Our remaining glimmers of hope are:-

Under Ardley our three best performances have been against Tranmere, Bury and Colchester. We beat the first, missed a late penalty to beat the second, and were 3-1 up against the latter when we conceded a freak deflected goal and a dubious penalty. So maybe playing some good teams rather than those around us might be a good thing!?!

We've got Boldewijn, Hemmings and Kellett coming back from injury who are our three most creative players, so maybe they can do something.

Very much clutching at straws, but hey. We also don't play for a fortnight because Newport are in the cup, which is no bad thing either.

I'd write off our hopes of catching anyone from Yeovil upwards. We've got to hope that Macclesfield's form is a new manager bounce type thing that can't be sustained, and we've still got to play Cheltenham and Morecambe so could plausibly haul them in. All a big ask, though.

Maybe Lincoln and Mansfield might play into your hands? Both will come and attack so maybe catching us on the break if you’ve a pacey midfield could work?

Our improvement has been down to far better training, tactics and growing confidence. The last two games have shown more complete performances and our strikers are starting to score.

I'd imagine we'll only keep moving upwards now. Hopefully be clear of the relegation places in the next 2-3 weeks.

I'm not feeling that positive yet Dan! We're still doing the chasing and one set of bad results next weekend cuts us adrift again. We're in this for the long haul I think still, but at least showing we're capable of winning the battle.

Do you think you’d be in this position if you’d have stuck with Nolan? Not on a wind up, Genuinely intrigued.
A question I and I guess many including Hardy have asked.
The answer is I'm not as sure as I am if you had said stuck with HK, which in my opinion is no, probably just below mid table.

We're like the flipside of stags whom from the top have quietly and patiently welded together a fantastic side.

Enzio has a little bit of pace, he should be fit to light the afterburners by the time the stags game comes around

Difficulty Notts County have is getting an overhaul in January you haven’t the time to bed then in and gel the squad.

When we went down Brown signed loads in January but it we just struggled to get them gelled in, Chris Eagles needed time and was probably a few weeks too late, Bikey hadnt played etc.

Big couple of weeks

Absolutely spot on about getting players to bed in into a struggling side.

I think most Notts fans think we’re done, but this fortnight off(cheers Newport) could be the drink we need in the last chance saloon. Get vital players back, maybe one or two new signings, and hope that Ardley can really stamp his authority on the squad. And also not play Jon fucking Stead up front on his own. Or at all.

Feb will be a piece of piss for starters. Only playing ex non league teams like Lincoln and Mansfield.

Swindon and Bury away next for us. See you soon.
Not sure we can get a point a game until the end of the season.
Not been convicing at home all season and despite recent signs we're getting it right, it's far from certain we'll get the win.

I can’t see how we’d be any worse off chucking 5 or 6 new players in. Might as well risk it now because the current lot are taking us down.

Ardley is starting to take some flak now, and Saturday’s line up was pretty uninspiring (although I gather Dennis wasn’t fully fit), but he’s been pretty unlucky with injuries. See how he fares with the likes of Boldewijn, Hemmings, Kellett fully fit (the latter two are particularly big misses as we have no-one else to link the midfield and attack) and two weeks of the window to go at now. He’s done it before with Wimbledon, we have to pray he can do it again.

We need a minimum of 8 wins from 17 to stay up. I’ve seen us do it before, but I think it needs something remarkable this time.

The season Rovers went down, Mickey Adams had stabilised things before bringing in a shed-load of new players and loans with disastrous consequences. Unless Notts can bring in world-beaters, then more likely to survive sticking with the current squad and just one or two additions, if our experience is any guide.

They just won’t cut it Boz, confidence is terribly low, and there are barely any backbone or leaders, which has been the issue all season. We have now signed one in Jim O’Brien but we need more, plus a striker who can actually hold the ball up.

There is talent in the squad (although most of it is currently injured), it needs combining with some steel. But time is running out.

We're going to spend the rest of the season being an injury to injury-troubled Nathan Cameron away from all the progress being undone.

I hope we are clear in the next couple of weeks, but that is when the hard work really starts, Cheltenham looked like they were getting clear a few weeks ago but now are back in trouble after a couple of bad results. It's like snakes and ladders , you seem to be getting away then land on a snakes head and back down near the bottom you go.

I really want to say I think Morecambe will go this year but there Morecambe they will probably shithouse enough 0-0's between now and May and stay up on goal difference or something. I really hope both Notts and Macc stay up both local and very likeable imo. If I could choose I'd say any 2 from Crawley, Morecambe and Yeovil.

Saturday is huge. Winning would get us out of the bottom two, which would be a huge morale boost. May be temporary as after Saturday we've got a tough run of 6 games; 4 of the top 6 plus Crawley who are decent at home and Crewe who have now discovered they can win away. Plenty of snakes for us to avoid.

One small crumb of comfort for Notts fans is that at least you get to join the non league Brotherhood next season. :bg:

In denial I was refusing to post on this thread, but at only 6 points above and with our current inability to secure the full three points in matches consistently, it is starting to move further forward from the back of my mind. There is a history of clubs unexpectedly dropping like the proverbial over the years, I am hopeful that we do not add to that history but...

At the moment we have one of the spaces filled.
Unless we bring in a target man and another defender who can play anywhere across the back we don't have the players to get out of this.

We also need Hemmings and Enzio to get match fit quickly.
A fortnight to sort it as no game this weekend.

There’s no fight in the squad . They don’t care so no chance of survival sadly

it really must be terrible for you carrying all that hate around inside of you, remind me of Javert with his pathological hatred for Jean Valjean,

You can’t blame him mds he’s been the butt of his Notts mates jokes for the vast majority of his life . Let him have moment , let him enjoy a few seasons in the sun . It’s long overdue , he deserves it

A good set of results for the chasing pack last night. Grimsby fans must be looking over their shoulders now!

47 points was enough to stay up last year, we’re currently on 34. I’d like to think we’ve got 13 points in us in 17 games. In fact we got 15 in December alone.

I’d love to say I’m getting stick off Mansfield lads, but I don’t know any.

Do any Mansfield fans ever leave Mansfield?

Would you take a gamble on 47 points now if offered to you? I wouldn't as I don't think it will be enough this season.
