Rumours of Politic off to Italy to play in Serie B for Cremonese. That is a huge blow for us if this is true and would be a very random thing to get wrong if it is.

Another huge blow... does feel its starting to unravel for us. Surely we can offer him as good a deal? They are about the size of a mid sized league two club attendance wise.

They are but a quick glance at the table will tell you they are in with a chance of playing in Serie A next season. A chance at maybe playing at the San Siro against Milan next season or having to go to Stevenage or Morecambe etc it’s easy to see the appeal.

We never really found a starting role for him but as a change up option he has won us games this season. Very hard to replace.

Is that immediate or on a free at end of the season? If medical is tomorrow does that mean he’s actually leaving Vale now? If that’s happening it may explain why he rejected our deal earlier in the season too… no way this has come from nowhere. Must have been in the works for a while if true.

Its a huge blow, especially if Gibbons goes as well. Window has taken a real messy turn. Lets hope we have something up our sleeves.

Does explain why Evatt seemed so final in his most recent comments on him. Does seem to all fit together now as to why you never thought of recalling him.

Another lesson to never get too attached to loan players.. Definitely did a good job for us though.

Got our money's worth I guess with what he made us with the goals against Burton for the third round tie.

See what Dazzler and Flickers come up with now.

£50k apparently, surely we could of paid that after what we've spent on the past week and tried at least.

Have to keep Rodney now unless we get someone else in so guess that move to Walsall or Stockport will be off the table.

I can’t remember an occasion in the past where a team that began the window right in the promotion mix and then has undergone a full scale rebuild on the squad like we are erring towards. Seems unusual at the very least.

It is a huge gamble and seemed a bit unnecessary, we were flying before the injuries.

Flitcroft made too many changes in January for us and completely bottled it. Got to be very careful how you recruit, he brought in players like Jorge Grant and Ajose to go straight in the squad and it disrupted the team massively.

Cremona or Stoke? That's probably a bigger factor.

Bolton from their end confirmed they’ve accepted a bid for him so off to Italy for him then. Can’t really begrudge him an opportunity like this in all fairness.

In the short term we really need our big hitters like Tom Conlon to wake from their slumbers we’ve seen in recent games. Devante Rodney remembering how to be a footballer would be welcome too.

Its been a dreadful 48 hours and the positivity from last week as just been zapped away. Really feel flat about our chances now if I am honest.

I’m hoping it’s the case the club have been planning round this for a while as a move like this doesn’t just happen out of nowhere. It’s nothing a win against the Salford hobby club won’t help with tomorrow. Guess all eyes will be on if Gibbo is in the lineup or not now.

Too much smoke on the Gibbons one for no fire there I think, and would explain why Hussey was signed.

We now need a right back and a wide attacker really... and a win tomorrow to settle the nerves, another performance like Saturday and the panic will set in.

As Politic had a recall option you’d hope the club have a back up option because we could have recalled him to play for us during Jan anyway.

A rumour on Exeweb has come up saying we’re in for Anthony Grant. Any Swindon fans heard anything?
The thing with Grant is that between now and the end of March he is committed to playing 6/7 games for Jamaica. I think that is going to put a lot of clubs off. Not sure what’s gone on with him at our end but him playing internationals seems to have excluded him from the team.

Can’t think of a single Swindon fan who’d ever say a thing against him.

In that case, I’m not too keen. Don’t see the point of chopping and changing to accommodate one player, even if he’d improve us. As you say, that can’t go in his favour when trying to sort a move.

Montel Gibson was absolutely fucking dreadful for us, never seen somebody look so out of place in all my years watching us. Genuinely looked like a Sunday league player, maybe it was nerves, the shite he was surrounded with or the lack of crowds, I’m not sure but I can’t see how on earth he’ll ever make it as a league footballer.

Alex Hunt on the other hand is a cracking player.

Mansfield have announced O’Toole contract extension - really good news.

Think the Radfords got involved to make sure this happened.
