Waters can play the number 10 role behind Pope from what I gather?

Don’t think we will sign them all but we are putting a few irons in the fire.

I never saw anything from Waters to suggest he can play the number 10 role. He needs to be playing alongside a big man up top.

I agree.

Like many players, he can do various roles that involve chasing down, tracking back, closing down but for a L2 starter he needs to be playing alongside a big man up top and/or to re-find his goal scoring touch - which was the reason Cobblers took him from Cheltenham.

Guarantee Tisdale will bring in at least one player he’s worked with before, whether that’s him bidding for one of our current crop or he may look at someone like Tom Nichols, Jamie Mackie, Matt Grimes, Scott Golbourne etc. Any of those would be excellent signings at this level.

Heard anything about us looking to sign Jordan Storey?

Do you rate him? potential to be a decent Championship player?

Creative accounting I suspect (if that figure is even true, just came about due to chinese whispers. I can't see us losing money having made £800k+ in the Checkatrade, the Raggett transfer money (worth £350k), plus 8.5k average crowds).

Unless we've decided to take one big hit of £1.3m+ on the training ground, but I doubt that's the outlay to us after any grants etc.

Yep, if we somehow don't have a few million tucked away in the bank after the last couple of seasons with all the ST sales, healthy crowds and matchday income plus cup runs and player sales, there is a big problem.

Player sales? What are player sales? At Notts we (sadly) tend not to both with a decent income from selling off some of our playing talent. It’s been a virtual drought on that front for years now

Luckily then we have a big man up top... although we tend to play 4-2-3-1 (although partly down to the fact last year we have a 900 year old central midfield of Tonge, Pugh and Kay!

No mate, not heard anything on that.

He’s great and broke into the first team around February so still quite raw. But he has everything, good in the air, fairly quick for a tall lad, good positioning & composure plus he’s a threat from set pieces. I’d be surprised if he’d make the grade in the Championship just yet but in time I can imagine him being out next big sale.

It’s tough to put a value on him now but I’d be disappointed with less than £500k and add ons. In a year’s time he could be worth double that so I’d be keen to hang on to him for as long as possible

It's doing the rounds on our forum, come from someone who is usually reliable.

Doesn't mean we will get him though, we're not the best when it comes to meeting valuations of players. Sounds promising though.

We made a profit last season.
So did we, £1.3million pre tax, and all debts cleared.

This is rumoured for this year. We'll still have the cash from last year in the bank and I imagine making a small loss is good for tax purposes. We're building a new training ground so no idea what costs that will have incurred but the total outlay is £1.3million.

Anyway, transfer rumours (a couple supporting stuff that's already been posted on here) from our forum, all imminent, apparently:

Toffolo to sign for us
Farman going to Stevenage
Sean Long (back-up Right Back) going to Cheltenham

Haven't heard anything either but he does have big potential. Tall, strong, quick, good on the ball, brave etc. Came from nowhere last season and was the real success story from our squad. Hasn't played a huge amount of games but his valuation should rocket after another year with us.

Not sure what it will cost to tempt us to sell, but as mentioned, it will definitely be more this time next season.

At least it shows our scouts are earning their crust.

That’s great Chris, like a profitable small independent natural foods store on the high street.
What was the reported figure?

No, like a well run football club hopefully starting to live within it's means.

No figures released yet, just going on what the owner said at a fans Q and A.

Given we'll be building a training ground/academy base plus have a new stadium in the pipeline I would imagine that the playing budget will continue to be less then it was in the NL, as was the case last season.

So no figure , verbally stated by the owner. Sounds good enough for me and fans on this site.

I imagine with so much development going on, putting the major infrastructure in place for potential long term stability a growth that unknown profit may well be swallowed up pretty quickly in future accounts.

Barry Fry suggesting that ourselves, Crawley, Stevenage, Ebbsfleet and Vale are all interested in Morais.

No figure yet, however when our results for the financial year ending April 18 are made public, then everyone will know the exact figures. Hence why a verbal statement is good enough for me at this point.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Kanu one was us. That one was mentioned a few weeks back.

Some league 2 rumours

Carlisle interested in Aaron Tshibola (Villa) apparently.
Exeter were interested in Joe Riley but he chose Plymouth instead.
Mansfield and Swindon amongst those chasing Otis Khan.
Luton after Bury's Danny Mayor.

Anthony Limbrick becomes our assistant manager and Adam Forrest becomes our assistant coach. Limbrick was Woking’s manager last year and was sacked when they started plummeting down the table. Forrest worked with Jolley at Eskilstuna as a sports scientist.

Crikey, Tshibola has had a fall from grace. That move to Villa probably wasn't the best career move.

According to the Mail online (salt required) we attended the recent Jamie Vardy academy day to look at Coady Cooke of Truro City who scored 15 or so in the NL South. Allegedly Stevenage and Portsmouth also looking at him.

Cooke does live in Exeter I believe so could have some legs, but could also be 2+2=5.

Crawley sign Ashley Nathaniel-George. Nope, me neither.

He is a winger with an eye for goal (it says in the blurb). He was at Hendon which is a bit of a step up to league football but here's hoping.

It seems we watched him at the Jamie Vardy trials and he 'stood out'.

Seeing as we don't have a lot of money (a pot to piss in would be nice) we do have to try to sign freebies from below just as long as it's not half the team I'm quite happy with it.

Eh? An assistant manager who has been academy coach at Southampton and West Ham as well as England U17 assistant.

On top of that manager of Woking where he had a thankless task. He’s also doing his pro license, I’d rather that than some dinosaur signing plodders.

Plus a FITNESS COACH doing all this new fangled sports science stuff that the Cowleys invented. Fenty must be on holiday and forgot to take his phone charger.
