I hear Luton are looking to offload Hylton because they feel he would get in the way of James Collins.

Only joking.

Wanted. A decent striker. Not much money to spend and very little hope of staying up.

Casey
We are willing to swap Scott Vernon for Dean Cox.

I'll put money on Barry Corr signing for Swindon.

Patrick Brough signs on a 1 year deal. No idea, enlighten me Carlisle fans.
Looked promising a couple seasons back, not seen the best of him since. Loaned out to Salford last season and got decent reports, still young so could improve. Definitely needs to work on his crossing though, horrendous.

Good move for him, hope he does well.

He's got attributes to be a good left back. Deceptively quick, alright going forward and a decent crosser. He can also play as a left midfielder. I think he just needs a confidence boost to kick start his career and Bentley will get it out of him imo.

We've signed Joe Fryer on loan from Middlesbrough for the season. Goalkeeper who spent the second half of last season on loan with Hartlepool. No idea if he's any good but Sarll has been talking him up. Would pretty much confirm Jamie Jones is leaving too.

Looks as though we might be losing Marquis to Ipswich and looking to replace him with Hylton

Given how much money we've already raised this summer and his safe as houses contract situation, I doubt we'd even return calls for anything under a million, which no-one would be crazy enough to offer. I'd be positively shocked if Hylton left this summer.

The amount of money you've raised so far is irrelevant other than no need to sell but you've just signed a player who could be deemed as direct competition another club comes in and states they see him as their main man and want him to lead another promotion push, heads get turned

It's not irrelevant for that exact reason - we are over a million pound in the green already on player sales this summer, absolutely no pressure to sell another so anyone wanting one we want to keep will have to pay well above the going rate. We just managed to get over £400k for our 3rd/4th choice striker who scored 12 goals last season, can't see us selling our best player for less than triple that under the circumstances and no club would pay that kind of money.

We play with two strikers at all times so unless Danny Hylton can't count to two (possible but fairly unlikely I would say) it seems unlikely that he'd feel threatened by the arrival of Collins. He's our main man, that won't change.

Over £2m this summer.

Such a shame Corr couldn't get fit. With a decent run in any side he's the best striker in the league and certainly capable of moving up to League 1.

In two seasons he played just 29 games for us and scored 14 goals. Given how broken up those games were, that was an excellent effort. We'd have been play offs minimum last season if he'd played even 20 games.

Anyway, it's the right decision for both parties that he's gone his own way and I wish him all the best. Just hopefully not against us!

Was a total surprise. We are going to be a big unit next season!
I like it. Very different from Rodgers, Kasim, Colkett etc etc! Hopefully this guy is in a similar vain to Rohan Ince.

Wonder if this is the signing that was meant to me arriving in the next 24 hours, though everyone seemed to be pointing towards a striker?

Not even close. Corr is one of the worst players I've ever seen in a city shirt... And I have watched Alex Jeannin!

They would have been murdered in league 2! Definitely need more physicality.

Not too sure but we still need bodies. Guessing wingers and strikers will be coming in later in the window as presumably they command more money (maybe). Still positive signs.

You clearly didn't play him properly. 1 in 3 for Southend (and promoted with them), 1 in 2 for us despite having no legs. A fit Barry Corr would take this league apart.

Oh and I'll eat my hat Paddy Ashdown-style if Hylton leaves for Doncaster. He is indispensable.

We had him on loan for a month last season and we made our mind up on him pretty quickly. Didn't look to enjoy the physicality of being a LB so perhaps should be tried on the wing instead.

Think the striker(s), winger(s), non-threatening midfielder(s) will be the loanees. Christ, we'll maim a few this season.

I can't grumble at Chris O'Grady.

Not prolific but generally been a good player in leagues above this and should mean there's a bit more muscle in the team which was massively absent last season. Not sure where the money has come from, some of it from the Nolan sale presumably but the rest? umm.......
