Hemmings looks like a decent signing for Rovers, but I'd be very surprised if we paid £80-£100k for him, unless we got a comparable figure for Ryan Watson, which seems unlikely. Shame that it didn't work out for Ryan at Rovers, not sure we saw the best of him in his brief time with us.

Banks was rarely getting into the starting xi at Rovers last season and Barrow offered him an 18 month deal, so even though he wasn't one Hill was keen to move on, Ollie left. The move seems to have done him good, scoring more than during his time on Wirral.

What do we reckon, will Bradford come back with an improved offer or did they chance their arm at a low price signing? If it came off, great, if it didn't, no worries. That's what I hope anyway.

Apparently he went because a 3.5 year contract was on the table - and we wouldn’t go that far as he is 30. Jimmy said it’s a non starter.
The agreement was he went in the summer but his agent pushed the move now and tranmere came good after Salford pulled out.
good deal for him and his family at his age.

Has it been confirmed that it was us? I'd be very surprised if we actually put in a fee tbh. Proper tight-arse chairman.

ITKs from both ends seem to think it was.

How’s he got on for you as he was brilliant on loan for us last year, absolutely destroyed Cheltenham on their own patch.
Failed to shine to be honest. Seemed to get into good positions, didn't deliver the killer pass or shot

He is very good technically, doesn’t look out of place with our first team. Have a look at the 2 goals he scored this week for our 23’s in his first game back.

Downside is he is very lightweight and built like a teenager so will probably struggle with the physicality. Grimsby fans could probably tell you more about that though.

He is very good, did great here so then Wednesday recalled him and we enquired about signing him permanently which was obviously never gonna happen. Easily good enough for League 2, you will love him.

Loved is a strong word. Like you say, good technically and decent dead ball delivery but as it came into winter and we went out of form, so did he. Capable of controlling the game but depends what other midfielders you’ve got playing. Quite slow though and lightweight though.

We've signed Luke Matheson on loan from Wolves, remember him scoring at Old Trafford for Rochdale before.

I'm assuming Keith Hill knows him from Rochdale which is why we've signed him.

Just to echo what Denzel said, he struggled to show too much quality. However, in his defence, he didn’t get too many consecutive starts so I wonder if he struggled to find a rhythm. Expect him to be loaned out again this month to a L2 club.

I’m surprised at that as we were obviously poor last season and he thrived for us so I’d have expected with him being in a better side for him to really push on.
On another note how is Podge getting on?

Yeah, I think there’s a good player in there and it’s probably just a case of us not being the right fit for him, for whatever reason.

Pudge is doing ok. Tidy player, scored a few and works hard. I imagine he’d work well alongside a strike partner, but as we play one central striker, it’s been hard for him to fulfil that role at his age.

A rumour on Exeweb has come up saying we’re in for Anthony Grant. Any Swindon fans heard anything?

Only that he's definitely off somewhere. I've been disappointed with him this season and I think Garner has wanted to get rid for a while now. Be interesting to see how he does for you if you do sign him. He's a great character so I wish him nothing but good wishes.

Cheers. Apparently the person on Exeweb is friends with a Swindon fan who heard from a member of the Swindon board that he’s coming here. Could be bollocks but should know either way soon. Always liked him and if he did come here, hopefully at 34 he could still do a job and complement our midfield.

Rumours abound tonight that James Gibbons is off to Sheffield United. Explains his dropping today and a huge blow if true.

Don’t really know. He hardly played. Thought he may get a chance when James Rowberry took over but he didn’t make match day squads.

I thought Missilou looked OK the little I saw of him, admittedly only on iPlayer. Puzzling signing really, we just always had a couple of better options for his role.

Can’t for the life of me believe that one about Gibbo to Sheff United. He’s a really good player for us but he is not a Championship standard player. Decent signing for a L1 club sure but not any higher at this point I reckon.

Have to see, they may see potential, if he goes there I’d hope we could loan him back until the end of the season.
