The amount of loans is a concern but a lot is down to being stuck with Evans era players on big contracts.

And ironically enough, in one of Flitcroft's first interviews (maybe even his first) he lamented the amount of money being spent on wages as a whole and/or the amount some were earning individually.

Funny how managers have a change of heart.

That's not a criticism of Stags, btw.

Never really got his interview on that tbh given the wages Bury were splashing the season he took them up.

Is it that good of a signing? Looking at his record (provided reliably by Wikipedia) he seems to have been a little hit and miss. If he is pacey as well as I recall from Football Manager then is that we we needed? Thought we needed a Rose/Davies type of player with one injured and the other out of form. Unless Hamilton or Walker may be off.

To be fair Luke I imagine the people he’s actually signed on permanent contracts (Bish, Preston etc) are on significantly less than the near 4K p/w of Butcher, Anderson, Diamond etc.

He found really good value in those permanent signings and every single one was a improvement.

But yeah he spent big with Bury so he’s not alien to a big budget for this division.

Very impressed with Mansfield signing Nicky Ajose.

Was excellent for us in two spells and would have loved to have him back at the CG. Guarantees you goals in League 2. Fancy you guys to go up automatically now.

Larnell Cole left the club by mutual consent.

Very odd.

Tore Crawley and Exeter a new one, then fell out of the squad ever since. Must be attitude issues with him behind the scenes. Expect him to go to Macclesfield, would be outrageously good compared to what they have.

If he can be arsed a bloody good signing or a complete waste of space

Good luck with Ajose.

One of the most lazy, disinterested footballers I’ve had the misfortune to watch.

If you can some how motivate him you might get a few goals out of him but I doubt it. Seems to only score goals for Swindon.

Must be his Charlton career over now, shame as was really excited when we signed him but has not worked out at all.

Hearing Notts are close to signing a striker and another defender possibly before the w/e
Hoping it's a target man and a defender who can play on the left or right of defence.

Have you heard something about him joining? He's a winger isn't he? We've just signed 2.

Remie Streete also training with the Vale and playing in the reserves tomorrow. Was excellent with Smith in our relegation season but had some injury issue which looked to have ended his career.

Dont need a centre half as such but if cheap would be a decent addition if fit.

Young LB Adam Crookes has gone back to Forest.

Like Slocombe, he never played in the league just the Carabao (1) and Checkatrade (4).

That's 16 available for the Grimsby game now...
We don't really know anything about him, even though he'd been here for 5 months.

Crookes looked out of his depth with us although only played in Checkatrade and League Cup for us.

Its an interesting one as we have Clarke at left back who is possibly the best at the club and doesn't seem to be set to be recalled by Villa as it stands and we often play Theo Vassell there too. Clarke is injured so might get a chance I guess.

I never saw him play, but it seems Guernica above did.

He's really not the same player that left you scoring all them goals . like Bobbin' said he's a lazy fucker which is sad to see. No doubt he'll prove me wrong now and score a good amount and help them get promoted but its definitely not a clear cut thing with him anymore.

Not even sure Crookes has even made the bench for us in league games!
All I know about him is he's Lincoln born but with Forest's academy.
Think he's a left footed CB but when we played in the league cup and checkatrade he played LB and looked out of his depth, enjoy!

Tbf, fans can only make opinions on seeing a player at your own club. Ajose was nothing but excellent for us - although it does seems to be only us.

I know the player he can be we had him first don't forget. It just made it all the more frustrating last season although there were much worse than him for us last season so got away with it.
