Forde would be first choice if he was fit but he seemingly never is, you could say the same for a lot of the squad. Tunnicliffe and Hayden I'd probably have as first choice all day long but they are always injured. Fletcher, TOC, EOC too are all first choice players but you just never know if they will be fit from one game to the next so can't rely on them. It's a bad joke by this point.

Barnett is still a very capable wingback and a good player but his output has certainly dipped at this level up, not producing anywhere near as much as last season. And he loves a niggle as well.

No doubt this Bolton will be taking up a hospital bed shortly after signing as well.
Strange about Tunnicliffe. When he was with Crawley he was pretty much ever present.

Welcome back to the New Lawn, Jon Parkin.

He'd still walk back into our side (and around the pitch). Fitness won't be a concern as it never seems to be with any of our other signings either.

Still can’t quite believe his open goal miss in our play off final. :bl:

I prefer not to remember that one :ffs:

Kind of player that could look brilliant one minute and like a fat pub league clogger the next, often during the same game. Was very good for us overall though tbf, even without barely moving. Top bloke as well.

Looks like we might be buying ourselves a 6 foot 4 Gambian striker from our owners' other club in Denmark. That'd be a different option..!

Starting to look like Nichols is happening if it didn’t already.

I think I speak for everyone when I say I whole heartedly approve of us neglecting the defense in order to fund 6 figure fees for massive strikers from abroad. Demba-Nyren, Bajner, Eli Sam…a tradition like no other.

It is Notts heritage. Announce Jatta immediately.

I still miss Eli so much. That time he got subbed on against Wrexham cos the rest of the squad was ill after he’d not been seen for months and had two-footed someone within 12 seconds still brings a tear to my eye.

I had heard we were in for him, but you seem like a much better bet I'd have thought if it was a choice between the 2 clubs.

I imagine location would be your biggest bonus, someone our end mentioned you too.

Nichols is too honest for his own good. Play him up front and he will get goals...not twenty a season....but goals. Ask him to play att left midfield or att midfield or front of a diamond and he will do a decent job but will not score goals.

He is also one off those players that refs don't give fouls too.

I’ve liked Nichols most times I’ve seen him play against us. Tidy player and I think he’ll be a good fit but our fans are expecting Lesgue 2’s Alan Shearer I think. He’ll definitely play upfront, DKD our best player when played behind the front 2.

Omari Patrick name keeps getting mentioned our end, he played and did well for Sutton last night after a few games coming from the bench by the looks of it so not sure. Another player who’s looked alright against us a few times, quick and strong so will give us something different and adds some pace with Oates being crocked.

Patrick did play well last night. I’d be surprised if we let him go as we are quite light in attacking wide areas. Coley is awful and we can’t have him being our wide right man. Duke-McKenna looks very good on the left.

sounds like the Bolton signing is a done deal, and have been linked with Jamie Lindsay from Rotherham

Good signing for Wrexham Luke Bolton, gave Bowery fits with his pace the other year and he is far from slow.

Apparently a signing today for us

Also random account twitter rumours of Alex Hunt going to Carlisle, which is a strange one because he's not getting in our side at the bottom of lge 2 and he's also not the type of player you need in a relegation battle.

As we share a Radio station the snippets I hear from some of the fans that come on is that they're building a side capable of going straight back up if they do end up coming down. The majority of their signings aren't proven in League One. By the sounds of things they are also selling that Moxon who was their standout last season to Portsmouth.

Still odd though as Hunt, despite having technical ability in abundance, is far from proven at this level.

I’ve heard no signings expected from us now.

Reckon we’re deciding to go for top three rather than win the league and save our budget for the summer when we have a lot of players out of contract and hopefully in league 1 so we can bring in better quality than we could now.

With the big signings Wrexham and Mansfield are doing today I think they will probably catch us - pressure is on for them to capitalise whilst we still await our returning players.

Adam Mayor to Millwall sounds like a done deal. There's a good player in there but I'm happy we've cashed in. Had a good start to the season but has tailed off a bit recently, can't really defend and loves a booking.

His agent and dad were constantly complaining and spouting off on social media apparently, trying to force moves away in the last couple of windows, so this might be a blessing in disguise for us.

Struggled a bit with us, not helped by injury breaking his time up with us over the time here, had a big mistake in him and swtiches off at times (Carlisle away, Middlesbrough in the cup) but should benefit more from game time in L2.

Absolutely correct. Our first aim is to keep the Emerging Talent scheme ticking over, second aim probably keep building the academy infastructure, third is promotion to League One.

I'd still be over the moon with play-offs really when you consider the vast sums being spent at Wrexham, Mansfield, Gillingham and Notts County etc.

No offence to other clubs but we don't do panic buying. We know our targets and go for them. That is why we are where we are I imagine.

No offence taken here.

League leaders are under zero pressure to strengthen or win a rare title even factoring such a huge squad budget. Promotion is the aim and promotion = success.
