Having spent most of my time as a fan following L2 relegation battle I do love this time of season.....the doom, the despair, the passion, the dogged hope your garbage sack of crap players can somehow scrape just 1-2 performances somewhere to dig you out of it.......give me this over the dull tedious boredom of midtable anyday.

True, we're well used to it... and used to actually cheer on the shit team we supported with some degree of humour about how bad we were, and I don't think it was always because they were trying hard either. At some point under Greg Abbott's reign that turned to anger and the fans started spitting feathers because we'd finished mid-table in League 1. That season we reached the League 1 playoffs ruined us ;)

F*** me! Last I saw Hartlepool were down and gone, what on Earth happened?!

Bit of passion and tactics matched to player capabilities probably sums it up. Wise moves with limited funds in the loan market seems to have helped. Manager who knows what he is doing, with a single goal of survival, seems to help accumulate points in this league.

Another one! All you need is one win, or even not losing to Tranny !

Plus winning 4 winnable games, just 1 point from the last 2 games though; but Ronnie Moore is the difference and that is why I'm confident we will get out of this, but I still think we will need help cos I can only see 7 points coming our way

Don't worry, we will be going down with cheltenham
If you're going down it will be with us.

I don't know how many times I have to say before anyone will believe me, but we are 100% relegated.

My money's on Cheltenham joining us, but it's not guaranteed because they are at least capable of springing up a win or 2 in these last few fixtures. We're not, we'll be lucky to get 1 more point.

I guarantee that we're nailed on for one of them relegation spots. It's easy money to be made if you're a betting man.

If you beat Dagenham and Tranmere lose you are going to look very very silly!

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
while I'm trying to enjoy the relegation battle than fear it I think Dagenham will win sat.

people seem to just look at Dagenham and go off size of club thinking 'ah easy' and yet the reality is they must be one of the most current in form sides in the league, they have done superbly for the size of club to stay up and stay up easily and you have to respect that fact.

they come here safe, in good form, decent morale, nothing to lose. we on other hand go in a demoralised wreck with huge splits and rifts which will have to somehow gel together if it wants to survive.

I put them as clear favourites, but in a league where it hasn't a lot of difference in quality you have always a chance.

We'll you've Dagenham at home and we've Plymouth away, with respect to both sides, I know which one of those i'd prefer

Cheltenham will finish bottom with either Tranmere or Hartlepool, Pools goal difference will drag them down.

Stags will be safe with three more points, starting with a point away at plymouth.

Despite a few good results i have never been so embarrassed to watch an away team try and play football. Hartlepool will struggle if they go down.

Well despite not sharing HG's unique brand of aggressive pessimism, you certainly can't rule us out, and I would hazard to suggest we're a bit more likely to go down than Hartlepool are.

Even if Hartlepool are safe by the time we play them on the final day, I'm sure Ronnie Moore would like nothing more than to get the win that helps Tranmere survive.

I would've thought the complete opposite, wouldn't he want to send them down seeing as they didn't even hesitate to sack him when the betting allegations came out?

Carlisle away on Saturday is actually the most confident I've been going into a game in some time, which probably says a lot about the opposition because we weren't great shakes last week against Wimbledon even with the 4-0. Maybe a lot of that is our record against them though, which seems to actually count for a lot when deciding matches the further down the leagues you go.

You'll win quite comfortably I think. I've predicted 4-0 on our forum if you score quite early on, if not probably just 2/3-0

Well as far as I'm aware he did some scouting for them earlier this season, and probably doesn't hold the decision the owners made against the fans of the club.

Of all the teams that could go down, I agree that the team least likely to recover would be Pools, a lot more to our plight than meets the eye, Ronnie is wallpaper, peel him back and we will crumble , Cheltenham have already made thier first move for promotion by appointing Johnson

I think the best solution really would be for Cheltenham, Tranmere, Carlisle and Mansfield to all be relegated for being 'the worst team in the league'. Hartlepool would be allowed to survive on the "Ronnie Moore" technicality.

Then we can have a MLS style League Two for a couple of years with nobody having to worry about relegation. Two teams get promoted from the NATIONAL LEAGUE each year until we're back up to our full quota of 24 teams where we go back to normal.

In fact, I'm going off to propose this to the FA immediately. Your views must be heard!

Cheltenham to survive on a technicality please, and maybe keep Carlisle as their fans probably account for 50% of all League Two postings.

We can probably relate to this a bit - two years in the Championship and a couple of years flirting with the play-offs and everyone seems to forget that the bottom end of League One is where we generally belong. I think that's changing a little now though that the players seem to be putting up a bit of a fight, it's almost as though they've earnt back a bit of respect.

RONNIE Moore isn't a technicality ; he is a fact, one man's knowledge and personality has turned around a hopeless situation, he was out of work and available when Curle was appointed, if Carlisle or Tranmere go down cos we have Moore they have no one to blame but themselves

Tranmere may well lose, I accept that.... but we definitely won't beat Dagenham, just like Granada were never going to beat Real Madrid on Sunday.

So if Tranmere lose and BOTH Carlisle and Granada win you are going to look very very very silly, well done though for putting Dagenham and Real Madrid in the same sentence, I have never seen that before!

Granada didn't win, they lost 9-1. I don't think we'll lose 9-1 but it could be 4 or 5.

There are only 5 left, do seriously think you will lose the lot? At worst you'll get 2 or 3 points , that still leaves Tranmere needing a couple of wins and Cheltenham 3 , I just don't see it, I have however read your Accrington reports and it does sound as if that is as bad as it can get; you can't play like that twice surely

Just heard a bit of a whisper that only one team will be relegated this year if Barnet win the Conference.

It's something due to Barnet not compling with FL regulations regarding the length of lease on their new ground at the Hive.

I doubt that will happen, the FL won't want to return to the tinpot days of teams finishing in the relegation places and getting a reprieve, they'll get together with Barnet and work something out I'm sure.

I actually wondered about that, the rules are there to stop teams like Barnet getting an unfair advantage by not gain a proper ground in place

Before accrington I thought we'd get a point in either the accrington or Dagenham match, then zero from the last 4.

After witnessing that shite on Monday and the circus after it, I don't think we'll get one more point.

The only scenario where I could see us getting something is your game if we're already relegated.
