame we will be back to the usual standard on L2 ref on Tuesday

Dreadful game at Gresty Road, we drew our first game in 29 matches, but it was a poor spectacle in which we could have been playing now and not scored. We've got such a lack of quality all over the pitch, if we aren't beating our relegation rivals, we've got no chance. 4 sides in the top half next up, not sure where the next win is coming from.

It was a shit game wasn't it? 0-0 was an appropriate scoreline, there was some incredibly bad passing and lack of control all round.

The highlight was the corner from your fella in the second half

well the 28433 crowd that witnessed that debacle cant wait to come back I bet.
These are not excuses but the squad have had the shits all week so some couldn't start and some who did had to be brought off.
We missed our captain who apparently hadn't been off the bog all week.
We have had two season long ACL's and now a broken collar bone to our central defender and the youngsters who replaced them are just a season or so to soon for this league.
After re-reading my post the last four lines are in fact excuses, sorry about that

Yes, all we could do was laugh because it really did sum us up.

Although watching the highlights back, we were denied a stonewall penalty in the first half. The ref gestures that the ball hits his arm from such a short distance that he can't give it, which is complete bollocks. The guys hand is extended at 90 degrees away from his body and it didn't need to be there. Joke of a decision.

Really? I can't find out if he's gone on any forum, any club that takes this prick on as manager deserves to be non league for many years as Slade knows as much about football as i do about about brain surgery, why does this **** keep being employed by chairmen of clubs with his dire record of failure? I would hate this prick being manager of the club i support as his self importance would be put above the views of fans that have supported the club for decades.

At the time I thought we dodged a bullet with the handball and having watched the replay nothing's changed. I don't believe Omar meant it but he's a big gangly at times and it obviously blocked the pull back.

Evans must have been on the glue after our game to say we deserved anything out of that one. We didn’t but we move on. Thankfully results around us didn’t go too badly so a win tomorrow night and we can be back on track.

Yeah, he seemed a bit blinkered. But virtually every team up there are going to get beaten every now and then. You just seemed a bit powder puff up front.

Now Hemmings is on form, and Rose obviously putting em away that is not really the case anymore.

Hemmings, fucking scummer, fluffed one of your few chances Saturday.

I can only comment on what I saw Saturday. Maybe our defence was immense!

It was probably just a bad day at the office for us. It's not like anyone at Mansfield thought Swindon would just roll over and have their tummies tickled.

We've Newport tomorrow which is pretty much a must win given we've then got Exeter away and Coventry at home. If we can get 5/6 points from the next 3 I'd be delighted.

Hope he’s just ‘Being Steve Evans’ again in May and adding another promotion to his CV :cool1:
As long as he doesn’t “be Steve Evans” by using cash in brown paper bags then I think we’ll let you have it....!

Perfectly put mowgli.
His tenure at Cov was absolutely disastrous and if we had employed someone different last season we may have stayed up. The type of football he played was a disgrace and he should never ever work in football again

Doubt it Dick. Don't think you're good enough to go up to be honest. Very hit and miss this season.

Indeed we are.

Just a lot more hit than miss

I thought Steve Evans was a big let down at Blundell Park this season.
I mean usually he's good for a sending off at the very least, sometimes even goes one better and gets ejected from the whole ground but this year, fuck all.
Massive let down.

Tbf, he has slimmed down a lot. Heart attack waiting to happen otherwise.

Loved it when he lost his rag with our disappearing ballboys
