Maybe you can have green if we get someone better in.

I meant adequate replacement. I.e someone who can score the goals that we'll lose from Wyke.

Jason Kennedy has scored more than Green this season and he's a midfielder.

Green would have been a good signing a year ago, but we've evolved since then and our standards are different.

According to a good source, Charlie Wyke is in Bradford today and the deal will be completed later on.

Hope we've got a replacement lined up or it's good bye top 7.
A white Merc, C9WYK is parked outside Valley Parade so that would tally

So have ours in the last month, which is why we'll allow you a castoff now :P1:

Mackail-Smith gone to Peterborough on loan until the end of the season (he's out of contract with us then so presumably with a view to a permanent).

Amazed he's moved up the ladder, I thought he'd be Dagenham bound or something but I suppose Posh have the sentimental connection. I hope it works out for him but he doesn't have goals left in him at this level unfortunately never mind the one above (watch him prove me wrong now!).

All but confirms that we are bringing a striker in today as Jones said yesterday that we'd only let a player leave if we got in the target we wanted.

But we've moved on. Green would love it if we gave him his dream move after his summer heartbreak, but that ship has sailed. We are looking for players who can take us to the next level.

Brighton reporters saying Walton has been recalled from his loan at Luton. Big blow, leaves us scrambling to bring in a replacement and whoever they do get will almost certainly be a downgrade.

Yeah that's an absolutely huge blow. Hope we had a contingency plan in place.

We have been linked with 4 players today. Alex MacDonald who has since left Oxford so would look likely. Alfie Potter who was at the game Saturday and a defender from Barnsley and one from Sheff Utd, Both loans so I imagine only one of those will happen.

Also rejected a bid for a player yesterday but the club have made an improved offer but heard nothing on who that is or who from yet.

Bloody hell thats really not good if true. Been top quality throughout his loan and you could see him improving all the time. Thought recently he had made some dramatic improvement in coming for crosses and being more commanding in his area. Be very annoying if he just ends up on the bench at Brighton. Jones said he had a back up plan in place so we will see I guess but doubt they we will be as good as Walton.

We have sold one of youngsters, Freddie Hinds to Bristol City. Seems a bit like the McJannet one earlier in
the season, goes into their under 23 team to develop and we perhaps bring in a young striker who can be in and around first team, which Hinds wasn't quite ready for yet.

Alex macdonald has signed - technically on a free - he and Oxford parted company earlier today.

If any Oxford fans are around your opinion would be appreciated? Always seemed alright against us - but then again we always seemed to struggle against Oxford!

Now been confirmed that Walton has been recalled. Need a keeper then pretty quickly!
Bollocks bollocks bollocks. Best keeper in the division imo and will certainly play at Championship level if not above and get selected for a full England squad at some point.

Why do BHAFC need to bring him back? I know they've got a couple of injuries but he's their 4th choice. Is Ankergren not good enough then? All he's going to do is sit on the bench and play in the reserves for the rest of the season.

I'm guessing he's going to try and get Mitchell back who'd be an adequate replacement.

Shows the danger of relying on a loanee in such an important position. If a midfielder or defender gets recalled then you're only talking about one of three or four of your starters in that position. Walton played every minute of every league game so far this season.

Strong rumours that we've beaten off Bolton's interest to finally land Eoin Doyle on loan from Preston. Scored a bunch of goals for Cook at Chesterfield (and previously in the Irish league) and he's gone after him every transfer window since he's been at Pompey.

He's been unable to nail down a regular place at Cardiff or Preston in the championship but could be just what we're looking for to finally fill the problematic lone striker role.

Rumour developing that we've signed Ollie fcuking Palmer from Orient.

Not exactly inspiring to say the least if true, I'd expect a full-pelt Outlaws meltdown if that one is confirmed (especially if McGeehan leaves which seems to be picking up pace, still can't see that one though).

Ollie Palmer joins Luton (allegedly).

Not sure if it's funnier that they've signed him or that we've let our only fit striker go.

The magnificent Ulrich N'Nomo has also joined Paris FC on loan.

Looks like Luton will be signing Palmer as CMS replacement. Not sure if it's a loan or not yet.

Will be a good backup option off the bench, but not Someone to rely on when starting when going for promotion.

Fair play to him, he's escaped the madhouse.

To be fair, CMS has played about 20 minutes of league football this season and was very much our fourth choice striker so there's no chance Palmer will be coming in as first choice. He'll be a "big fucker off the bench when Plan A fails" type I would imagine. Still not exactly inspiring but I'm not overly fussed as Hylton and Marriott will start every game anyway with Vassell being sub of first choice usually, another striker isn't exactly a priority.

Goalkeeper signing and what happens with McGeehan is what will make or break this deadline day for us, not who we brought in as an impact sub striker.

So hope we get this one across the line. As you say it could be just what we need.

Like, Luton lads, Ollie Palmer:

- 6'5ish, has no strength however. Isn't as good in the air as he should be as he takes up wank starting positions.
- Runs around a lot and shows #passion, however this normally means he's always out of position.
- Has minimal technical ability.
- Has the composure of a nervous wreck.
That isn't a one off.

I'd only hope it would be a loan to the end of the year if anything, because long term he's not going to be the answer. If we end up with him and lose all these players it will be a terrible day. No team though in their right mind would spend £1m+ on a player with a broken leg...would they?
