I like him, he's still relatively young, wins most aerial battles. decent threat at the other end but is prone to the odd brain fart but I'd keep him for whatever league we end up in.

He's exceeded all expectations we had of him but if Liddle isn't beside him in a back 3 he's really looked a non league player.

I'd keep him as well like the vast majority of the squad if we go up. I can't praise them enough really, been such good ambassadors for the club and put a bit of joy back into following Pools. They all deserve a crack at the football league.

Oscar Threlkeld signs for the Bantams. Worked with Adams previously at Plymouth.

Happy with this one.

A very decent player and an extremely decent person.
You have made some good signing to be fair. But your problem is going to be the bitter sad clown in the managers office. You can probably kiss goodbye to entertained especially away. The guy is the undoubted king of the dark arts.there was actually some idiots, thankfully very few, who actually suggested him for the Prenton hot seat before Mellon came back. I’d rather see a return of Barnes or Adams before I would welcome Cooper. The man is an anti football maggot

We’d likely have him in a back three with either Legge or Martin and Smith. See what happens next few days, those “in the know” say it’s a done deal but have to be honest I know little of him. Some of our fans have been watching the play offs to get a view.

Have to admit when watching Hartlepool games he has been a big source of interest. With that said I haven’t really noticed him a great deal. I suppose with him being a defender though they mainly get noticed when fucking up in some way so that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

He's been good in a back 3, left footed and adds balance to the side.

Our current lineup with plenty of gaps looks like this:

GK tbc Scott Brown can fill in although he’s a coach

RB Jake Caprice
CB Sam Stubbs
CB Alex Hartridge
LB tbc

CM Archie Collins
CM tbc

RW Josh Key
CAM Matt Jay
LW Joel Randall

CF tbc

We really lack experience overall. Liklihood is that Key will play RB so we need a first team RW. The only striker at the club is Ben Seymour who’s not too good, so we need 3 new forwards. We are also hopeful of getting Jokull Andresson back from Reading to play in goal.

I think Taylor will also bring in a first choice experienced CB to play next to Stubbs and we need more cover in the midfield areas.

New signing Josh Coley will most likely get a lot of game time, particularly if Joel Randall goes. A big couple of weeks ahead.

As mentioned above, Oscar Threlkeld becomes the latest addition. Very happy with this one.

I'm not sure the players we've signed are enough to transform one of the worst teams in the league last season into the best! We'll have a Top 10 budget, so anything around that area would be a good season.

no but there's definite value there. you were amongst the rank outsiders to win the league when i put the bet on. 50/1. there's no way anyone will have barrow down as a pre season fav for the bottom 2 at this rate. so my motive was the 50s being wrong rather than actually thinking barrow would win the league.

you do never know though, you need a solid spine, a few goals and some luck/momentum in this league.

it seems like you've got a bit of money (enough to be signing genuine quality league 2 players at least) which instantly puts you ahead of a number of teams at this point in the summer.

TRFC to date;

Keepers J Murphy S Davies[injured]

Defenders C Macdonald LB P Clarke T Davies N Knight-Percival CB K Hayde*?

Midfielders W L Feeney K Morris CM J Spearing C Merrie R Watson

Forwards J Burton* C Jolley*

Out of contract no announcements G Ray O Khan K Woolery

* young players unlikely to start ? suggestion of 1 year deal not confirmed yet

Minimum requirements right-back and two more experienced forwards

At a push we could field a 352 formation with Feeney filling in at right wing-back like he did occasionally last season.

Tom Davies played in 3-5-2 formation when on loan at us last season.

At the moment I think we are looking at a 3-5-2 but that could easily change with us as still a lot to bring in. Although we switched to that last season I think a lot of that was a temporary fix to a very leaky defence.

GK: TBA

LWB: David Worrall (not ideal as doesn’t quite make the most of his talents there)
RWB: James Gibbons

CB: Aaron Martin
CB: Nathan Smith
CB: Dan Jones (on the left side of that)

CDM: Brad Walker
CAM: Tom Conlon
CAM: Jake Taylor

ST: James Wilson
ST: Devante Rodney

There’s a decent enough core there but needs a lot more obviously. There is an argument our biggest move whoever we sign was extending Conlon though.

are Bradford the only club that seam to announce everything at like 8am or 9am on a Sunday - when nearly the whole world is asleep....?

We’ve a new media manager - early bird anorl that.

Stevenage

thoughts Stevenage fans?

He served a purpose with his ability to play at both full back positions but was very much second choice. Wouldn't have been against bringing him in to play that role again but would need to step up defensively if he was going to be first choice.

Defensively for me he was questionable when defending crosses from the opposite side, just seemed to get caught out far too often. He seemed comfortable enough on the ball and happy going forward, was always keen to get a cross in but lacked an end product. Just one assist I can recall last season.

If given time I think there might be a decent player in there, would need to sharpen up defensively and work on his final ball though.

Our search for a goalkeeper moves on as Ryan Allsop looks set to sign for Gillingham ahead of us, we had him 8/9 years ago in 2012/13.

Vale are back in for pre-season training from Wednesday so am hoping might see a bit of movement in terms of signings in the next couple of days. Not the end of the world if we don’t as it seems relatively early to start training but the longer the squad have together the better.

I’d be disappointed if we weren’t looking at Watters on a loan deal. He’d be just what we need.

He's clearly too good for L2 level, someone in L1 should snap him up.

Is Watters any more than a rumour punted on FB? That said I can't believe Cardiff stumped up any more than a down payment and a loan would be the first step in cutting their losses. I wonder if signing him cooked Neil Harris's goose as manager.

Friday is a biggish day for us. Power has to prove he is able to fund the club until September - after saying we were insolvent and he had no means of continuing funding the club a couple of months back.

Backtracking now as the noose closes round his pudgy fucking neck.

True. And from Cardiff’s perspective, you’d imagine they will want him to test himself at that level rather than heading back to L2.

We’ve made our first signing under Rob Edwards, Opi Edwards from Bristol City on a 1 year deal. 21, rm/rwb.

Stevenage have signed Jake Reeves from us. Pretty underwhelming year from him in the Vanarama, but has been good at this level in the past.

Slightly bizarre that Alex Revell thinks he’s getting someone who offers ‘energy and intensity without the ball’!
