Mustapha Dumbuya was another trialist for us yesterday. Any good Notts County fans?

Yeah, good player, just forever getting injured.

I really like Muzzy. For some reason though he's made of glass. He also lost a lot of confidence and stopped passing the half way line at one point last season.

I also believe he was our highest earner last year

Also the CMS stuff is a bit tedious now. We are clearly interested and have offered a deal. Whoever does sign him will get a good player, but one who has not scored many goals in the last two seasons. No where near his prime anymore.

I like Muzzy, don't think he was particularly good last season though. He's better defensively than people think but worse going forward than people think, if that makes sense. His injuries are a huge issue too, I think he managed to injure just about every muscle in his body during his 2 years at Notts and you wonder if all of that will eventually hamper his main attribute which is his pace.

Craig Mackail-Smith expressed his desire to join Carlisle United 2 weeks after the season finished. His agent put a lot of effort into selling his client to the club to get his dream move, but we turned down the chance to sign him.

Obviously if Luton do sign him, they'll do so knowing that they were his backup plan.

Cheers lads, like Demspey the way our scouting system works is our scouts calculate when the best time to sign players is before they become too alert to higher profile clubs than us and there value shoots up.

They may not be ready straight away, but buying them before they are and turning them into a player who is more than capable and selling for a profit is something we're good at - ala Rhodes, Pilkington, Novak etc

For what it's worth, I know Nichols is on this list we are watching to sign once he's hit a certain level. We missed out on Grimes to Swansea, so I don't think we'll want to miss out on Nichols.
Any idea how long you'd had your eye on Dempsey out of interest?

We had Mustafa Tiryaki play (and score 2) for us at Lowestoft today. Think that would beat Orient's signing of Ollie Palmer as the biggest "meh" signing of the summer

As above! Feel sorry for Harriman, but hope he does well at Wycombe and gets a permanent move somewhere, for his sake.

Hate QPR, me.

I believe he's of Turkish origin, is an Aries and his favourite colour is Taupe. His old PE teacher, Mr Gordon said he'd never make it as a footballer as he was too small.

I loved him when he was here, was gutted when he left (weirdly enough it was Money who seemed to force him out for little apparent reason). He's had major injury issues since which is a shame, he could have had a very decent career if he'd stayed fit.
I remember an interview on 3CR with Money after a game at Kettering. Basically what he said was that despite Craddock having 12 months to go on his contract, Money wasn't going to play him until he showed long term commitment and signed an extension. Craddock said that he wanted to see how the season panned out first, although he would be happy to stay.
Personally I still feel that Money pushed Craddock out in order to give his lovechild, Barnes-Homer, a free run with no competition. Money wasn't only arsey with Craddock, he also released Gallen - between them they had scored about 45 goals between them in the previous season.

Without wishing to go over well trodden ground but I would go as far to say that Money's treatment of Craddock and preference of Barnes-Homer, was the beginning of the negative swell against him amongst the fans.

Well that and Pavel Besta.

So very odd he is on trial at Cambridge.

Pavel Besta, now there's a name to bring back memories of Tamworth away, and Money's tantrum after the game, still on youtube I think.

Zdenek Kroca was a class signing however, almost out of nothing. Just turned up for a trial one day on a recommendation and went on to become our best centre half that season.

Mansfield signed Krystian Pearce three days ago, don't think it's been mentioned.

Rumours abound that we're close to signing Jack Payne for £75,000 from Peterborough. Would be a cracking Vincelot replacement.
Payne is too good for league 2.
I would be surprised if Posh were to sell him for £75,000 when they reportedly paid us £750,000 for him.
Would be a fantastic signing for you if true though, and there is the Hessenthaler connection there so you never know.

Andy Drury about to sign for Eastleigh. Talk about a transfer not working out! This time 12 months ago a (then) League One team were talking about building their whole team around him in an effort to get him to stay while we were piecing together a six-figure bid for his services. Can't imagine we'll be getting much in the way of a fee for him now, although he was almost certainly our highest earner last season so to get him off the wage bill will be nice.

Such a good player for us five years ago, looked a shadow of his former self last season. Occasional glimpses of real quality, just enough to tease you that he might recapture his best form. In theory he should still take the piss in the Conference, but then I thought that about him in League Two...

I'd actually be pissed off if that happens. If he's that cheap, then we should be in for him, no question at all. Way too good for League Two

He's been transfer listed by Peterborough and apparently it is only 75k they want. I would be very surprised though if this actually happened... But we can hope!

I don't think it helped Drury that we had next to nothing up front last season. There were times he was visibly frustrated with what was going on in front of him. But on the whole he was nowhere near as good as billed and what we all had hoped. Just another to add to the never go back column.
