The rumours linking us to him seem questionable at best, doesn't seem as if we've made a bid as yet and what with signing Aitchison not sure we'll bring in another striker of that ilk.

A back up target man is the only possible thing we might do I would have thought.

We have plenty of forwards, to add to Matt and Aitchison...I guess the hope is that one of Stevens, Allen, Young or March make the step up...surely one of that quartet is good enough to be considered as back-up.

We have a few people training with us at the moment, one of our fans seems to have identified one as Alex Addai who plays (released?) for Cheltenham but was loaned out to Solihull.

I assume he's shite so will fit in with the rest of our team if we sign him.

Runs like shit off a stick, but tends to do so into dead ends. Fantastic as a late sub against tired defences, but not one you'd start too often.

Top drawer took first part of season to get used to pace of league games after that played well and scored some worldies you got a good young player

Not new signings but we’ve given pro deals to GK Harry Lee who’s been on trial at Chelsea and Everton and striker Sonny Cox who’s been on trial at Man Utd. We assumed Cox in particular would leave as he scored 4 goals in his trial game for Man Utd u16s. Huge news as both are so highly rated and they will get chances to play with us. Delighted.

Signing Lee and particularly Cox is huge news. I still think we will lose Cox to Liverpool or Man U before he gets a lot of first team appearances but at least we will see him turn out for the first team now.

I agree. McAlmont was one of the best players I saw against us last season too.

I was hoping we might be in for him, however, it's understandable our dear neighbours Leeds would want him to play at a higher level next season as a natural progression for him.

Didn’t have a particularly good game at ours with Cissé kicking him off the pitch, but he still scored an absolute blinder. Talented lad

Let’s hope that’s not why we signed him! In the past we’ve had players like Cherno Samba (on trial) and Omar Koroma (ridiculous 3 year deal) who were great on FM but useless in real life.

If you look at the type of players linked you can only doubt whats being given to Challinor as well as the rumours about loads being off.

We’re set to sign striker Sam Nombe from MK on a permanent deal. Was at Luton last season too but seemed to not take his chance there. Hope he will be a good signing. Another young and pacy player which Taylor really seems to be making an effort to sign this summer.

We've also got Harry Bunn on trial, a man who last played for York in the Conference North and is constantly injured.

Theo back to Colchester on loan seems to be on the cards. Would probably be best all round. Suspect a loan deal where we pay an agreed percentage of the wages will be the most likely outcome. Just hasn’t worked here though he did improve once DC took over.

Possibly, the issue is say with Theo we gave him a very good contract to sign with us and from his perspective can well imagine he is thinking why should I just move on for potentially less money. We were dumb enough to give that contract to him so will have to wear that one I’m afraid.

Burgess has been unlucky. He is a decent player but never got a run of games under DC. More than capable at this level and to be honest I’d have kept him round the first team squad.
