Two tough games for Cambridge coming up, Crawley and Yeovil bottom of the form tables over 4,6 and 8 matches. After last week's Exeter debacle I thought we were down, still odds on to go down but today has put us in our best position for two months.
Massive games for all the bottom three next week, the pressure just keeps ratcheting up. If Cambridge and Crawley keep losing they can join in the fear, everyone's welcome to the party.

Working from the top down, Morecambe are almost there after a home win over Crawley. Plenty might want them down, but they aren't going anywhere it looks like. Still, big one against Macc next week, a win there seals their spot for next season. The Vale got a massive win at Northampton, an impressive result with 10 men. They are almost there, but could do with another win. Next week against Crewe should do it.

Crawley keep slipping after losing to Morecambe, still got a tough run in. You never know, stranger things have happened. Cambridge's tough schedule keeps hitting them hard, lose at home to Colchester and now have Bury and Mansfield in back to back away games? Yikes. Things must be getting a little tense over there.

Yeovil did the right thing and changed the manager, but still lost. Probably too soon to expect things to instantly pick up, but boy do they need points and quick, what with things now being out of their hands. Their run in looks tricky. I'm just not sure if they can do it anymore.

But saying that, Notts County are the classic example of why you should never write a team off. At several points, including most of this week, their own fans have been telling us they are done and aren't coming back. Then they go and hammer Stevenage and are now within touching distance of leaving the bottom 2. Plenty of winnable games for them. Got to make yesterday count with a win at home to Northampton though.

As for Macc, they get a good point at Lincoln, but they just can't seem to buy a win at the moment. Given that they are only 2 points from survival, losing against Morecambe doesn't kill them, but that is surely, surely a must win game. If you can't win that game, when are you going to win?

Still loads to play for here. Crawley, Cambridge and Yeovil are in poor form with tough run ins. Notts County are pulling surprise wins out of nowhere and Macc are grinding out points here and there to keep themselves in it. Can't call it at this stage.

Yeah we’re probably a win away from safety, it’s just hard to see where that win is coming from - three home games in a row (Oldham, Crewe and Colchester), we’ve failed to create any meaningful opportunities.

We’re probably where I’d expect us to be on points - we drew at Carlisle last weekend when I expected a defeat, we lost yesterday when I was hoping for a draw.

I expect nothing from Bury (Mayor-less, mind) and Mansfield but then we have two home games against Swindon and Newport. If we can somehow get a win or even two draws in those two, that would just about get us there.

Looking at the fixtures reckon on paper Macc's look slightly better. Can see them getting 7-9 points.

Notts easily got the best side out of the 3 though, so are capable of beating most teams on a good day.

Looks bad for Yeovil.

If Macc stay up Sol will probably claim he deserves a knighthood but won't get it cos he's black. He'll then spend all summer moaning about how unfair it is someone as brilliant as him is stuck down in League 2 and then bugger off to somewhere like Ipswich or Bolton. Or Real Madrid.

We should be there now but you never know!

2 of the following must happen with our GD
Effectively putting us 9 clear.

Notts must win 3 of 6
Yeovil must win 3 of 6 or 2 wins and 2 draws with a goal difference return.
Macclesfield must win 3 and draw 1 of 7

This without us picking up a point in 7. Despite three incredibly difficult away games our three home games are favourable, and in fairness we’ve the best away defence so could get a point or two.

Incredible turn around from Askey getting three wins and two draws from six after we’d lost 4 in a row and only won one in 14!

The who’s less shit thread. When you break it down the 3 wins from 6 sounds tough for the bottom 3!

Every weekend is huge and changes the outlook every single time

It is but Barnet won 4 or 5 at the end of the season last year!

Think you will stay up to be honest and Yeovil are gone along with Macc Town

We need some wise old heads on the pitch who have been in this situation before, unfortunately we don't have many. 9 of our starting XI yesterday were under 23 and it showed.

Which club is most fucked if they go down? And which would be able to rebuild quickly and challenge to come straight back up?

Tough for anyone to come up, Salford with their millions are no guarantees and big clubs like Luton and Tranmere took a while. It three up and three down it would be more open but one league I don’t want Vale in. Could take years!

It’s all guesswork and uninformed or biased opinion. Nobody would of predicted the results for the bottom three yesterday if you did you would of been quids in and rightly shouting about it

Well, if our form is anything to go by we look good for wins against MK and Swindon, but I’m not sure that’d be enough.

Northampton looked absolutely dire yesterday, you’ve got to fancy three points there. Although Curle has absolutely battered them after but they look on the beach.

We haven’t beaten a team in the bottom half for six months!

Impossible to say on either point for us really until we know who our (alleged) new owners are...

Crawley are definitely not out of this. I did think we would pick up some points here and there but we are awful and no real fight in the side and I can see us losing every game for the rest of the season. We cant score and we cant stop other teams from scoring. We've also been cursed with the injury bug at the wrong time. Gambin out, Payne out Jimmy Smith out. No creativity and no leadership.

If we do go we will not be back. I know that will please a lot of people here but it's a bummer for me.

Macclesfield looked to have a bit of something about them on Sasturday that would trouble bottom half sides and/or sides who don't press as aggressively as we did at the weekend.

As I said in the match thread, low on quality but you could clearly see patterns of play and what they were trying to do.

We can definitely play a lot better than we did - our midfield was poor with possession and kept getting in each others way - though I expect that was partly due to playing against a good team.

We might have games against teams in the bottom 3rd but I'd rather be playing the firmly midtable, on-the-beach teams. We've also already lost to Morecambe and Cambridge once and drew at home with Vale.

Yes that’s the cause, well done for spotting it :brill: call off the investigation, Columbo is no longer needed.

Once you’ve massively overspent and are in a world of financial trouble concerning one of your companies and your football club. Then what do you do? I’m all ears
