Looking at the bottom 4's fixtures this weekend all I can see is draws.

I'm jumping at the chance to slowly exit this thread. Reckon Carlisle will get a draw, Cheltenham will lose, Tranmere and Hartlepool both win.
Would you be able to safely exit this thread in that scenario?
Yeah Cheltenham wouldn't be able to catch us but Tranmere would be 4 behind us and Hartlepool 3.

You said Cheltenham is winnable and Pools can get a good result, yet dismiss Carlisles chances of getting anything!
You're making stuff up now. Go back and read my post, I said you'd expect an away win. That's not dismissing Carlisle's chances, it's simply saying that because Carlisle have the hardest fixture this weekend, you'd expect the team at the top end fighting for a playoff place to win.

In normal circumstances id say the same about luton pools, but due to luton's recent home form it's pretty even which way it goes imo.

Cheltenham and Tranmere loose tomorrow or don't even get a point and Mansfield are safe regardless of our result, with only 6 points left to play for.

Id say its between Tranmere Cheltenham and Hartlepool, who ever stays up out of them will be lucky. Hartlepool deserve to go, been the worst team this season.

Cant see any of them getting more than a point from the last three games

The teams in the bottom two on May 2nd at 17:00 will be the two that deserve to go down, you clown.

What is it with Mansfield fans on here? Constant attitude and general pissyness. Not much different to how they are at matches then.

No offence to anyone else on this thread, I feel your pain, but it will be nice to be able to follow these games with interest from Shrewsbury without having to worry too much about our own result. Some beers will be sunk.

Funny you say that as Mansfield are probaby the worst side I've ever seen both seasons we've played them. And I'm sure many others will hold the same view. It's a good job their dirty tactics help them grind out 1-0 wins or they'd be fucked.

The only true table is the final table. As far as Mansfield go, they were out of the league for years, so you can't blame them for doing what they have to do to avoid going back down, ultimately it wins you know friends and even your own fans fancy watching a game of football every now and then. Pools have / had been truly dire for 30 odd games , no denying that, but the fact we caught up in just 4 games surely says just as much about the teams just above us ( or below us as it now stands)

Just be glad you never played them in the Conference, Kyle Perry leading the line was brutal.

Don't want to be rude but the only thing that interests me right now is seeing Carlisle survive. That way, we'll have 3 CUFC's next year in League 2. Can't wait for the thread titles. CUFC's vs CUFC's MK1, CUFC's vs CUFC's MK2 and so on.

it's worked though - to a degree - now that Murray will have a summer to impliment a more passing style with new players, so hopefully we will seen an improvement.

You can still be good and put in a bad performance, the 0-0 at your place was the worst side I saw us play last season (by some distance) and you finished midtabled and put in a great showing at ours.

The football we play worked in the conference, but the players here are more technical, don't tire and you've got better finishers for the goals - I think he went in with the attitude of the league has to adapt to us, which wasn't right. We need to adapt to the league - once we do that we can do better.

It's actually the same in the conference - once you go down, it's nothing like the league at all - nothing close - you've got to adapt yourself to the conference way of doing things- and that is literally by bullying sides - which we did well.

How is that being pissy, you've been crap all season - can't really argue with that - you've reverted back to being crap after a good run which has saw you hanging on again.

Hartlepool fans suggesting another set of fans have a crap attitude is the ultimate irony, also quite amusing.

Sometimes truth can hurt though, so I understand the petulance of the post

The Mansfield/ Hartlepool thing goes deeper than football, back to the miners in 84, I can't see Mansfield fans getting the red carpet treatment any time soon at the Vic, sins of your father and all that

I've just realised we have Cheltenham at home last day. Given our record against teams at the bottom, Tranmere and Hartlepool fans should in all seriousness probably build an away win at that one into their end of season calculations.

You've been embarrassing poor for a professional football club playing league football, you got hammered by part timers... You will only stop up because of other teams. You're simply not good enough and deserve to go down. Never seen such an amateurish team in the football league.

Well, you only deserve to go down if you are in the bottom 2 at the end of the season. It could be rightfully argued we are shit and are only stopping up as there are 4 crapper sides than us - which is some achievement.

Admitadly, if I could choose a club to go down, Hartlepool would be quite high on the list though - never took to them or their fans.

Hartlepool and East Durham people are hard working and loyal, when the chips are down , history shows you can rely on us, Durham Light Infantry, Miners strike, makes you wonder why you can't get along with us, of course you could wish the best to our southern cousins who wil not think twice about economically destroying a town like Mansfield

It's the important things that matter. We look forward to reviving the other CUFC Derby with the Essex CUFC... although we have as poor a record against them as we do this season against you.

I'd be interested to see Doncaster come down at some point (or Dagenham go up)... two DRFC's in the same league excites me.

Also could Chesham United ever make it into the league? They're the next highest CUFC

Hate to be the one stating the obvious here, but what kind of logic suggests that standing outside refusing to work is ''hard-working''?

I would probably suggest that it also counts as ''when the chips are down'' as well.

Not a dig against you or the people of the North East (who I am fond of) just against that statement.

I did not realise that Cambridge and Carlisle were on the cusp of promotion in order to create all of these CUFC derbies... :animatedf:

North eastern and Yorkshire miners stood together to protect thier families and livelihoods , some from the Mansfield area did not , and ultimately sealed the fate of thousands of hard working miners, to say the hard working stood by whilst the scabs worked beggars belief!

What kind of reading comprehension suggests that's what he said? When your workplace gets shut down it doesn't matter how hard-working you are if there's no jobs left.

It is not the place for a political debate that got heated on both sides.

Let's end this here and now. I could argue until i'm blue in the face why what happened happened, but I dare say most on here - including myself were not around in 1984.

Enough said
