Grimsby fans, heard anything about Abo Eisa coming back to us?

A mate who’s ITK has messaged me this lunch time telling me that Hurst is keen on bringing him back to Salop. I always thought it was mistake letting him go after less than a year with us in the first place but that was down to Sam Ricketts.

Stockport are spent up, that's why they aren't signing anyone. Challinor being told NO MORE.

Don't think so pal.

Something called the Joe Lewis money. 180k for our 4th choice centre half. There's just no value in the market to spend it at the moment.

It’s crazy Stockport were able to sign anyone this window consider the squad on the books already.

Could argue we haven't signed anyone, but we have made the move for McNicholas permanent from a loan signing made in Aug so was already with us...

I think reading between the lines all our main targets this window have gone to L1 apart from that RB with the big tits.

Main issue for us coming into the window was our midfield but Camps, Powell and a returning Evans have all stepped it up in recent weeks and we managed to get Bailey on a permanent after a bit of wrangling with Salford. Sarcevic has come back weeks ahead of schedule and Collar isn’t too far behind.

Longterm we are obviously looking for someone who combines the best of Croasdale and Camps but finding that player for the right price in this window was always going to be a tough task.

We’ve got a LB upgrade in Bristow and though we don’t expect him to have anywhere near the same impact as Barry, Richards should hopefully give us something different off the bench.

Still could do with a RB with Knoyle out and MSH’s injury record but apart from that I’m happy enough. Our lack of a left-sided CB while Pye is injured not a problem for me as it stops DC switching to a back three again.

I can’t see it, Eisa is a funny one though. He’s had a goal of the season competition all on his own but his general play is pretty average. He very rarely beats his man, doesn’t contribute all that much overall then steps up and slaps one in from 25 yards.

The only way I could see it is if we were in for Charlie Kirk, then it could be argued we can get rid of a winger. He’s under contract until the summer as well, so you’d owe us something for it.

Already got rid of Khan too remember. You're right though, he's an odd one. Some ridiculous goals and he's unplayable at times when he can be arsed. However, when he's not firing, which let's be honest, is most games, he offers nowt. Doesn't track back and is wasteful in possession. Nowhere near good enough for L1. If we can get rid and replace then I'd do that, if it's for Kirk too I'd be snapping hands off. Would be some meltdown on The Fishy too if he went.

Are we the only side not to sign anyone this window?
I was going to say us but then remembered we have signed a keeper who is so good he wasn't risked in the BM Trophy... not even on the bench!

Does renewing a loan count ? We got Maguire for the rest of the season.

There are 22 players at the club. We only play about 15 and one of those (Gladwin) has just had an op on his knee.

As an edit to this. Maguire is our only loan player.

Solid enough defensively if you can stand the odd clanger but not good enough going forward. Frustrating player but I think he's been harshly done by when you look at the state of Mullarkey of late. Should have been in the side in recent weeks. Can only assume a RB is coming in today or tomorrow.

Denver Hume except he's a LB!

DKD is dead behind the eyes so they’ve not managed to sell him the Gill$ dream. Presume they’re skint and we’re having to bail em out by paying Laps wages.
It would be strange.
Rumours at or end too. He hasn’t been getting starts but unless we are bringing someone in then I find it very strange indeed.

Luke Bolton and Midfielder from Rotherham to be done tomorrow apparently.
Twitter rife with Colby Bishop rumours, deluded if you he's going to come here

With the striker it seems that because people don't know who it is they are just posting their own personal wish lists onto social media.

Do you need a RWB and a midfielder?

I kinda get the extra striker rumours given Fletcher’s age and injuries alongside Dalby and Palmer not contributing but aren’t you well stocked elsewhere.

RWB definitely not a priority unless Forde has an issue he can't get over. Midfielder we could do with, outside our starting 3 there is a real drop off in quality. Could do with a striker or 2. I'd say striker and a CB who can run without getting injured priority for me

Think that signing puts to bed anyone thinking we’re some big spending contenders. A very bizarre one…

Colkett's a very talented player but we've just not been able to keep him fit. He'll come on for half an hour every now and then and play a sublime pass and you'll sit and dream about the player he could be if he could play a run of games. Then he won't play again for 6 weeks.

We’ve signed yet another former Premier League wonderkid who can’t settle anywhere and has endless injury problems? It’s over for the rest of you, lad’s going to be pushing for a place in the team of the year.

He does seem to have a Dan Crowley ish profile. Technically good player who was a big prospect years ago at a Premier League club and his careers just gone everywhere and nowhere. I guess the difference is Crowley showed a bit domestically whereas Colkett never really has.
