Never rated Norris, he's struggled to get into the team for much of the season and he'll be one of the highest earners having signed a three-year deal back in 2018. Looks like we're just getting him off the wage bill which is fine by me.

Bennett is good at this level, but that’s probably going OTT - which is in character of course :)

Not over the top at all. I haven’t seen a better one this season. When he came in and partnered Aaron Hayden at centre back, we conceded 3 goals in 7 games and not much more in terms of on target shots. On current form I’d say he is the best central defender at this level.

Rumours linking us with a loan move for Newcastle's Peruvian U23 Rodrigo Vilca... described as a midfielder, maybe right sided? not much info on him.

Owen Windsor to Newport on loan. Looked brilliant a couple of times, but shite at others. No doubt Newport will get the best out of him, though.

Now that Carlisle have the best player in every position in the league, they're absolutely nailed on for the title.
Not quite yet, we're going to announce Max Watters soon, THEN we will have the best player for every position.

Thank God you never managed to sign the best left back in the division back in the summer.

You mean the one who is on the bench for Burnley in the Prem almost every week being kept out of the side by one of the best left backs in the divison? Yeah that was a shocking call that.

He'll step up to Burnley's first team once we poach whoever is ahead of him in the pecking order.

In all seriousness shoddy, I don’t think Callum Guy is even close to being the best midfielder in the league. He’s good, and he’s perfect for the way we play, but that’s it.

I think George Tanner will be amongst the best right backs in the league, probably just short of being the best, but amongst the top bracket.

Rhys Bennett on current form is the best CB however, I stand by that.

That’s it. I don’t think there’s any more of our players that stand out and have a claim for being best in the league. They are mostly playing well together but as individuals... no.

Liam Kitching to Barnsley confirmed. £600k is the rumoured fee, not bad business but a big loss on the pitch. Cracking player. Matty Stevens to Stevenage on loan for the rest of the season also confirmed.

This time last year I genuinely thought we had the best manager in this league. :ffs:

Looks like Newport have lost some big players this window already. Be interesting to see where other teams will end up after the Jan window.

Twine may have been recalled to get a fee but sounds like Cooper is a bigger blow for them.
Losing Twine is a blow for sure - not seen a better midfielder in L2 this season. 8 goals and 7 assists are good numbers. Twine, Sheehan and Labadie in midfield are a major reason for our strong start. I doubt we will be able to match any offers from further up the food chain but an offer has been made so we'll wait and see. On the plus side Devitt, provided we can extend his loan which expired on 02/01/21, should be able to slot into the side and establish himself with a run in the team. So far he hasn't really had a look in because of Twine.
Losing Cooper is another blow - a good ball-playing centre-back. Again, we already have someone in the wings in Longe-King who has missed most of the season. Unproven and signed from non-league but he looks tidy, whether Flynn will have faith in him is another matter. Our shit tip of a pitch will make playing out from the back / tippy tappy almost impossible from now on so losing Cooper may not be too much of a loss, at home anyway. Signing Ben White mk2 would be just the ticket however.
The other loans recalled - Webb and Janneh back to Bristol City and Lewis to Lincoln barely played so will not be missed, although Janneh has potential but is easily injured.
Ryan Taylor and Labadie are back to full fitness so hopefully we can kick on. Not sure about this Windsor fella from WBA - mixed reviews from Grimsby but fingers crossed.
Second half of the season is shaping up nicely with plenty of teams in the mix.

Josh March has gone on loan to Harrogate for the rest of the season. Has fallen down the pecking order and is out of contract in the summer, so doubt he'll play for us again.

We've extended Odin Bailey's loan from Birmingham for the rest of the season.

Doubt many will make a better signing then that. Get the fuck in.

Interestingly our CEO has confirmed we will still be in the market for signings despite no manager which I assume means we will pursue our cash offer for Jake Taylor.

We are trying to make Hiram Boateng’s move from MK into a permanent deal. If we can get that done I’d be delighted. The guy is a beast and too good for this league.

Hmmm on his day I’d agree with you but in the 2 years with us he drifted in and out of form. Plus the biggest concern is his injury record...He’s had at least 3 long term injuries in his career so far.

That said, he has bundles of talent and if he produces consistency then he could be a top player in L1.

Well i don't know what division he's good enough for because it certainly was'nt the Third.

Interesting. You’re basing that on seeing a 20 year old play 9 times then? Players never improve do they!

He very rarely gives the ball away, he’s strong, always plays forward and will play regularly higher than league two in my opinion.

C*eltic currently preparing a £1m+ add ons offer for our new academy gem.

Turning out to be quite a money maker this youth setup. Who needs fans through the turnstiles when you can just give half a season to a young'un and ship him off for that kind of money

He's done ok. Been eased in, and looked decent at times. There's definitely a player in there trying to break out. Plays with a maturity that belies his age, which makes it difficult to judge him fairly, because on odd occasions he will do something you expect of a 19 year old and get criticised like a seasoned pro.

We've signed Spurs youngster Jubril Okedina on loan until the end of the season. Looks like a signing that will act as cover at right back/center back.

You've got to ask yourself why he only played 9 games then ? His first game for us he was outstanding -- But that was it. I think it was Shrewsbury away he was taken off after 20 mins , dispatched from the club next day with Darrel Clark stating he had no time for players who did'nt try. I'll leave it up to you.

Football is all about opinions and players will improve with age. Classing a player who you only saw a max of 9 times at the age of 20 who may have had a few attitude problems because of it doesn't mean they won't go higher.

Players knuckle down after rejection and go onto better things and from what I've seen so far he will play higher and is certainly good enough.

Rumour of Jordan Stevens on loan from Leeds. Think his loan at Swindon has been cut short.
