You are all correct. Akinde isnt a championship level player, he's our player and you are about to find out if he is good enough for league two.
Twelve months ago I doubted he was top level conference, but playing regular has made the world of difference and I now believe he is the best striker we've had since Dougie Freedman.
Akinde's not a Championship player in a million years.
Sorry but pre season friendlies don't really mean very much. He will still need to prove his abilities in competitive league matches before anyone will see him as anything more than a good conference striker.Well he bullied both a PL level Palace defence and single handedly destroyed MK Dons. The bloke is an absolute machine and can cause problems for any defender with his size. You saw last season what Akinfenwa done to Liverpool... While he isn't that enormous he's quicker, more mobile and still strong enough.
He may not set L2 alight but he will cause defences many problems, guaranteed.

We had Akinde in League 1 for a short while, he didn't score once. He was gash for us and we were glad to see the back of him.
Somehow he's managed to find some form in the Conference, then again N'Gala was terrible for us last season but has seemed to do alright in the league below.
Yeah I've seen that. Great goal.he scored a cracking goal for us vs. sheffield wednesday in league 1.
ran from the halfway line. put it in the corner. got us the 3 points.
theres a great youtube video of it somewhere.
Not sure how I'd feel if Troy went to Orient. He's probably our best defender, and would be hard to replace. However, he is likely to miss at least 10 games a season through injury/suspension, and we'd never get a settled defence. I also imagine he'll be one of our higher earners.
I think it'd be good business if we got rid of him and brought in a decent replacement, though that's easier said than done.
You wouldn't be paying a fee. We're prepared to offload him for nothing.First I've heard of this I have to say.
Don't want him though, we don't need to be paying fees for cripple backs.
He's worth atleast that to us, so no chance we should sell for anything less.
Whether or not it would be worth the buying club to pay that, well...
obviously it dosn't take alot to impress a simpleton like Ainsworth he did sighn steven CraigWycombe have signed ex Watford midfielder Luke O'Nein after he impressed Gareth Ainsworth while on trial, i doubt he'll be starting in most games but he can play in a few positions which is vital seeing as we're going to have a small squad again this season.
If you're reading them on Luton Outlaws, you should really know better!
He was meeting with Still today for a final decision supposedly, although depending on who you believe that might just be a smokescreen for a deal that has already been done. Notts County's chairman claimed he had already signed a two year deal over the weekend, as did Alan Swann (chief sports writer at the Peterborough Telegraph).
Whatever happens, it's unlikely anything will be formally announced just yet for the same reason as before - Brighton are still paying him an obscene wage until the end of the month.
Our Chairman and our local rag both think he's signed for Luton
He has two years left on his contract. If the chairman thinks that without him we will be close to the relegation spots then it would take a huge offer to let him go.For a striker in the final year of his contract, £500k-£1m would be a fantastic amount for Barnet and I think you'd be crazy to reject that sort of money on the principle that he'd leave for free the following summer. Unless I'm underestimating the amount the Hive makes? Every club below the top four in the PL 'has their price' as such.
As for his ability to step up, there's no doubt he could (and possibly will) step up to League Two but two things work against him the higher you go up the leagues. His physicality alone wouldn't be enough in L1/Championship, and defences will be more organised. With all due respect, Barnet fans will agree some of the defending against him last season was comical against the lower teams, and a lot of his goals were scored in the same manner.
There's no doubt he's a vastly improved player from the one who played for us in League 1, but I'd still fancy that League 2 is the maximum level he could score 10-20 goals a season.
The Brentford/MLS rumours come from the same place the 8k a week rumours came from.
Someone's arse.
