Cass is brilliant, he just signed a new three year deal with the Mags, can play RB and CB but looks loads better as a CB, honestly you need to see this kid play, he’s gonna be a Newcastle starter in a few years time, bank on it.

Apart from a dodgy 45 minutes at Halifax ,Cass was outstanding.
I can understand Newcastle wanting to continue his development,so I was expecting to go to a team further up the pyramid.
If you do sign him, you’ve an excellent & versatile player on your hands.

Quigley's off, but can't see him stepping down to Wrexham - he's got one more shot at playing in a higher division.

It's a shame, but I was expecting bids to come in for him and it'll take a club record fee to get him. Just hope the rumours that he's downed tools aren't true, and that the club are just not risking him getting injured before they sell him.

A move to Shrewsbury would make a lot of sense.

Whatever fee we should get for him at least you'd have a bit of faith that it would be reinvested properly this time around.

Aaron McGowan in from Kilmarnock

Right back with good reviews - happy with that.

Another one in from Scotland for the McCobblers

Seems like we're signing players today?

First one Reagan Ogle from Accrington? I'm none the wiser but it's a signing.

Have you got 11 players yet? Could be a team full of GKs but at least you’d be getting there!

Cass now confirmed on a season-long loan. Think that pretty much finishes off our defence now.

Would say just need another winger and striker and that should be good I reckon.

Never heard of him but Pools fans seem complimentary.

Seems he can cover Gibbons (and will start as hes out until September) at RB

Martin, Legge, Smith and Johnson centre halves

Benning and Jones Left Back.

Winger and striker from being complete and possibly the West Brom Trialist Solanke but hes only 20 so doesnt affect the squad cap.

If you've loaned Cass and don't start him, you must have the best back four/five in the league, I'm telling you, this lad is the cat's pyjama's.

I'm both envious and incredibly jealous in equal measure.

We've just signed Harry Anderson, released from Lincoln. Looks a good signing. Was in their L2 team that got promoted.

Anderson was linked with Bolton earlier in the summer so I'll post what I said to them at the time in the L1 forum.

I'm a little surprised he's gone to Bristol Rovers, I wouldn't class him as a Barton kind of winger having seen his Fleetwood side a few times.

Without checking, I'm guessing he's our most successful player ever. He joined us on loan at the beginning of 2016/17 so has won the NL title, L2 title, Checkatrade Trophy and will now take part in the L1 PO's having been involved in the L2 PO's as well. Every time the Club have improved, he's improved with it. Many players have fallen by the wayside and couldn't keep him but he has.

Just clocked over 200 appeances for us. Very high work rate, never lets anyone down, full of energy and chips in with 7 or 8 goals a season. He's a strength and power wide player rather than a tricky one. He doesn't have any of them up his sleeve. I worried for him when MA came in but he improved technically and won him over for a bit but having seen Johnson, Rogers, Scully and Grant playing wide, I'm not sure he's quite what MA wants from a wide player.

This season he started well but caught Covid just before Xmas then missed two or three months to injury. Definitely not injury prone, he's really robust and one of those who could play twice in a day.

There seems to be a little confusion over his contract. It was reported there was an option on his deal but earlier in the week Appleton said something about needing to clarify things.

You forget he's only 24. Even when we first signed him at 19 or so, he looked like a mid-20's guy.

It'll be a shame if he leaves. I'd keep him personally and he's also the last member from 2016/17 so he holds sentimental for the fans as well.

Summed up by this goal he scored from 1:15.

As it stands, Bristol Rovers look a strong outfit and expect them to be top 3. Now I’ve said that, they’ll probably be shit and Barton will be sacked by October!

Not sure about top3. A lot of big L2 sides have made good signings including Bradford, Tranmere, Mansfield, Port Vale and Orient. Im quietly confident of play offs though

We had Harry in our youth team pre EEPP (or whatever). Sort of hoped he was coming back.

Decent player

Looks like first game of season at the Mill is a six pointer title decider then.
