How long has Ardley got to start turning things around at Notts? Can see the pressure mounting on him if he doesn't start getting results soon.

Even Hardy won’t pull the trigger this time, I’m pretty sure. We’ll at least see the season out with him. Absolutely zero point changing again.

Not sure about the rest, but Morecambe and Cambridge at least?
We certainly have been shitter but with the experienced new manager and a couple more signings, there's enough positivity in the dressing room and through the support for us to be optimistic about picking up 6 or 7 more wins. Not that I see us leaving this thread before the end.

Jim Bentley remains key to Morecambe's survival - and he may not be enough if off pitch issues distract or prevent a couple of loans this month.

There's enough inconsistency right up to play off places for points to be picked up by any team that gets it's act together and is ready to battle. Does that description fit Vale, County, Yeovil, Cheltenham and Crawley - who might all need 6 or 7 more wins.

If Pope is out for long then we are in deep. We battle but have errors in us at the minute. Up until December we were comfortable so a lot depends if we can come out of this form. I guess a couple of wins quickly for anyone and all of a sudden your comfy again.

Yeovil have been woeful for a couple months and go and beat Mansfield shows how inconsistent it all is though. We’ve lost 3 in 4 and been docked in 2 of the last 3 and the one we didn’t was away to the league leaders.

Im worried with Pope out although he will often play injured (he played most of the second half of last season injured!)

We’ve allegedly got a couple of players in on Tuesday could be a big day for our season!

Long way to go but yesterday was huge for us. Our home record has been ok so far and I’m hoping we can continue that in our next two home games against Northampton and Port Vale. Win one of those and nab something at Cheltenham and we should be looking pretty good.

Do you think you’d be in this position if you’d have stuck with Nolan? Not on a wind up, Geniunely intrigued.

They’d probably be in a better position had fatMan managed them properly as a chairman, that’s for sure.

Hardy day obviously didn’t work out as planned

We need 6 more wins to be safe, and after yesterdays awful performance, I dont see where we will get them from. Unless someone like Yeovil are worse, we will almost certainly save Macclesfield and go down with Notts County.

Well Notts County's defence is clearly their biggest weakness, which can happen to any side low in confidence and unsettled due to injuries, and now they're struggling to score! How can a team of promotion contenders get so bad so quickly?
Think the rot set in last season. The loan lads from Forest aside, I didnt think they had much more about them, other than a couple of ageing forwards on the decline. Didn't think they would threaten the promotion slots this time, but it's gone tits up Lolo Ferarri style, which is a real surprise.

Still too early to predict the two clubs I think. At this moment, Notts look doomed but how many times have we thought the same thing about some other club in seasons gone by? Bear in mind they've also got a few (3?) decent players out right now, and they'll seem almost like new signings once when they return to the starting line up. Would also expect them to add to their squad this month, one thing they've got in their favour over the other struggling sides is Hardy's money.

IMO, it takes a brave man to bet against Morecambe. They've been doing this for seemingly ages and they're still here. I believe Yeovil have got enough quality in their starting 11 to stay up. Macc I don't know tbh as I think their squad looks a bit thin in numbers and quality, and I'm not sure how they'll cope if some of their regulars are out for some time. But so far Sol's doing a good job.

But if Sol's doing a great job, Aspin at Vale surely isn't. It's clearly not working out and I fear for them if they stick with him for much longer. Then there's also the little question of who will they go for if they sack Aspin, and if the new manager bounce will happen. In short, I see PV as being in a worse place than the other struggling sides at this very moment.

And what about us Vanni, where do you think we fit into this? I think we’re only a two or three game run away from being right in it again or right out of it.

The lads I’ve spoken to tonight who went to the Macclesfield game said there’s no way they will go down, they looked a really good side apparently.

We have no strikers apart from Vadaine, who doesn't score. If we don't sign any this month, we'll be in trouble.
Dude, with your squad, you could sign Lionel Messi and still be in trouble. And even if you do pick up a player similar to Callum Lang like you did last season, will that stop Bentley from playing for 0-0s from now until the end of the season, just like he did 12 months ago? I doubt it.

It's on for around 46 points to safety at the minute, which I think will be a little high.

Doesn’t Ellison count as a sort of striker, or does he just play on the wing now?

They did just see our best performance of the season tbf. Question is whether we can perform at anywhere near that level for the rest of the season.

I would love to see Morecambe go down but the players/manager knows what it takes to stay in this league and I think they will survive again.

I still think Yeovil will go despite the result at the weekend.

I think it's a matter of time for Morecambe, it'll catch them at some stage, and then you'll probably never see them again

If we could play all our games at Blundell Park then we'd probably end up top half.

We have been a lot better this season in comparison to last year. Our main problem has been scoring goals and throwing results away like the Crewe and Vale games recently.

I've been more confident because of the way we've been playing that we'll stay up. We just need to stop panicking at the death and sitting back, we've gifted far too many goals because of this.

However, AJ is out for the season and we've sold Oswell to Wrexham (who didn't get anywhere near enough games for us), Piggott has returned to Wigan (pointless loan) and Vadaine is Vadaine.

If we do manage to get someone in who can score this month, we'll stay up, nothing can be worse than last season.

You're right though, when we do finally go down, we'll never come back.

TBH, I think it's quite an achievement that you've been here this long - Jim Bentley does a cracking job on the budget you've got - and are always a tough game - we've won the last 3 against you, but been very fortunate in all 3 and you don't just go down to exeter and get a point easily.

It'd be interesting to see what happened if he ever did move on

Pope out for weeks with a hamstring injury. Sent all our strikers back so have Rickie Miller who has been cast out of the squad for months, Turner who has been to Falkirk but returned and not featured and is essentially a kid and Dodds as our only strike options with Angus crazily been sent out on loan!

Massive blow to any hopes we have now unless we get someone decent in.

The mini-league is starting to take shape now, with currently anyone from Grimsby down still involved, though unlikely to really get dragged into it. It does mean there will be a lot of games between all the teams at the bottom between now and the end of the season, with us playing everyone of the bottom 9 again, other than Notts.

Last day of the season - Macc vs. Cambridge.

We have a huge three games at home now - Macc, Cambridge then Yeovil. Our points after those games will determine the rest of our season I think.

Morecambe were the big losers today. Macc still looking likely to escape, but Notts in big trouble and needing a footballing miracle.

Surprised Cheltenham are back in it, they seemed to be really pulling clear and I'd pretty much ruled them out after their impressive win vs the Dons.

Realistically it looks like it's between all the bottom 6 bar Yeovil.
