Gray was 21 years old that season. He had been playing part-time for Hinckley since 2009 and was still playing in a far worse team than Green at the time (7th vs 1st, 70 goals vs 92 goals). He was also predominantly played as a right winger throughout the season. Gray still managed 17 goals (all from open play, he only took one penalty and missed it) and 9 assists from 44 league appearances.

Green was outstanding that season, no question about it. But IMHO it was always absolutely clear that Gray had the potential to far outstrip anyone in the league at that time.

0% penalty success rate is pretty shit though.

How the fuck did he not manage to get into Crewe's hilariously bad defence last season.

Still early days but it's fairly astonishing how well the foreign bunch have adapted so quickly. We still need a token terrible one for a laugh though, I wonder who will step up to the mark.

John Lundstram ( released by Everton at the end of last season) is having a medical with us tomorrow which, if he passes, will result in a permanent contract..
Apparently he has turned down offers from Blackpool, Wigan and Crewe before accepting ours.

There is a good player in him. We've had him on loan twice, he played for us at Wembley as well in the 2014 playoff final and did well for us when we had him that season - A very good passer of the ball.

We got him back last season and he was crap, a shadow of the player he was the season before. Given the state we was in and another club he played for last season - Blackpool, I can't say I'm suprised!

Matty Blair is sitting down with Murray to discuss a contract. He's proved his fitness and the deal is on the table for him.

We had Darryl Flahavan and Jake Sinclair (brother of Scott) playing in a reserve game for us earlier today.

Mildenhall has been poor in the first couple of games this season and it appears Darrell wants another goalkeeper on board if possible. Flahavan was always someone I considered to be a good player, but he's been sat on Bournemouth's bench for a few years and is now 36, so I'm not sure how he'd fare.

McCleod could play Saturday...FOR CRAWLEY!
Turn up for the books. Personally can't see us keeping him but if he plays he is one of the best strikers in this division. Yates says he doesn't have an issue with him and he is back around the team. Why they couldn't figure that out earlier is beyond me.

Think that's a good signing personally, not that I know too much about him, just my first instinct.

50 odd clubs scouting our Jodi with bids tabled from Charlton and West Ham for £100,000 and £250,000.

When they go nearer £800,000, they can talk to him.

Tens of millions of pounds from the PL, a free, state-funded stadium and they offer a paltry £250k. Fucking tight-wads.

Chesterfield goalkeeper Aaron Chapman has joined us on a one month loan. Not sure if he'll be in with a shot at a first team role, but I wouldn't be against Mildenhall being replaced in all honesty.

Manchester City have snapped up one of our young keepers, supposedly paying £9000 in compensation for the youngster. Oh, and he's only 12.

Latest on McAnuff is that he's thought to be training with Blackburn. Good. Means he's even further away from E10 than we thought.

There should be rules stopping this sort of stuff, thats ridiculous! Unless... is he related to Rakish? If so then bargain.

I had £20 on Blackburn to be relegated at 17/1. Looking good.

£9000 is ridiculous, what chance do we have really if we find a good player and someone can nick him for roughly the same price as 5 weeks of Billy Paynter's wages?

We've got Dean Leacock on trial. I know Curle had him at Notts County, not sure what he's like these days, but no harm in looking I guess.

At 12 years old I think I'd rather take our chances and see how he turns out. Newcastle and Man Utd were after him as well so he must have something about him.

Deja vu. We did profit a bit of that Dean Henderson lad at ManU but there is a issue with money in football where the money these big clubs can sign young talent for is such a pittance to them, they don't even need to waste the time scouting them. And clubs like us don't even get the opportunity to see the talent we produce playing.
