He has two years left on his contract. If the chairman thinks that without him we will be close to the relegation spots then it would take a huge offer to let him go.

When did he sign an extension? Fair enough if there are two years left, but as saddlerrad says I think £500k+ would surely be accepted.

Crazy how inflated footballers' transfer fees have become mind, given we sold a 27-year-old Rickie Lambert for £1m who had scored 30 goals at League One level in 2009, and 26-year-old John Akinde who has scored 30 goals in the Conference in 2015 apparently would exceed that worth!

The original contract was two years plus one year option. Like I said before no one will offer over 1m for Akinde, he is worth more to us than he is to any other club and I doubt we would accept an offer until Jan depending on how the season is going.

the whole 'he's worth more to us' thing isn't really relevant though because £500k also means more to Barnet than it does a Championship club.

If you think you might lose 1.2m again from relegation then 500k looks pretty small. My point really was that Barnet FC will have a higher asking price on his head at this time than any club is likely to pay. Regardless of how much money they have he is still a conference player who has failed at league level and that will severely hamper his valuation to anyone else.

Mickey Demetriou (LB)has been transfer listed due to him falling down the pecking order with new signings, however according to MM he has had offers from some League 2 clubsbut he has turned them down, any ideas who as I have not seen anything here?

Carlisle fan will know him as he scored a cracking header in the 94th minute at Carlisle last season. Good signing for someone, I think Cambridge might be one of the teams who were interested?

We're in for a left back so it's a possibility.

True Joe is quaility but he has done some sh*t transfer buisness
1 let McClure go
2 sighned steven craig 8 goals in 2 seasons (thank god he's gone)
3 sighned a 30+ yo when what we need is some young legs to run in behind defenders

£1m would be ludicrous for a forward who has only ever scored consistently for one season at conference level. He may be a late developer and go on to do great things now that he has matured, but the only John Akinde I remember is one that constantly fell over and didn't do much else. If I was the Barnet owner and anyone offered me £500k+ with a sell-on, I'd take it.

He done it the season before he signed for us with Alfreton.

I don't want to make him out to be the next messiah or anything like that, but I genuinely think some on here are under-estimating him based on his previous at other clubs. He's been exceptional (at conference level) for two seasons now and has proven himself to be a real handful whenever he's come up against defenders from leagues above. Yes he needs to prove that he has actually improved at league level, but he's clearly a better player than the one people are remembering here.

I can only hope other managers underestimate him as much.

Let's be honest, if any of us were told that we're going to spend £500k+ on Akinde, not 1 single person on here would be happy.

He'll do okay next season, probably get around 10-15 goals, well done him. So will at least another 10 players.

We are in the market for a left back and there were rumours we were signing one today. Would be a shame if he has turned us down as I rate him at this level.

Iffy Allen signed on a one year contract following his release from Barnet, he's impressed a lot of fans during his trial.

Yeovil will have to add a whole four extra hoops to their kit

It's ok, we've made the white hoops wider this year

Orient's announced signing of Connor Essam now being held up because Dover are saying we haven't actually agreed a fee with them. I know who I believe...

We've signed Kevin Osei from some Belgian Pro League team. Never heard of him before obviously, seems to have done alright in the trial games and has a top quality Youtube compilation to back up his skills. Can pay up front or on the wing so gives us plenty of options in terms of formations. Reminds me of the Zoko signing this one...

I suppose it's worth a short-term deal if they think he's good enough, no idea if he'll be any good in English football though.

I'd say that's our attack complete now, Wyke, Rigg, Ibehre, Asamoah and now Osei.

Still think another central defender is needed, especially if TAH leaves.

Osei was excellent in his 25 minute appearance at Bradford on Saturday. Caused them all sorts of problems with his skill and quick feet. Reminded me of Francois Zoko at his best.

I'd only heard of him before because I was marseille in FIFA career mode 2 or 3 years ago.

Sam Clucas has gone to hull for 1.3 Million, meaning we get 260K. Not bad making 360K on a player that cost us 20K and was going to leave for free when his contract ran out.

Good that we put a clause in. He's made us both abit of tidy profit. I don't think Murray will see any of the money this window though.
