No offence Orient, but why are Cox and Simpson still there? They should at least be playing at the level above.
They're both being paid around £5k+ plus per week or around that ball park. No one else will pay them that amount in the bottom two leagues, as good as they both have been for us, they're overpaid for the bottom two tiers for a club of our size.

If we fail to go up this season, both will probably go. Both would be oustanding free transfers for anyone in Leagues One or Two.

A couple more signings for us today, Joe Lea a midfielder from Southampton, and Josh Ezewele a right back from West Brom. Both on one year deals.

You'd better hope he signs for us then!

Green only played for first half hour day before being withdrawn. Personally thought he had his mind on other things. He looked quick on the half time warm down, but odd he started and withdrawn after half hour.

£100k, we'd probably be giving him away for free now - not because he's shite, Notts fans in general hate him (I won't go into specifics but it's the same old shite) but he's massively underwhelmed and if we could shift his presumably big wages off the books we'd likely be able to get someone younger and better.

I really just want Jon Stead gone to be honest. Please someone, anyone. Save me. Take him.

I honestly don't know what Notts fans expect from a league two striker. Sometimes I think they want Messi. izales movement is quality for a league two striker, he just got naff all service last year and probably needs someone who can run alongside him

Things went wrong when he took that peno at Daggers, he shouldn't have done it, he was never really as good after missing that and the fans never really forgave him.

Stead on the other hand is loved by the fans for trying but is just knackered as a player. Knees, legs everything has gone.mjust can't see us conning someone to taking us off him. Notts fans are best summed up for their love of David Pipe. If you run loads, flap around and put effort in, you're loved. If you actually have some quality but done do the aforementioned you're shite gerrid

How/why tf are Orient paying 5k p/w wages?

Cos we have a crazed, criminally wanted in Albania, grandson of a person arrested in Italy for being "the leader of a highly organised criminal empire" - although the charges were dropped, bat shit crazy chairman.

We've signed a defender!!!

Shaun Brisley from Peterborough. Don't know much about Him, but at least it's someone. 2 year deal.

Sounds like we've beaten quite a few clubs to his signature. I hope he's not shit.

We've just signed Shaun Brisley on a two-year deal following his release from Peterborough.

I'm pretty happy with that, a solid addition to our defence.

Curtis Nelson and Reuben Reid leaving Plymouth. Am I just being a bit slow on that one?

Looks like us playing them first day of the season could be a good time to play them.

Carlisle have signed 26 year old Peterborough centre back Shaun Brisley. Looks like another good signing I hope.

What is he like Orient fans? He was on loan at you last season I hear.

We had him on loan last season. Started well, but then got dragged down to everyone else's level after a few games. Good stopper and not terrible on the ball, but not a great deal of pace and can get outmuscled. Overall I liked him and wouldn't have been disappointed to see him back.

If only there was a thread for posting confirmed transfers in and asking opinions of fans of previous clubs.

Echo the thoughts above on Brisley. We had him during the first part of last season on loan. Seemed solid enough on the ball and put his body on the line. Good signing.

We've got Pierce Sweeney on trial after he was released from Reading. He's a right sided defender which we need but know nothing else about him

First 6 weeks of the season will be a great time to play us this year. Brand new squad and will need time to gel. We've known Nelson and Reid will be leaving for some time (Nelson just signed for Oxford, underwhelming for him, could have done far better). Reid not fussed about really, he's injury prone now and reportedly failed medicals at more than one club...We've probably signed 2 decent players for his wages.

Like everyone else above, Brisley is a solid defender for this level, overall did well for us, but his form drastically dropped in the final 6 weeks of the season - along with every other player we had due to the off field problems we keep having.

Pleased with Brisley, glad to see Curle addressing the defence having pretty much sorted out attack and midfield already. Not sure who we'll start now though, Raynes, Ellis and Atkinson would all surely feel aggrieved at not starting the first match having been regulars last season, but Brisley will surely start at Portsmouth which leaves room for only one of the other three (assuming we don't start with the gung-ho 3 at the back again). Think I'd go for Ellis personally, but it's a pretty close decision between the three of them.

Yann Songo'o, Gary Miller, Karleigh Osbourne, Nauris Bulvitis, Ryan Donaldson, Connor Smith, Oscar Threlkeld, Jimmy Spencer or David Goodwillie.

Take your pick 2 of the above... The decent ones will make themselves clear as the season progresses, and none of them will be earning as much as Reid did. I can update the list at the start of the season for you if you'd like?

*Jordan Slew left out to avoid ridicule!

Reid is a risk, and on his wages we can't afford to take that risk.

Nelson was always going to leave when we didn't get promoted, no hard feelings though all the best to him he's likely to have a great career, only player I'm bothered about losing, we've bought in some decent CBs though by all accounts to replace him

Lewin Nyatanga looks like our back up option after missing out on Knight-Percival.

Curtis main from drfc. been training with us supposedly

Rumour is he signed for you on Friday just waiting for Pompey to confirm. Hopefully true that will leave just 3 unwanted players out of 8. I thought we would struggle to be rid of at least 6, all in all its been a good summer so far.

Ferdinand once had potential, but it's worth noting that John Still said he had character issues when he dropped from Peterborough to a loan spell with Luton (who were in the Conference at the time). No surprise as soon as Still went down to Dagenham his contract was terminated. He's the sort of player we need to be avoiding rather than giving a 2 year contract to when it's inevitable he'll do a Bingham seeing as Davis can't get the best out of troublesome players.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I can't see anyone with a similar background to Ferdinand who we could realistically afford. He's played 142 league games from tiers 2-5, he's 23 and he's without a club. Just over two-thirds of his appearances have been at this level but he hasn't looked the same player he did when he left Southend for a six figure fee.

Was the midfielder Conor Thomas? Davis mentioned he'd gone to Dubai, ties in with Thomas' instagram.

Anyway, signed for Swindon.
