Would complete our entirely new defence.

We're quietly putting together a decent team this year, I think. He'd be the fifth signing with experience of promotion from this league. Still need a winger or two and a striker, though. Bring me the lord Jonathan Forte.

Seriously? How far have your expectations dropped? God get us out of here if that is the Idolatry we can look forward to

Matt Green and Jabo Ibehre will probably be the best strike partnership in League Two next season, genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they share 50 goals.

I've heard from a couple of sources today that a fee is almost agreed, obviously Mansfield are trying to get as much as possible for him.

Curle is still looking to bring in new faces, possibly another this week. We've currently got 18 players (with one offered a contract) and he's said he'd be happy with a squad of 22-24.

To be fair boys and girls, I'm pretty sure that the likes of Grimsby and Doncaster (and almost every other side in this division) would be happy to have Matt Green in their side. The fella is a proven goalscorer and scored 16 last season up front on his isolated lonesome after two years on the side lines. He's certainly better than Liam Hearn.

That's why Carlisle have made such a generous bid to get his services.

Ha, I'm well aware that he's never really done much anywhere else, he just pitches up for a loan spell here every couple of years, plays a bit like Pele and disappears again.

To be fair I'd love Matt Green here, he's clearly decent. I was just throwing back to that epic debate of Green v Hearn back in those great conference days. I maintain if Hearn never suffered his injuries he'd have played in League One at least as he was far, far too good for the Conf Prem, only overshadowed by Vardy that season. He's at Ilkeston now, the injuries unfortunately ruined his career. Anyway let's not start that again, the bottom line is that Green is a well sought after striker in this league and Hearn isn't.

Very happy with our two signings today. Remember first seeing Ben Davies play for Shrewsbury, rated him very highly back then and it sounds like he's still got it. Vose was immense for Wrexham so I'd imagine he'll be decent enough for our mid table target.

The likes of Doncaster, we used to get that in the Championship from West Ham fans but fuck me I draw a line at it from a stag.

Nat Knight-Percival, no idea who he is but he has a surname like a thoroughly smug Tory MP

Very very very good CB. I'm hoping we're in for him too as we are on the lookout for a left sided CB. Plus with him being a Cambridge lad I kind of put two and two together when he turned down his contract offer at Shrewsbury.

We're interested in Jordan Cook apparently. Had him on loan a few years ago before he joined Charlton. Had a lot of talent but don't think he's lived up to it...

Again I find it worrying that we're concentrating on signing the likes of Matt Green and Jordan Cook when it's our defence that is in desperate need of strengthening.

I'd be really happy with Cook, would be another solid addition. I was hoping we'd be interested when his contract expired at Walsall.

There's still a fair bit of time to bring in some defensive options, to be fair, though Curle might be content with our current backline.

Possible on Myles Weston for us. No idea if he is any good
Martin Allen signed him for us when boss.
Very quick but runs into dead ends and gives very little end product.
Probably a better sprinter than footballer.

A quick lesson for you my friend. Take a look at that blank League 2 table - "the likes of" Doncaster Rovers are right there on it alongside the likes of little old Mansfield Town. That'll be the Mansfield Town that regularly used to play league games against Doncaster Rovers and many of the rest of us for the majority of your history. Your not in the Championship now and there's far far bigger clubs than your own that have found themselves loitering here and not been able to drag themselves immediately up.

You're just the latest to parade your big bollocks around in a wheelbarrow for us all to admire. Get used to the fact that a few years in higher divisions means jack once you find yourself back in the basement. Enjoy your visit.

He's going to crop up somewhere in the London Region, we need another winger ideally as a squad player - So I haven't ruled us out signing him in my own world!
Gone to Wycombe. So still no signings for us

What utter garbage, learn to read properly. I'm well aware of our history I've been supporting Donny since 1970. I'm not of the opinion that we will piss the league either. The comment I was referring to was the likes of Doncaster as if in some way any side in this league is bigger than any other, I mentioned the Championship as that's what we got every week by those bigger clubs to which I again took exception too. Get off your high horse and see the post as it really is.

In fairness, we conceded just 23 goals in the last 23 games of the season, compared to 39 goals in the first half of the season.

I don't think our defence is anything special, but it's fairly solid. I'd still like to see another central defender come in.

Myles Weston has signed a 2 year contract for us this morning, decent player but has had injury problems, our physio is going to be busy this season. I wonder if this means we will play attacking football and not the shit we served up last season which i can only apologise to you opposition fans, even us Wycombe fans hated and were embarrassed by it.

It needs strengthened if we're going for promotion as people keep saying. And if we carry on this playing from the keeper to the defenders then into midfield we need at least 1 new defender as Ellis & Raynes have pretty poor distribution.

IMO if we don't add another centre back to our ranks, we've no chance of promotion.

What's the low down on Jason McCarthy Wycombe fans?
An outstanding central defender who had a brilliant season for us on loan even winning our player of the season award. A very likeable fella with a great future ahead of him so you will not be disappointed. He likes meeting fans and talking with them and is very passionate which you don't see much of these days.

Is he better at full back or centre half? I think we'll be using him as a centre back.

Nice, sounds like we might have a gem on our hands. We need some extra grit adding to the backline. Some leaders across the back 4 is what's required after a couple of capitulations last season.

Ainsworth wanted him back for this season and he said he'd be delighted to play for us again but it seems Southampton wanted him to play in a higher league which is fair enough, i know they rate him and i can understand their thinking trying to develop a young talent.

Our signings have started to gather a little bit more pace this week with a few additions, meaning we've now added Luke Prosser (Southend), Denny Johnstone (Birmingham) and Brennan Dickenson (Gillingham). Of those, Dickenson sounds the most promising from what comments I've seen from the Gillingham end. Prosser should bring some experience at the back and Johnstone had a good year in Scotland last season with plenty of youth on his side.

We've also brought in Ben Wyatt (Maldon & Tiptree), Dexter Peter (Millwall) and Courtney Senior (Brentford) for the U21s, presumably looking to push for a senior place over the course of the season.

Still need three or four more really I should think.
