Also signed Sam hart from Southend I ain’t got a clue on this lad

We had him on loan about 4 years ago. He’s a left sided utility player. Can’t speak to how he has played in recent times but he was a good option as a squad player back then. Just unfortunate he played for us at a time things were starting to melt down behind the scenes.

Maybe we've got a few cards up our sleeves, but this really feels like the most uninspired transfer window we've ever had. I know expectations never match the reality, but I've never seen such universal negative feedback about our signings, with the exception of this lad because he's never played. Coupled with a manager with zero leage expierence, I do feel like this could be a really bad season for us.

That said, plently of amazing signings have been rubbish, and some of our best players turned up with zero fanfare.

Yeah it’s crap

Ricky Holmes came regarded as fucking shit didn’t he

Our five signings are:
Hallam Hope (forward who had success under Curle for Carlisle)
Sam Hart (attacking left-back comes back up north)
Jordan Clarke (experienced no nonsense right back)
Harrison McGahey (fast but injury prone centre back)
Jayson Leutwiler (would be perhaps the best of the bunch, seems a good goalie)

Fair play, looks like Curle really is being allowed to sign his own players. Most if not all seem to have started in top academies, which was something in common with last summer's signings too.

Kaiyne Woolery heads north of the border, 3 year deal with Motherwell. Would have liked to see him stay, will miss his pace, but never going to be able to compete with offers like that.

Looks like we’re taking a punt on Lee Angol.

Any feedback Mansfield/Orient fans?

Talented but shite because of his attitude. Gives up the second something goes against him. When he’s not moaning he’s injured. We’re well rid.

5 good solid signings today for Oldham, looks like Curles signing his own players.
Keep Bahamboula and Mcelany and weve got the spine of a good team at this level.
More to come too so hopefully a good season

Sam Hart and Harrison McGahey are both ex-Dale and both decent players.

From what I've seen of the other three, Leutwiler is a competent keeper, don't recall Clarke at all and a traffic cone would be more of a goal threat than Hope...

McGahey and Clarke will be solid for the combined 10 games they're fit.

We couldn't afford to keep either, wonder what Oldham are paying them.

Clough scoring three goals in four years and averaging about 15 games a season, but it doesn't seem to be ringing alarm bells for Carlisle fans?
Obviously he could be a great investment, but I'd hope his second year of his contract is optional!

Weve apparently held discussions with Ex Colchester winger Callum Harriott, looked good in 2019/20, but poor last season.

Well worth a punt IMHO. Everyone at Colchester was dogshit last year and we’re crying out for some pace on the right.

If he's playing as a left back then god help you. If you play him further forward and don't expect him to do any defending then he'll be one of the best left sided players in the division.
He has zero positional sense, is a walking red card (think he managed to get sent off 3 times for us in the two spells) with his reckless lunges at players, lazy to track players and lets players get past him way too easily.
But then going forward that is a different matter. His set pieces are okay, but running with the ball and in open play his crossing ability is simply sensational. He can beat opposition full backs for fun. Just play him as a left winger and you have a fine player.

Hallam hope is our first signing of the window. Thoughts please Swindon and Carlisle fans he’s always impressed when he’s played against us
This was the least surprising transfer this summer so far. Curle fucking loves him.

He did score probably the best goal I've ever seen live in a friendly.

If Clough gets even close to the form he showed when he broke through for us originally he’ll be one of the best players in the league next season but like people have said above he’s very injury prone. Not sure he suits the beech style but if he stays fit and gets a run of games it could be a great signing.
I'm sure if he's any good for us, Barrow will snap him up in January

We're being linked with ex Raith Rovers attacking midfielder Regan Hendry.

Edit now confirmed. 2 year deal.

He's better than any of the bang average L2 scrapheap crap you've signed so far this season..

Looks like you pipped us to him, last I heard Jackett wanted to sign him and Joe Piggott from Wimbledon as his first choice targets.

Hawkins can play CB as well if needed.

Jackett must have been smoking something pretty strong if he thought Joe Pigott would sign for a L2 side

Good keeper but cocky as fuck. I felt for Torquay but not for him the way he acted during the pens gesturing exactly where he wanted his statue to be built.
