I would say at the risk of moving off topic, but that seems to have already happened with the Notts and Mansfield arguing.
Must have been added spice with a fair few of the clubs up there all being fairly local to each other.
Its not arguing it banter

Pretty sure our average home attendance since we have been back in the league has been greater than the number taken to your place every year. Regardless, its understandable that we would take a lot. When we get to visit a ground where the likes of Man City have visited....What a treat.

How sure ? You don’t sound sure at all . I know for a fact that isn’t the case and deep down you know to . You don’t have to look that far back for evidence ;)

That’s right imagine playing a Manchester City or even a Stoke City in a league game wouldn’t that be something ? Think big and maybe one day soon it will happen haha

Probably the strongest ever 4th division I’ve seen was madness. Remember winning 1-0 at Hull late on and then their fans trying to break down the doors to the away end (we were most greatful to be locked in) or the 3-1 win at Huddersfield.

Curle was our manager then, it ended up with us playing Northampton on the last game of the season then again 2 more times in the playoffs before losing to Huddersfield on penalties after having a fair last minute goal disallowed (said had gone out of play when sky showed it didn’t)

I seem to remember Huddersfield beating Lincoln in the semis with some really dodgy offside decision at Huddersfield
Early to mid-00's in L2. Great days. Strong league.

The Huddersifled one in the PO's was a dodgy Andy Booth penalty, although we did have a dodgy offside against us, too, but that was the league game.

Leigh RMI had only one away fan at Dag & Red and Histon apparently had zero at Wrexham.

So basically you have to be prepared for anything up to just OK when it comes to the non-ex-league teams' away followings.

It’s painfully awful because it’s the same ‘banter’ every single week. Thankfully this part of the forum won’t have to endure it for much longer.

I agree, same people with the same comments start it . I can’t resist and plain refuse not to reply with some straight talk and a stand back and look more rounded approach . Same comments , around and around and another general thread impacted . I’m slightly disappointed in myself for reacting but the truth is important , history is important , it’s just a shame it starts the same way by the same few people every time .

BTW I love facts

A great feature of this site is the unfollow option. It's a blessing!

Having started a thread in the non league although it's going to be a right pain in the arse being there they all seem a decent lot. Although I think there are a few that'd get unfollowed from what they say.

I try to stay out of it, but when certain notts fans chat as much shit as they do, it’s cringe for them but heyho.

Mind next season they can have a conference rivalry with chesterfield so you’ll be safe, even more so if you go up

That picture of the Leigh fan is legendary

I’ve got to be honest, I’m not really a big fan of playing traditional non league sides in the league, let alone being in non league itself. Stevenage, Yeovil, Crawley yawn. 108 away fans

Playing the fuckers every week is going to be a nightmare.

108 will be a decent following!

15 of the 23 sides managed less than 100 at field mill the season we went up - jokes aside on whether Mansfield is appealing or not

At what point do you become "tin pot"?

As soon as you hit non-league?
As soon as you visit a ground taking more fans than the home side?
When you lose your first FA Trophy game?
5+ years outside the EFL?
When you play a league 2 side at home pre-season and it's your best friendly?
When you sign a player and he has to decide whether to give up his milk round?
Mansfield become the commentary team on Radio Nottingham?
You walk down the street with your club colours on and people come up to you to ask who the team is and where they are from?
You no longer get a mention in the tabloids football section?
Most of your side is based around a loan player from Fleetwood?
You look at the fixture list for the derby games against Chesterfield?

15 from Eastleigh, 22 from Havant, 30s and 40s from the rest bar Harrogate who took 200 and Chesterfield 400. Welcome to our world.

They are all staging posts on the way to you accepting that you're no longer a Football League club.

It’s only when you accept you’re non league that you’ve a chance of getting out of it.

Even then you need a lot of luck.

That's our problem, we have an angry impatient fan base and it's very hard to accept reality. I'm amazed we're still pulling upwards of 3k but it's starting to tail off. people (including me) have had enough. Getting relegated has been so damaging and divisive and the problems in the club run deep at every level. We're there forever. No doubt about it.
