Keith Curle used to love a match day signing when he was here as well.

I remember us signing Derek Asamoah on the day of a game. Scored on his debut if I remember rightly.

Can’t say I know anything about him, assuming he’s come in as a replacement for Crawford who’s ruled out until back end of the season.

Surprised if we dipping into free agents etc that we haven’t gone for a defender like

Must be saving the one paid for transfer on a CB in January :fl:

Hartlepool with their 20th signing of the season.

Hard to blame Raj Singh now surely

"Few more bodies in January" I imagine too

Quantity over quality fella, bloke will happily pay pennies for 20 players than the same amount for 4 or 5 quality additions.

Stocky mentioning Pools again, he told us this week Stockport don't care about us?

The owner releases the funds. It's up to the manager or if you have a D.O.F/Recruitment guy or whatever to utilise the budget.

The owner could be blamed for putting poor people in positions but he's clearly released funds.

Firstly he’s put the wrong people in positions, that’s a fact.

But I’d love to see your fans reactions if you sold any half decent player worth any thing at all and replaced them with free agents from non league or Scottish lower divisions. It’s the worst squad we have ever assembled, through poor recruitment and there being very little funds available so we have had to shop in the bargain bins.

Today we didn’t even have a full time physio, Barrows staff had to come on to treat one of our players, the clubs being asset stripped and ran into the ground,

Having signed a number of free agent rejects on shite wages is not good enough

To an extent that's true but lots of deals had been lined up throughout his tenure, he's had a look at the wages and tried to negotiate down so players and agents tell us to get fucked.

We end up with what Optimistic Poolie says above

Yeah the chairman releases the funds but what've we signed with those funds, others clubs buy better from below or EFL proven players, we followed Hartley's obnoxious retort of it not mattering that a lot of of his signings were Scottish and untested in the EFL, they've all looked well off the ability levels to play down here, well off.

Hartley and Singh are responsible for probably the worst pre season we've ever seen, from the farcical length of appointment time to the glorified golf trip to Portugal, Hartley dismantled an already weak looking squad and made it worse a few weeks before kick off with the flash sales of Byrne and Bogle who were replaced by... no one.

We need at least 5 good/impressive signings in January to have a chance of staying up, whether Raj likes it or not we'll need to spend and bring in a bit of quality or we'll be back in the glue leagues.

Squad was already piss poor and needed improvement in January, but the number of injuries recently, especially in the defensive positions surely must force Raj’s hand

There’s now literally only Tumilty Murray and Paterson who are our fit defenders.

We’ve signed Callum Harriott who I think was at Colchester up until last summer (winger).

He is an excellent player for this level. Been without a club for a couple of years because he had a court case for an alleged rape, but was cleared a couple of months back, so how quickly he'll get up to speed is probably the only issue but he should be a great signing for where Gillingham find themselves currently (as well as the obvious goalscoring issue!).

Thanks for that, obviously it’s going to take him a while fitness wise, but even a ten or twenty minute spell for us at the moment would be something.

We’ve ended November without scoring a league goal.

Apparently we had to borrow a team coach from another league two club for the Barrow game.

Am I right in thinking your chairman is the same guy who oversaw the demise of Darlington?
