We’ve finally signed Jimmy Oates from Hereford after a successful trial. Will add much needed competition at right back.

Still a lot of people saying Lee Martin will sign so not sure why that’s yet to go through....Perhaps later today.

Potential is there, I would have liked to have seen him feature a bit more for us this season. Last year's managers never knew where was best to play him. There's definitely a decent player in there.

Thanks, when you spend 200k on someone, you would think there must be something about him. I read that 9 clubs were after his signature in January including Accy and Luton, guess we were one of them too. Will be interesting to see how he does here.

Agree with RM, wouldn’t be shouting from the rooftops about this signing just yet but he’s shown glimpses he’s a decent player. Hope he does well as he’s got 2 years left on his contract here.

We’ve now confirmed the signing of Lee Martin. Delighted with that, captained Gillingham last season and their fans are speaking highly of him.

Looks a good signing. Captained Gillingham last season and on the whole he's come with good reviews.

Really impressed with the players Matt Taylor has brought in. Maybe one more for cover at either centre back or centre mid and I think we'll be set.

Have heard a rumour that he was captain of Gillingham last season, is that true?

Well, captain in normal parlance - chief Pikey in reality.

We've signed Shamal George on loan from Liverpool until January as Davies is out injured. Carlisle fans? Any good?
In the other 3 games he played for you apart from Stevenage, where he seemed to have a stinker?

Have to be honest and say I preferred it when Lincoln used to just get left with the shit that nobody wanted in the Conference, now they're signing decent players it all seems a bit unfair to me. ;)

Bury sign Stoke City striker Dominic Telford, not sure who he is but he has previously played at Bristol Rovers.

We need to lose some players now, Sang, Aldred, Edwards all leaving would be ideal to trim down the wage budget.

This is the 4th striker we’ve signed this summer.

Yeah best not to mention the Stevenage game. His other games I don’t remember too much so that’s probably a good thing.

I would also add one of O’Shea or Bunn to the list of leavers too.

Quite obvious correlation between winning sides(or sides meeting expectations) and unchanged sides there. Sides doing poorly with greater numbers of changes. Notts County and Lincoln anomalies in that.
Ours skewed a fair way by four players - Woodyard who played just about every minute last season and sold to Posh, our GK in the second half of the season was a loan player and Wharton came in on loan to replace Raggett, who ended up back here on loan having been sold in August (since re-signed Wharton).

Doidge being linked to Bristol Rovers and Portsmouth. If we sell him at this point we are utterly fucked.

It’s been a good preseason in my eyes, very active, lots of signings from start to finish, and plenty of money being spent by a multitude of teams.

2018/19 - Should be a good’un in the basement division

Can't see why we would sell until January at least and as I said on our forum don't think he's the type to sulk if he doesn't get a move right away. Surprised it's the first rumour we've heard.

Nope, Cheltenham are fucked because you'll inevitably be in for the same players and you'll chuck more Doidge money at them than they will Eisa money.

It appears ours are practically wrapped up, just a case of crossing t's and dotting i's.

If FGR don't sell this week, then they won't be in for the same players as us.

Would have thought we'd price him too high for the Gas at least.

How much would FGR sell for? Rovers have just received £750k for one of their forwards from Ipswich.

No idea tbh, but was thinking we'd want around the million, think something to that effect was said when the last lot of rumours came around. Would the Gas blow all that on one replacement?

Shay McCartan signs on a season long loan from Bradford.
He’s an expensive (for us) L2 standard player for me, which is fair enough for Lincoln but we shelled out £200k+ on someone who had a good five months scoring with a load of free kicks (I don’t think he’s scored a single one here typically). This ‘potential’ tag other City fans use doesn't wash with me given what we paid and I think it’s clutching at straws in the hope we’ve not just spent loads on a dud but he simply hasn’t done anywhere near enough since we signed him. I really hope he has a great season down at Lincoln and comes back a different player but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s played his last game for us and he just knocks around L2 for the rest of his career.
