Very promising young attacking midfielder/second striker that can play wide or through the middle.
Currently playing on the left for us.
Small, quick and tricky, has scored 3 or 4 carbon copy goals this season, where he cuts in from the left and curls right footed shots in to the far corner.
Gets fouled/bullied a lot due to his size, doesn't get all the fouls he should do, and then has a tendency to lose his head a bit, but he might grow out of that given he's only 20.
Very useful in transition/counter-attacking, although can make the wrong decision/be a little greedy at times, but again his decision making will probably improve with age.
Still a bit raw, but definitely capable of playing at a higher level. One of the few bright points from our appalling run in league 1 second half of last season.
QPR and Fulham were allegedly interested last month, but god knows if that's true.
Missed our last 2 games with "illness" but not sure if his head's been turned/someone is in for him...
Seems only a matter of time, but will be gutted if he goes for less than £1m...
He has been ill. I very much doubt he'll be going anywhere in January. He still has 18 month's on his contract so I'd expect him to go in the summer unless someone comes in with an offer well in excess of a million.

We are being heavily linked with Ayoub Assal. Any Wimbledon fans? Or anyone who’s played against him this season got opinions on him? I’ve seen some decent hype about it but haven’t seen him live.
He's a good player. However I think he's more likely to go in the summer. He still has 18 month's on his contract so I don't think the club will be in any rush to sell him in January. His value won't change much between now and the summer . If an offer of a million plus was made you never know .

Kyle Knoyle from Doncaster is a rumour at our end.

Is this Ayub fella really worth a million? Admittedly only seen him once, bambi on ice. Do the stats back it up?

17 goals in 78 games from midfield and just turned 20. 12 of those being in 50 games in league 1 at age of 18/19

I don't think you understand what a £1 million release clause is.

And in a team perpetually fighting relegation during that time. We can't have won more than about a dozen of those 78 games.

I'd agree with the general assessment that he's potentially very good but needs some bad habits sorting out quick. If he does join Bolton and they go up then I think he has the potential to go a long way once he's away from the basement divisions and with better players alongside.

Quick hat-trick.

Ali Al-Hamadi from Wycombe on a two-and-a-half year contract. Like the sound of him.

Mmm. He didn’t get a huge amount of chances with us - mostly in the Pizza Cup, a few sub cameos, and only one league start - but I never really saw potential in him to be an L1 regular.

He did OK when we sent him on loan to Bromley though:

I would have thought him more likely to go back to that level than League 2 though.

That said, sometimes players just don’t work out at certain clubs and it is what it is. He has good pace and aggression, so I’m not going to be all doom and gloom, but I think that’s a 6/10 signing from what I’ve seen of him.

Lots of clubs including orient were in for him. So time will tell

Oh really? Didn’t know that. Yep, perfectly possible he’d fit into another side with a different style of play, we may well have been to much based around target man play for him to ever shine.

Kyle Knoyle coming our way apparently.

Any good?
Someone just posted on our forum but nothing at all from the club. In respect to Kyle he’s in his last six months and won’t sign a new contract so it makes sense for us to get a fee. He’s very good getting forward but he can’t defend, we’ve used him as a RWB and a right sided centre half

Yeah he’d be a RWB for us.

Happy to see we are making an effort to lower the squad age, still think we need one or two more after Johnson.

Keke Simmonds and Bim Pepple to return to Brum and Luton respectively. JMD is coming back from his loan spell at Yeovil, but it's not clear if he's back and going back out somewhere or if he's here to fight for his place. Stephen Wearne has already confirmed he's back from his spell at Torquay to try and get in the team. Bit of chat about whether Lewis Richardson has gone back to Burnley. Glad Simmonds and Pepple have gone, would rather keep Richardson around. Much happier about having Wearne and JMD on the bench than Simmonds and Pepple.

Good player but he frustrated me tbh. Never had a good game whenever he started. Good luck to him at Motherwell.
Was a great option for you off the bench last season, I was really impressed by every time I saw him. Is he just not good enough for L2?

Hughes said he hoped to have another loan in today. Only rumour at the minute is Jaheim Headley from Huddersfield but that seems to be fan talk more than anything.

He is a great impact player, he's more hindered by the fact we don't play wingers so gets shoehorned in as a wingback or as a striker. He's definitely not strong enough yet to play through the middle and doesn't seem to have it in him to play at the same level for 90 mins. His family used to sit next to me at the games and his dad mentioned he is asthmatic so I think that could have something to do with it to be honest.

He's a decent player and surprised he has gone to Scotland, he would have been a good pick up for someone in the league or a top national league side. 10 goals in 32 games last season shows he has something.

Rated Whitfield higher than him though, still think it was a mistake letting him go in summer rather than holding on until January.
