Yeah I think 47-48 should be enough actually. Will be a bit close for comfort so would like 50.

Head says 47 (a win and a draw) will be enough. Heart says 5 points for us asap and a win/double against champions Burton on the last day would round off a satisfactory season - with progress and lessons learned on and off the pitch. If Dickie has enough about him to get us there, I think he has another season or two in him despite the doubters. If it goes down to the wire, its going to get very fraught and I may stay away from messageboards in April for the sake of my own sanity.

I find it very hard to comprehend that despite the fact we are pretty rubbish, many teams in this division are a lot more dire.

Although I do doubt our ability to pull away much further, but even so we should be fine now.

I've actually been surprised at how poor the quality of this division is in comparison to League One. I would say that the gap between the top half of League One and the rest of League One is bigger but down at the bottom end of League Two the quality is a lot worse than I ever imagined it would be. Which makes it very disappointing to think that we're one of those bad teams that drags the quality down.

Agreed on that. I was at the Molineux last game of last season to watch us get relegated and get completely played off the pitch. It really hit home how much better than us some of the teams in that league were, but also that some of them were actually quite good footballing teams. I thought there wouldn't be too much of a gap between league 1 and league 2 but even in the bottom of league 1 there were some decent sides, players and attendances. I'm sure each fan of the teams near the bottom of league 2 has some idea of who their good players are but in general they're all dire, we've seen that all season. So yes, it is grim to think that just a year ago we were scrapping with some reasonable size and quality sides, and now we're just another all-round sh*t league 2 club.

Think Tranmere will win today against Burton, Hartlepool to get at least a draw at home to Mansfield, and Cheltenham have a winnable game against Exeter. Think we'll win though, just hope the gap between us and relegation is bigger come 5pm.

Morecambe are there for the taking, bit disappointed though we couldn't pressure their goalie more in the first half, just need to create more chances and be careful of their counter attacks. Could be a very good day for us if we carve out a win here.

Sounds like a cracking game, huge for us if we can hold on. Glad to see Potts back on the scoresheet as well - think that's his first since the Championship interest started.

Wow, unbelievable bottling from York. Hartlepool right in with a chance now.

Was sure Pools were down but not so much now, simply because the others above them are doing everything they can to help them. Cheltenham missed a great chance to pick up points today, and I also thought Carlisle were going to get a win. As for Tranmere I thought they wouldn't get anything as Burton are a very good side, and tbh, they only won at The Abbey because we were abysmal.

I remember on the other forum I said Oxford will struggle up to the final day, and there's a chance I could be right. Still, I'll stick to my prediction of Pools and Cheltenham to go down, though if I'm being honest, I think Pools stand a better chance of staying up than Tranmere as they're on the up whilst Rovers' morale is rock bottom.

For fuck sake Hartlepool, you're making me look a right plonker in this thread.

I suppose I've got to stick by what I said. My gut feeling is still that they'll drop although fair play to them for making such a fist of it.

Well well well, do people still think Hartlepool won't stay up? :dk:

As for us, we should have won. Big 2 points dropped which will probably prove costly. Our inability to win at home and build on good results is going to be what relegates us.

Only Adam does but no one listens to him anyway.

As for us, we are nearly there but plenty of work still to do.

Hartlepool making a fight of it, but I still think they'll go down. 3 points would have been massive today, but none of the other sides won either - excluding the Pools. 2 points behind Oxford now, and we play them next, another huge game.

Heartbreakingly, we are done for. Lost 7 of the last 8, thumped at home today, 9 players missing for various reasons today and a manager who seems determined to piss off the very few that stayed to accompany me until the final whistle today. 5400ish today - we'll struggle to break 2000 when we go. We are finishing rock bottom.

Our attendance will never drop below 2000. We have a solid 3500-4000 who will go no matter what.

Ryan Lowe to send Tranmere down on the last day whislt at the same time getting Bury promoted? An exciting prospect

Seeing that number of people up and leave after Burton's 4th - that's Barnesesque in it's severity. Maybe 2000 was a bit melodramatic, but we will be looking at JPT attendances for league games. Chester, Wrexham and Southport aside, none of the fixtures are in the least bit appealing.

I know you're already wetting your knickers at the prospect of that happening but we'll be long relegated by then.

Bring Goodison back if that's the case, give him one last chance to mow down Ryan Lowe and put an end to his chances of playing in the playoffs.

Fuck me, Hartlepool are only 5 points behind us now!! That's scary. We're going to be bottom sooner than I thought, unless we can miraculously discover how to win home games.

Come and watch our game next Saturday. It'll help put into perspective how there's at least one team in this league who are far worse than you lot are!

Looking a grim day to be a Tranmere fan at the moment. Hartlepool have momentum it's all about whether they can keep us with the rest. Cheltenham and Tranmere to be relegated.
