‘His all-action approach has endeared him to the fans with an ‘announce Manny’ response accompanying every post the club makes, from ticket news to match reports’

Any one who does that ‘announce’ bollocks should be banned. Constantly polluting clubs social media like that, fuck off. Football clubs will announce signings as and when they are done. Until then pipe the fuck down and stop acting like excited 5 year olds.

I see Wrectum have signed Paul Mullin. Wonder if they will get the 32 goals in 46 games version or the 41 goals in 214 games version.

Wrexham, Stockport and Notts County all have squads miles better then ours, how depressing.

The club is really listening to my complaints as we also sign Harry Bunn.

If you ignore the fact our last two signings last played for Conference North clubs they're great signings

Only thing really lacking for Mansfield is a another CB, a solid first choice type signing.

Do think we lack pace too, but we still need to shift O’Keefe and Stech.

Rumours that Sunderland have made 4 bids for Josh Key, the latest being £1mn.

If he goes I will close the door on the way out.

Thought you'd consider selling a prospect for a seven figure sum a good thing. I mean it's always disappointing that they go but it's hardly unusual for Exeter and the money you get for them is so often disappointing that when it's actually substantial it should be a good thing shouldn't it?

Probably better than the sort of stuff fans have become known for polluting clubs' social media with lately.

We will have got in the region of 5mn for Ollie Watkins going from Brentford to Villa, so it's not a patch on that.
After losing Williams, Bowman, Taylor, Ajose, both keepers, defenders, and not replacing Nicky Law this would be another massive blow.
Key, Randall and Jay are three players we must keep at all costs if we are going to challenge this season.

Rumours of Ben Gladwin returning to STFC. Be great at this level - injury record notwithstanding.

I'd assumed you must have assembled a pretty kickass squad with all that money. So struggling to bring players in?

Seems like the money this season is in the national league, or at least a fair few players who you'd have thought many L2 clubs would fancy have rocked up there.

I still think we’re two or three players away from where we need to be in terms of having enough quality to ensure we stay away from trouble. But there’s plenty of time between now and end of August.

Pleases we’ve got the keeper situation sorted. Had this awful vision that we’d end up putting Hanford as our number 2.

We need another centre back in my opinion. A Bennett replacement. Defensively we were decent overall last season for a change, I want that again. If we get that side right we should stay away from danger. Left back cover needed as well if poss, at the moment Dickenson is our back up left back which isn’t ideal, we want him further forward. We actually only have 6 defenders competing for 4 positions. Not enough.

In an ideal world I’d also like another striker but I don’t think we’ll get one. Abrahams or Mampala might come of age to lead our line, and we have Alessandra or Clough as kind of false 9s, but being greedy I’d like one more proper number 9 a bit more proven. Won’t happen though.

for those new to League Two, this is a level of optimism you rarely see... giddy almost!

Plenty of time in the transfer market to ensure we stay away from trouble.. plenty! You almost never hear that sort of sanguine attitude, that lack of urgency from him when it comes to the annual race to avoid relegation.

According to a Q&A session last night we are definitely in the market for a replacement for Quigley. A trialist playing in our game against Bolton today may fit the bill.

Based on the current squad, we fall short. Nombe is probably our best signing so far, but the players we have lost mean we are in deficit.
Its galling when some of our better players like Page feel they can do better at somewhere like Harrogate and the manager has said that players dont want to come down here.
Lots of emphasis on youth players stepping up as usual, and we can still pull it round with two or three signings before the start.
Bookies still have us fourth favourites though, with Bradford.

Well yeah obviously.

Still annoying though, every post from our club at the start of the summer about season tickets or whatever and all you see people saying is announce signings, announce Dokes etc again and again and again. Even after we sign someone people still start doing it again a day or so later.

Clubs should make a stand and say if anyone shitposts ONE more 'announce someone' tweet the club will not sign anyone and will publicly point the finger of blame for there being no signings at that specific fan.

I think the media team love it. I didn't even see any of these #announcemampala tweets so I think they're exaggerating them a bit, possibly to make him feel extra welcomed. Last season when Rhys Bennett was mulling over a contract extension the media team encouraged fans to retweet the announcement from a few months before of him signing and Bennett himself acknowledged that it made him feel wanted to have the club mobilise the fans on social media.
