Years , no decades of pent up frustration and a large chunk of jealousy it’s no wonder
Frustration maybe ,but jealousy nah , i managed to cope with my forest supporting mates during the glory years ,but then again i knew they were a great side ,and a big club

Would you take a gamble on 47 points now if offered to you? I wouldn't as I don't think it will be enough this season.
Absolutely not, the point being that getting the bare minimum can be achieved fairly easily. We’ve had a tough run of games with no defence and then a brand new defence.

We’ve got MK Dons and Newport followed by a relatively kind run after that.

You had to surely be jealous of both Forest and Notts in the 70s, 80s and 90s , surely ? No comparison !

What about Chesterfield ? Other than the excellent FA Cup semi final place , and incredible achievement they are far more comparable

Ok then...1

I suppose 3,500 come to Nottingham for their big day out once a year. Not sure how many count as actual fans though.

why don’t you stand outside the away end and ask. It’s an interesting question. One that notts fans seem genuinely interested about. Mansfield fans are genuinely interested in how a club with a budget probably bigger than ours is 30 points behind us.

When watching conference football next season you’ll be able to look at your away end and reminisce.

Ok no crap ,i think our fans enjoy nutts clownty ,s demise ,is because they all seem to believe that we come from the sticks ,or the poorer part of the county which is a bit of a contradiction really ,we are not an inner city deprivation area ,blessed with violent gun crime or ,racist tensions ,we are from a former mining town which is in need of some tlc ,nutts fans think its our ambition to be big or brash like big al ,get real nutts are going to be a non league club soon ,so much for history ,it doesnt pay the bills ,a bit like big al apparently see you in a few years ,maybe in the fa cup ,if you qualify for the 1st round

This season doesn’t explain it at all, nobody can disagree. But anyone in the away end that day who can legally drink knows about football history, knows football began before 1998 and knows that historically bigger club = bigger budget = more success.

I know you don’t do football history but everyone else does. One summer and all that lol

Please don’t compare the city of Nottingham to the town of Mansfield. You’ll end up embarrassing yourself again. It’s Mansfield FFS lol

Some stats someone posted on our MB.

Some stats...covering 2003 - 2018, i.e. the 16 years since 2-up, 2-down.

1) Where were the teams at New Year that finally got relegated?
24th - 6
23rd - 7
22nd - 6
21st - 4
20th - 2
19th - 1
18th - 3
17th, 14th & 10th - 1 each

So only two teams have collapsed to relegation (from outside the bottom third of the table) in 16 years - it's really not common.

23 of the 32 relegated teams were in the bottom four at New Year.

2) What points tally is needed to avoid relegation?
Once each: 52, 51, 50, 49, 48, 46, 43, 42, 39, 38, 35 points
Twice: 45 points
three times: 47 points
Average: 45 1/4 points

46 points is enough to stay up one season in two
52 points has always been enough to stay up.

I’d love to say I’m getting stick off Mansfield lads, but I don’t know any.

Do any Mansfield fans ever leave Mansfield?

I’ve never lived in Mansfield. Or Manchester ;)

I really hate the phrase "no-go area". It demeans the people who live there and it gives the area so termed a tag that it is almost uninhabitable. It's also that people from outside London have used the term for certain areas of London that I knew personally were perfectly safe to live in and walk about on foot.

York made a cracking effort around that time. Don’t think they won a game after Christmas. Macclesfield did the something similar the season they went down
