Is he a winger? Or can he play central midfield? We play 5-3-2 no matter what.
Creative attacking midfielder, can play centrally and out wide. Think he's been playing centrally for Plymouth.

When we played 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 in previous seasons he played as the most advanced of the 3 centre mids.

This season we switched to a 3-4-2-1 and he was generally played as the left sided number 10 behind the striker.

Coming up to 33 now I think, but still more than good enough to play for any League 1 side so his head could possibly be turned but the rumour is that he's off to Wrexham anyway.

3-4-2-1 is too complicated for Parkinson but we would have the personnel to play it.

Mid-20s and one year on his contract - you’d take £250k of Wrexham’s grubby Disney money.

A fair point when you put it that way and funny you should say that because the rumour going round here now is that Moxon is heading off to Wrexham in the summer, whether we go up or not. :hb:

This will be as good as it gets for the majority of clubs in our league.

Our first summer signing is about to be announced.

Connor Masterson has just been named on the QPR release list, so a lot are putting 2 and 2 together on this one....

I’m assuming another signing on peanuts and going to Gillingham for the vision and beautiful Kent countryside?

You really can't read can you.

But I will entertain your comment. He's had two loan spells here, clearly has an affection for the club and has now signed a permanent deal after being released by his parent club. And yeah, he's probably quite excited about the fact that we've been the 2nd best team in the league this side of xmas, and with a similar squad we're likely to carry that form into next season, so the vision is pretty good.

I've no idea what he'll have been offered financially, and quite frankly as long as it's within our wage structure then it's fine. I apologise if our wage structure happens to be bigger than yours, but in our defence we've been in a higher division than you for the last quarter of a century before this season, so forgive us if we feel we can offer better terms than you can.

But no, I'm sure we're bound to have offered him 10k a week and a reacharound from Neil Harris once a fortnight just because we're shopping in a slightly different market to a lot of League Two.

We're being linked with RB Josh Dacres-Cogley of Tranmere, as are a couple of other L1 Clubs (Vale and Burton). Looks like one Aberdeen tried to sign up in January (presumably on a pre-contract agreement?).
I'd have Josh back here in a heartbeat.

Even though he was injured for half the season he still rates as one of the best loan signings we've had.

I don’t think, in the history of Grimsby Town FC (well in my living memory), we have ever signed a player less than a week after the end of the season, even if he’s been on loan with us. I assume you will have paid him enough for his agent to say - you are not going to get better than that mate…or is he shagging someone local…

Seems an easy link to make. Whether he’s a Charlie Austin replacement or partner in crime, who knows. Personally, I reckon Austin is off.

You do realise he’s been on loan with us before we had any cash don’t you?

He was on QPR’s release list this morning, so I assume that’s why we could announce it.

Connor has openly said he wanted to sign for us, but at the same time he would have offers from clubs in a league above so let’s not kid ourselves. We will be paying him a decent wedge. We will also be paying Lapslie, Hawkins and Dieng good money in order to lure them away in January.
So whilst we won’t be paying the sort of the money the Brat Pack will, we will be offering the level of wages required to get the quality of players we want.
Not being Billy Big Bollocks here, just being realistic.
A whole new ball game for us.

Yes I did - just expect agents to do their dirty work and stretch things out a bit longer. Deal was probably done a while ago though

Pools linked with former York midfielder Olly Dyson.
We'd best get in quick, before another club hoovers him up.
Stuff like that is wasted on this forum mate, on the other one it would have had 7 or 8 likes by now.

Yep, out of contract. Obviously wasn't gonna sign again at Stags. Posted on Twitter with two pics of him celebrating/playing for Walsall and two of him warming up/on the bench at Mansfield.

How come goalscorers don't suit Clough's style, Andy Cook too?
Cook just seemed unfit when he was with us, plus he wasn’t a Clough signing and hated us.

Not sure why goalscorers don’t seem to work under him. We scored the most amount of goals this season, yet our top goalscorer had about 10 goals.

We could have offered him Gillingham peanuts and he still wouldn’t have signed. Definitely a decision both parties wanted!
Are you going to crow on about wages all summer? It’s going to be a little tedious if so.

It was just a question, but I’d wager Hawkins, Lapslie and Johnson would have got you in the playoffs.

2 you sold for a combined fee less than £100k, and one you loaned out in this division. What on earth is your club doing?

Mckirdy doing his best to endear himself to the Hibs fans.

Can see him back in league 2 next season but would any clubs want to take him back after continual toddler like behaviour? Garner got a tune out of him, season long loan to Colchester maybe?

We replaced Hawkins and Lapslie with better players, Alfie Kilgour and Dunn been immense. To be fair Hawkins is not a defender so the comparison is unfair, but Dunn is better than Lapslie and he’s got the stats to back it up comfortably. Not that I don’t rate either because they are good players, and will be important for you next season.

Oh and we brought in more money in January than we spent, that includes Louie Reed too - great business.

We missed out on the play-offs mostly but not entirely due to injuries.

Flynn seems to know how to get a tune out of DJ, so I'd have him at Swindon for sure. Could he play up front with Charlie Austin? Less sure.
