Andre has all the attributes to be a decent left back but isn't. He gets caught out of position, gets silly yellow and red cards and was a major part in our inability to defend last season.

He does show promise as a left midfielder though.

I'm sure he'll add to the ineffectiveness of our team currently then. We're so impotent up front. Not quite sure why we didn't atleast attempt to go for Amond.

Heard today you've had a couple of bids rejected for our striker Uche Ikpeazu as you're expecting Akinde to leave before the end of the window. Player not particularly interested in the move, but I suppose it shows you're at least looking to add some options up there (if true that is)

Uche may not be interested in going to Barnet, but I've heard he wants out too. If this is true, then it only means things aren't rosy at all behind the scenes, and I would expect the club to remedy this. Just like they did when they sacked Sir Dickie.

If we don't sign a experienced goalkeeper a tall dominant centre half and a 20 goal a season striker then we are down as we don't score or keep clean sheets.

Akinde to leave before the window... :animatedf:

Jonesy in his interview today was virtually admitting that he was in for Sonny Bradley by saying "no comment".

Don't think there's any doubt we are in for him, just a case of whether we can pay enough to tempt Plymouth. Seems a weird one for him to be willing to drop down again but if we've made three bids you'd think we must have had encouragement from his agent or something otherwise why bother? Doubtful it will happen still but after pulling off the Berry deal who knows...

Very raw, but would be a good addition for any team in the league imo. Excellent at holding the ball up, defenders can't get round him at times. If he could be a bit more refined on the ball he definitely wouldn't be being linked with barnet put it that way

apparantly we are in for jayden stockley back from aberdeen. he's awesome at this level but we dont exactly need another center forward, we've already got about 5.

And he should score more than he does. He's a brilliant centre forward until it comes to shooting.

Be careful with Sonny Bradley. He has done really well at Plymouth but Pompey fans always say he is woeful and we had him at Crawley for a few seasons and he divided opinion.
Personally reckon he is ok as long as you keep him away from the left back slot.

Stockley would be good but I do wonder what that would mean for Brunt. Did very well for us on loan a couple of seasons ago and is only 23.....

Looks like we may well lose Wheeler so Stockley would presumably only sign if he went.

He was Plymouth's POTS last season; I dare say he'd be a shrewd signing.

If this signing comes off, we'd have spent not far off £1m in transfer fees this window. But still well in credit!

Rumours that PNE have now received an £8 million bid for Hugill... would equate to around £1.5-1.7 million on sell on to us. Oddly this would take him close to our record sale income of £2 million for Ainsworth despite the original sale only a few grand after making a handful of appearances after signing from Whitby!

Two ways the income can go for me... in Smurfs back pocket if he lowers his asking price to a realistic level so we can be taken over OR into the squad in which case we will hopefully have some real financial clout going into January as it would be too late for this window.

Did Luton sell a player?

Whats all this hatred towards out spending? We are doing it within a great business model and sustainably. Unlike teams like Crawley & Mansfield have in the past/current. Smacks of jealousy.

er excuse me. Crawley spent heavily when we could afford to. When the money ran out we cut out cloth accordingly. When the money men sold the club they left with no debt on the books.

Just remember, Luton are buying the league. The same as nearly every team who bring in the better players to progress. I'm going to get hammered for that comment but it's true.

Nothing wrong with Luton spending within in their means, which they are with the income they've generated. They've recruited astutely as well from what I've seen so far. Easily had the best transfer window of all 24 clubs in this division.

Still find it hilarious one of their fans thought they'd get £2-£3 million for a fourth tier full back though.

Any Club's expecting much movement prior to the transfer window being gently closed?

We've not really got the numbers to be allowing anyone out, especially at this late stage and the bid would have to be silly money, but we should be bringing at least one in, which will be a striker.

We need some movement. Actually we're desperate for it.

We look set to sign Janoi/Jaanai (seen it spelt both ways) Gordon from West Ham.

Thoughts Newport fans?

There is also a niggling rumour that we'll be signing Dillon Phillips from Charlton. I'll believe that when I see it.

No more signings expected for us. Not good when you consider our squad is horribly balanced and we have zero creativity in the side.

We're definitely trying, hopeful of at least bringing in a pacy forward before the deadline, plus anyone else Cooper thinks can improve us. Tough to find at this point though.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Marsh-Brown leave if we get a decent offer

Is Akinde likely to end up at Blackburn or wherever he's been linked too then Barnet fans? Notice he's still not played a game yet this season, or is he actually injured?
