Excellent midfielder at this level, very technical and has a great eye for a pass. Can sit in the more holding midfield role and spread the play but also excelled a bit further forward too. Found it trickier last season in a struggling side and was presumably one of our highest earners so no surprise he moved on, but should be a good signing for you.

not his son by any chance - don't FGR managers do that?

I doubt it!

Two-year contract extension for Sam Hornby. You won’t find many better number-two GK’s at this level.

Good move for Bradford that. Surprised at Hornby not looking for an opportunity at a club he could be #1 as he is certainly good enough for that. Wouldn't have been completely against him coming here and at least competing for our spot.

Thanks for your views...this sounds like a good signing for us...whilst Elliott Whitehouse played pretty well towards the end of last season, before his injury, we haven't really had anyone decent in that role since Carl Winchester headed off to Sunderland.

There was talk of him leaving, for that very reason. I think the club have thrown some extra coin at him as a matter of convenience - him and Rich O’Donnell are two very capable GK’s at this level - everyone’s happy.

Signed Oli Hawkins from Ipswich, undisclosed fee, signed for a presence in both boxes according to the Gaffer, seems pretty favourable opinions from Portsmouth and Ipswich fans online thus far.

So a brick shithouse then, in other words.

6ft 6. So yeah I suppose, doesn’t really suit our style under Clough, football been decent under him so it’s a bit of a weird one.

Always good to have a solid target man in the squad though, that’s something we didn’t have last season at all.

Demetriou re-signed on a 2 year deal. Good, dependable 50+ games per season centre-back.

Looks like you pipped us to him, last I heard Jackett wanted to sign him and Joe Piggott from Wimbledon as his first choice targets.

Hawkins can play CB as well if needed.

Dan Happe has signed a 2 year extension with ourselves, I thought he'd probably move on - but if he did we was entitled to compensation as he us under 23, so that probably threw a spanner in the works. His form in the second half of the season was also quite poor, but he wasn't the only one.

We're pretty well stacked for centre halfs now, we need 3 strikers though - Possibly 4 if Ruel Sotiriou is moved on.

We're apparently trying to sign Kabongo Tshimanga from Boreham Wood - His goal record in the last few seasons is very impressive.

A less shit matt rhead? haha.

on the assumption clough plays his usual style it’s nice to think he’s potentially planning for plan B

Don’t think it’s a fair comparison, he’s 6ft 6 but seems to have a bit about him and coming from a higher division, not from JCB haha.

Think signing him and Danny Johnson is a clear and obvious step up from what we had last season, especially in terms of actually scoring goals.

Given the goals we created under clough to what we scored was a scandal, take another third of the chances next season and it’ll make a real difference.

I hate saying it as puts pressure on but i’d be expecting a good tilt at the playoffs next season at least

Looks like we’re taking a punt on Lee Angol.

Any feedback Mansfield/Orient fans?

CONFIRMED: initial 1 year deal.

He’ll be a fringe player, utilised from the bench and in the Paint Pot comp, I imagine.

Another player expected to be announced today/tomorrow - thought to be Yann Songo’o.

Strange signing from us. Will be backup like you said but its pretty poor backup all the same. I thought last season showed us the need to have some quality in reserve?

Hmm, I’m not sure. Looking purely at his stats, you can see that there’s a player in there somewhere - certainly appears to have decent pedigree.

I suppose it’ll all depend on how else comes in, but I’m reasonably happy.

The first real ‘meh’ new signing from us, squad filler as the one year suggests but not one anyone will be jealous of.

Surprised to see Angol is only 26, seems like he’s been around a lot longer to be honest. Suppose with signings like that it all depends what sort of role is planned for them and never know it could pay off. Mullin at Cambridge was pretty much no better than average until last season and Adams seems the kind of manager to get something out of these sort of players.
