Can’t be many other Colombian players in league two other than Monty to be fair.

Can’t beleive Tom Pope is still going at Vale. He’s probably the slowest forward in England.

Looks as though he has a decent scoring record so will be an interesting one. Miller, Pope and Quigley give us some competition for places plus Dodds and Kanu can play up top. I’m hopeful with this squad for once!
Hopeful of what exactly? Now the squads are really taking shape what are you hoping for come end of season?

Dominic Poleon (spillcocker = Pokémon) signs for Crawley from Bradford. Undisclosed fee! There's some of the Boldewijn transfer cash being spent. A striker come winger.

We've already had Bradford fans on the forum saying sorry ... Happy he's left, but sorry for us.

I do seem to recall he wasn't bad for Wimbledon a couple of seasons ago but I might be dreaming.

Casey

From when I've seen him he runs a lot but isn't a very good finisher. League 2 might be his level though so he could fair better with you.

If we don’t get our shit together soon we’ll be amongst the also rans. Got some right old shit on trial, some lanky streak of piss that FGR binned called Mullings. A striker with a 1 in 100 strike rate, a keeper everyone hates and some American kid called Oldham. We’re off to Spain Sunday for so called team bonding with the same players as we had last season - less the 10 or so Brown has binned. I’ve been told we’re in for a couple of real decent players but they are yet to materialise. Getting twitchy.

Thankfully he doesnt rely on speed, and did well in a poor team last season.
He works hard don’t get me wrong but it was blatantly obvious at Bury that he was just shit.

Cant argue with his Vale record though.

Check out our thoughts in the L1 transfer thread, delight that he’s gone doesn’t start to cover it, thank you for taking him I really mean that.

Goal machine for us. 19 goals with no service in a dire team despite missing a month and playing for three months with a hernia.

Pace is irrelevant with Tom as the chant goes Feed the Pope and he will score.

How he got 19 goals in that team last year I will never know but had he been a) fit and b) in a half decent Vale side last year he would have scored more.

Emphasis though this season with Miller, Dodds, Quigley, Kanu coming in though is to decrease the reliance on him.

Omar Sowumni has signed a new 2 year deal :woo: which is like a new signing.

Brilliant news, most of us thought he'd be off somewhere higher up the leagues.

We just need to keep hold of Tom James although that's looking increasingly unlikely unfortunately, Villa, Celtic and Swansea are all interested.

We are going to Spain for 'warm weather training' on Sunday so you would have thought we may bring in at least a couple today so the 'lads' can bond.

IMO the top seven sides in terms of transfer dealings (on paper) so far are:

1. Notts County
2. Mansfield
3. Port Vale
4. Lincoln
5. Colchester
6. Exeter
7. Grimsby

Why bother going to Spain for that? Is Swindon the only place in the UK that has not been affected by the heatwave we've had for the past fortnight and it looks we'll have for at least the next fortnight?

You would like think so. I heard last weekend about 2 players most fans would like at the CG and have been mentioned were set to sign early this week - then nothing. I don't know what the hell is going on to be honest.

Well done on tying down Sowunmi. Was hoping we’d go in for him to bolster our defence as he looks a fine player.

Looks like David Vaughan is signing for us today. Anyone at 35 is always going to be a bit of a risk, but he’s always been a very classy player. A bit of much needed experience in midfield as well, we’ve gone from the oldest team in the league to quite a young one over the summer.

Bury have signed Matthew Hudson on loan till January.

Very highly rated at the club but needs first team experience, a good move for him.

When I say 'We' I mean the royal we, as in the football team I support. I had no input in the decision at all. :)

But yes, it does seem like a bit of a waste of time bearing in mind the heat in England at the moment. I think we are playing Glasgow Rangers when we are there which could be fun1
