Billy Waters... is there something I'm missing about this lad? He scored 2 in 41 last season according to wpedia. We need to be careful about signing too many strikers, we're not gonna play more than 2 at a time, already got the main goal threat in Pope and I'd like Angus and Turner to have the chance for some minutes. Morias and a big lad to play the Pope role if he's getting tired will do at the most.

Waters can play the number 10 role behind Pope from what I gather?

Don’t think we will sign them all but we are putting a few irons in the fire.

He puts in a ton of effort and is likeable as a result, but he just doesn’t ever seem to end up in any scoring opportunities and he is so short he wins nothing in the air/can’t hold the ball up really.

I really don't rate Billy Waters at all. Had a great first month of the 2014-15 campaign when he put in two worldie like performances against Barnsley but he looked unfit, off the pace and unable to play in a wide role. He didn't have the best of managers to develop him at the time, but he was nowhere near good enough for League One football as Northampton have found out now.

Vale love an ex player of ours but I can't see him pulling up trees for anyone like he did for Cheltenham. He seemed to be better than what Cheltenham already had, I'm not sure if he's better than Hannant who impressed me when Vale last played against us. And he's certainly not an out and out striker as well so he won't be keeping Popey out the side anytime soon.

We are not in need of an out and out scorer as we have on in Pope, we need energy and someone to chip in with the odd goal.

We are looking to sign a couple of strikers aside from Waters too. One non league striker we’ve met the sale clause in his contract and the other is an EFL striker (Morais or/and now rumours we’ve had a bid accepted for Armond)

Angus could play on the wing and i wouldn'tbe surprised if turner went out on loan.

Danny Rowe from Fylde being linked from multiple places apparently. I've only seen it from that parody news thing on Twitter personally, but who knows.
Guarantee Tisdale will bring in at least one player he’s worked with before, whether that’s him bidding for one of our current crop or he may look at someone like Tom Nichols, Jamie Mackie, Matt Grimes, Scott Golbourne etc. Any of those would be excellent signings at this level.

If Lincoln get Bowery then I am sounding the OFFICIAL GOING FOR IT™ horn. Can't see any truth in that one, though. Would be a cracking signing. Is he expected to sign a new deal, Crewe fans?

Have I stepped into some alternate universe? Or is this one of those ironic jokes? A team going for it by signing Bowery.... a estimated worth of £500k...?

He has absolute stinkers of games and has next to no pace. He's done ok for us, hopefully Artell and Lunt can drag some more of that early potential from him, but we'd definitely sell for sub 100k without a moments thought. I can't see clubs fighting to pay money for him though.

I hope we can sign him up for another couple of years. For where we're at, he does a decent job. Not quite sure I see him as a hot shot of L2 just yet though.

I am basing my opinion completely off The Goal Rush and from speaking to LOTP. He always seems like he can finish really well to me. Does he fluff a lot of chances?

We had Golbourne last season and brought him back on loan while injured, so we clearly expected him to sign it's just whether he did enough to prove to Pete that he's worth it when he was part of the squad that sent us down.

I'd probably take any of the others, only downside of Nicholls is he's ex Posh...Mackie though was with us at the very beginning, so maybe.

Another downside is I don't think he's available for transfer yet

Bowery looked a handful against Notts earlier this season. I think he'd be a great signing. Compared to Stead and Ameobi he had pace and movement and certainly scored a respectable amount last year

Sounds like the O' Connor rumours still making the rounds. We definitely need a decent midfielder now Woodyard has left.
This is looking more likely as it seems we don’t want to pay him as much as you guys’ve are offering. It looks like hes been offered a reduced contract here and he’d prefer to go for the money. He has once again indicated on Twitter he wants to stay but seems the money isn’t right

Macclesfield once sold Emile Sinclair in the last year of his contract to Peterborough for £300,000 tbf and he didn't pull up many trees himself.

Wouldn't see us selling him for sub £100,000 as we'd be unable to afford a replacement with such a pittance either. Certainly not to a club in the same division as well. But, like you said, I can't see clubs fighting to pay money for him either, this isn't 2012 after all.

Why do you think he has been offered a reduced contract, he featured in 8 games at the end of the season after coming back from his injury, do you reckon he isn't over this?

Our manager wont spend decent sums on transfer fees, he's a tight arse.

Basically because he is 2 years older now and was out for a year with a career threatening injury that presumably has a chance of reoccurring.

If you have given him two contract offers, it will be interesting to see if he stays put or looks elsewhere. Think he is still lives local to us so maybe that will go in our favour.

Unfortunately it’s the right thing to do IMO, I’m a big fan of O’Connor, his limited performances were very impressive and if he played a full season would get in and start for most sides in this league if not all but he’s older, and an injury threat/doubt.

Annoying he’s just the type of Midfielder we need, seeing as Hewitt and Noble appear at times to be unable to take a touch, just hack it forward in a general direction. We have one obvious replacement for him if he doesn’t go but relatively unproven

I’d imagine Money and contract length are far more important than location.

If he joins the Imps that’s good news for my early season Bet

The loss his not confirmed so we will see when the accounts come out but in any case the money we made the year before will more than cover it and was always intended to top us up over a few years.

£250k loss? Pfftt that’s nothing , not even worth mentioning if it’s not at least double that and rising year on year.

I would explain Lincoln’s club finances the past few seasons are very very healthy compared to others at this level.
Tremendous numbers consistently through the turnstiles last season

Creative accounting I suspect (if that figure is even true, just came about due to chinese whispers. I can't see us losing money having made £800k+ in the Checkatrade, the Raggett transfer money (worth £350k), plus 8.5k average crowds).

Unless we've decided to take one big hit of £1.3m+ on the training ground, but I doubt that's the outlay to us after any grants etc.
