Liam Kelly from Oldham deal still not dead. Failed a first medical apparently, so we're having another look.

We've signed Tom Davies on a 2 year deal. Was at Accrington last season.

Very happy with this. Not a stellar signing and largely gone unnoticed under the radar. Highly regarded at Stanley looking at their boards. Reminds me a bit of when we signed De Zuew.

Now we need a keeper and a striker, and we'll looked strong coming into the new season.

Our head of recruitment says we're expecting another signing in the next 2 or 3 days, sounds like another good one: 'The player is from a higher division with great calibre and has moved for money in the past'
Hopefully a centre back.

Dunney was a good player for us. He seems to have slowed down a bit since then but he will still be a rock in the midfield.

Oh.

*adds Stevenage to relegation acca*

I don't expect us to pull up any trees next season but I think we'll be safe. Think we've got a solid enough foundation to work from.

Talk in our local paper about us being interested in Izale McLeod, would be pretty happy if we could pull of his signing but I strongly doubt we could afford him - didn't Notts pay good money for him or did I imagine that?

Hopefully a centre back.
As has been said on our forum, the use of the word 'exciting' to me suggests it won't be. Unless the exciting part is how good a signing it is, or maybe it's a youngster. I'm looking forward to it whoever it is, and the fact that Dykes has said what he did must mean he's pretty confident of wrapping it up soon.

Could it be Cook? I'm trying to think whether Charlton paid a fee for him...

As I said a couple of days ago, the clubs are negotiating a fee for the player, the player wants to move, the terms with the player are all agreed etc and ready to be signed once the clubs reach an agreement. Mansfield are making quite high demands, but Carlisle are trying to pay what they think he's worth there or thereabouts, this is why it hasn't been completed yet. They are quite relaxed about it and confident it will go through. It's not as if the window closes tomorrow.

You'd better hope he signs for us then!

£100k, we'd probably be giving him away for free now - not because he's shite, Notts fans in general hate him (I won't go into specifics but it's the same old shite) but he's massively underwhelmed and if we could shift his presumably big wages off the books we'd likely be able to get someone younger and better.

I really just want Jon Stead gone to be honest. Please someone, anyone. Save me. Take him.

Liam Kelly from Oldham is all set to happen, but it seems there is a problem with his medical - He picked up a serious injury when at Bristol City three years ago and its the reason the deal hasn't got over the line yet.

Local rag in Oldham reporting that the deal should be done next week. I'd expect him to be our captain if he signs.

I've said numerous times from the very first time I broke the Green news, I'd still rather we put our efforts into sorting out our defence rather than pay money to sign another attack minded player when we're already good in that area.

Neglecting the defence would be stupid. We're not far off being a good team but defensively we aren't good enough.

Refrain from calling each other the "c" word on here. Whatever you two like to do behind closed doors is up to you but there are rules in public.

Agree, keeper and a striker and I'll be very happy with our summer signings. Hopefully we can offload one or two but got to say we've got our transfer business done early.

I'd heard that you were going to sign Stuckman from us but it's all gone quiet

We make our biggest signing of the summer yet with Carl McHugh signing a new contact. I expected him to be off to a top league 1 club minimum. Fantastic news and class footballer.

With a midfield like that you'd certainly expect Orient to be in and around the promotion picture.

Current team is looking like:

Simpson - McCallum
Cox - Weir - Kelly - Massey
Kennedy - Erichot - Parkes - Hunt
Cisak
Reserves: Grainger, Sargeant; Clohessy, Pollock, Doherty; Atangana, Moore; Kashket, Gnanduillet, Palmer. Plus a couple of youngsters like Koroma and Moncur...

Think we need a centre back and winger still at least.

We have signed Mark Connolly from Kilmarnock. 2 year deal.He was the Killy club captain for the last two years and before that he was with Crawley in the league one side that finished 12th. He is a good centre half/right back. He did have injury problems last season which is probably why we have managed to get him back.

One year deal to Alper Tursan London lad who has played the last two years for a Turkish premier side making sixty appearances. No, I've no idea either. He is a right back it says here.

Just need a left back and a striker now.

No offence Orient, but why are Cox and Simpson still there? They should at least be playing at the level above.

Local paper here reporting we are in for Rhys Murphy of Oldham. He was on loan with us for the first half of the season and Wimbledon for the second. I think he was our top scorer.
Now I quite rate Murphy but I'm not sure if he will fit into the playing style Drummy says he wants to use. The one striker up front with wide men joining in.

Hey, maybe we're after Matt Green!

We've confirmed Oscar Threlkeld, who was on loan from Bolton for most of last season. Cracking signing.

Both on as much money as they'd get in L1 tbh. Think they could both do a job in the Championship, depending on how Cox recovers from his cruciate.

Coxy rejected a move to Preston North End last season, complete southerner and settled in the area. Dare say he also quite enjoys being a club legend, which he is really. If we don't go up both will be off for sure.

Curtis main from drfc. been training with us supposedly

Seemed to have made a big impression on loan at Oldham at the tail end of last season, but not so at his parent club.

Record indicates a hard working centre forward who isn't a spectacular goal scorer, but a scorer of spectacular goals.

Interested to hear from latics and donny fans on this one.

Never took his chances with us and became the target of fans abuse, finally he went on loan to Oldham and refused to come back and help out at the back end of last season, definitely will never play for us again. He is hard working and will score the odd scorcher. Thought he would have gone to Notts given that Sheridan rates him.
