He's not the hold up type of striker then? Is he better playing in a two rather than up top on his own?

I see his goal ratio is very good but as you say he's never fit!
As above, the Vale fans have said everything really, certainly not a hold up player, he’s basically just there to put the ball away and don’t expect much else. His goal/game ratio for us was 1 in 3, in L2 he should be lethal on paper, in reality, that’ll all depend on his fitness, I hope he does well for you.

Seems we're signing young attacking midfielder / striker Callum O'Hare on loan from Villa. Exeter wanted him too. Signing's not completed yet but he has apparently travelled to Vale with the squad to watch the match.

We've just signed New astle left back Jamie Sterry on loan until the end of the season. Very happy with this he was us last season and really impressed. Also recently played for Newcastle in the fa cup vs Blackburn.

A few people suggesting Lincoln could be interested in Perry Ng. I'd be shocked if he didn't go higher in truth, atleast too and of league 1. Also hes in contract so I'd be surprised if we let him go for anything less than 500k, not sure what Lincolns financials are like.

We're being linked with everybody, like we did in January in our NL season and used as a bargaining tool.

I think we might announce a Haydn White replacement next week.

OSJ gone on loan to a Brackley too, expected him back at Solihull to be honest.

Rumours from this end is Jabo Ibehre to Northampton.

If true I find it absolutely bonkers we are letting go the only striker at the club that can hold the ball up. Cobblers are also relegation rivals so unless we have a better replacement lined up I just can't believe we would sanction this deal.

Anything's possible when it comes to the U's (we're all well accustomed to this sort of decision making from the BOD :ffs:) so I can't say I'll be surprised if we really let him go. But I would be astonished if Calderwood doesn't use the freed up wages on another suitable candidate or two.

Naturally the question then will be whether Jabo's replacement will be any good or a downgrade. And what about the timing of it all, since Jabo has looked like a new signing with the arrival of RHM? Seems a far too risky thing to do at this moment in time if you ask me.

We missed out on Elsnik to Northampton after they agreed to guarantee him starts and pay a huge bulk of his wages. We never guarantee loans starts (now Davis isn't manager anyway) but I'd have loved him to sign for us.

Callum McDonald, Derby LB, is rumoured to be coming on loan to us in the next few days.

Good player, would have him back at Mansfield next year if he was up for it. Quite harsh for him to be replaced really as he didn't do anything wrong. Might not want to come back mind.

Please happen
I'd drive him here myself. Yeah, he's a bit of a pantomime villain type for us but he's never really done anything Challinor-esque to warrant us properly hating him. He can do a job for us and 100% provides something we don't have. Would be a great signing for the rest of this season. Can't see it happening unless Lincoln sign a striker though...and probably not even then.

Can't see him going atm, we need more strikers not less, very short there of bodies in that area.

We should loan out Matt Rhead for one match at a time at a different club each time so everyone can realise what a good player he actually is.

Apart from Mansfield. They already know.

Sounds like Ibehe is off to Northampton so we are in the market for a target man.

That seems a bonkers move to me. Although I guess that Ibehre is now in his 30s so you may find a younger striker with potential to develop nicely for you?

Why would Cambridge let him go unless they received a crazy offer?

Curle came out recently and said about the need for a target man, wouldnt be shocked to see us go for someone he knows well. Hes 35 though, considering how much he has gone on about matching a certain profile it would seem odd to spend big money on someone that age.

I don’t doubt that he’s a good player, he wins everything in the air and would be a great target man it’s just his other antics on the pitch that I can’t stand.

I'd happily take Rhead. We've badly missed a target man since Cook left, and now Miller is out for a while, I imagine we will be on the lookout for another.

10th! Who was that?

He's 36 today and out of contract in the summer so any other time I would say accept the offer for him. However we are in a relegation battle with you and I'm not sure we have anyone lined up.

He's vital to the way we play with his old up play. He can't move and in my opinion should be playing conference football after this season as his legs have gone. If you've offered him an 18 month deal, plus offering us a fee then I can understand why Jabo would want the move.

He loves winding people up, but so did/does Kevin Ellison.

One of those players you love on your own side but annoys the fuck out of you if he isn't.

God knows why people keep taking chances on Miller. He's proven his entire career that he's made of glass. What, do some managers think as he gets older and puts more miles in, he'll suddenly stop breaking down every 20 minutes?
